sVo Sunday Night Showdown 142
Live on the HOTv Network on PWA:TV
Goodfellas Casino Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada
11th December 2022

After the intro for the PWA, the entrance video package for Sunday Night Showdown begins, accompanied by the theme song of ‘Showdown’ by Pendulum as highlights of past action from 2013 to present day are sped up, showing the likes of Bobby Dean, Roscoe Shame, Night, Jay Wildman, Cody Williams & Nathan Paradine. As the video package finally comes to an end with an extended look at the ‘Sunday Night Showdown’ logo, the camera cuts to an exterior shot of the Goodfellas Casino Arena, in the heart of the Las Vegas strip, before cutting to a live shot of inside the arena. The camera pans around the sold-out crowd, most of them on their feet and screaming loudly whilst trying to get their homemade sign shown in front of the camera. The cameras finally head over to the commentary table, where Julian Fiasco and Jeremiah Sloan welcome the fans watching on the HOTv network on PWA:TV to the broadcast and begin to break down some of the action that will take place on tonight’s show!

Southern Boys vs. Canadian Connection

Welcome Back

The cameras head backstage to the interview area where Kyle McRae is standing by with Katie Smith, McRae making his first appearance on sVo for months.

Katie Smith: “Kyle, welcome back to the sVo! You must be pleased to finally make your return here tonight?”

McRae looks a little emotional as he slowly nods his head.

Kyle McRae: “I wondered if I was ever going to get back here Katie. That night I lost to Xander Azula was the worst of my life. I thought that my sVo career was over right there and then. Page kicked me out and I thought there was no way back, but I fought and I fought and I must have done enough for another chance by going to HOW and taking the fight to Xander Azula myself!”

Katie Smith: “Well we are glad to see you back in action in an sVo ring, and I am sure this sold out crowd will be as well! Now, any idea who you are facing tonight?”

A slow shake of the head from the Scotsman.

Kyle McRae: “I haven’t heard yet, all I was told was to bring my gear and show up tonight….”

Suddenly the interview is interrupted by the sound of laughter coming down the hallway. The camera swings around to show that the laughter is coming from the sVo boss himself, Jon Page who is walking towards the scene. McRae holds out a hand to Page, but Page ignores it.

Jon Page: “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves now Kyle. You were hand picked to represent the sVo against HOW and you couldn’t get the job done…. TWICE!”

Page stares down McRae.

Jon Page: “You might be back in action tonight, but it’s only because I am not paying you to sit around and do nothing any more, I might as well put you to work. Now tonight you will go one on one with ‘The Dark Horse’ Curtis Knight!! Welcome back….”

Page begins to laugh again before walking away from the interview area, as McRae gulps at the prospect of stepping into the ring with the giant Curtis Knight.

Ending Our Enemies

We head backstage to the locker room of Blood Money, with draws instant boos from the fans watching on the giant screen from inside the arena. The sVo Tag Team Champions look ready for battle with their match coming up soon, whilst Johnny Moretti paces back and forth with his match later in the main event. The only member of the group that looks relaxed is Junior Gambino.

Johnny Moretti: “Right guys, this is big time. We have two weeks until Seasons Beatings but we have the chance to take half of our enemies off of the chess board in one move!”

Moretti stops pacing and looks intensely at Anthony Moretti and Joe Barone.

Johnny Moretti: “If you guys can deal with BBD and Night, we can remove the #1 and #2 contenders from the sVo Championship from the picture in one move!”

Moretti makes a sweeping move with his arm as the rest of the group watch him intensely.

Junior Gambino: “You got Big Aug’s number in the main event Johnny, we all believe in you….”

Moretti doesn’t look happy as he snaps back at Gambino.

Johnny Moretti: “Of course I got that big rookies number, why wouldn’t you believe in me?”

Moretti stares down Gambino who tries to stutter an explanation.

Anthony Moretti: “Easy guys easy. We got this…”

Barone and Moretti make their way out of the locker room towards the gorilla position after calming the tensions, with their match up next!

Night & BBD vs. Blood Money

Blood Pact

Barone and Moretti rise to their feet, but as the referee tries to raise their arms in victory, the Champions have other ideas as they quickly run at BBD and Night, knocking them back down to the mat! The fans boo loudly as Night and BBD brawl with Moretti and Barone as the referee struggles to restore order.

BBD and Night seem to begin to get the upper hand over the Champions, but before they can do anything with it, Johnny Moretti and Junior Gambino run down the entrance ramp with steel chairs in hand!

The crowd continue to boo loudly as Johnny Moretti and Junior Gambino slide into the ring and nail BBD and Night from behind with the steel! Blood Money continues to beat down Night and BBD with the steel, before an army of referees and security run down the entrance ramp to try and restore order as Showdown heads to a commercial break!

Commercial Break

As Showdown returns from a commercial break, Blood Money are getting dragged away backstage by security, with an angry looking Jon Page looking on.

Jon Page: “Get them three the hell out of here!”

Page points to the exit, as the security guards drag the resisting Anthony Moretti, Joe Barone and Junior Gambino towards the door.

Jon Page: “Not him, I want him to suffer in the main event on his own!”

Page points at Johnny Moretti, who is struggling all the same. With Moretti, Barone and Gambino all out of the arena, can Johnny Moretti go it alone against the sVo Champion in the main event?

Curtis Knight vs. Kyle McRae

No Easy Matches

As Showdown returns from a commercial break, we head straight to the interview area where ‘the Human Highlight Reel’ Kenneth D Williams is standing by with Katie Smith! The pair seem to be watching a giant screen which is still showing highlights of the last match between Curtis Knight and Kyle McRae.

Katie Smith: “Kenny, thanks for joining me. Now you are only two weeks away from a huge grudge match against Curtis Knight, surely that victory for Kyle McRae has to give you great confidence going into that match?”

Williams nods and smiles confidently.

Kenneth D Williams: “I knew I was good enough to beat the ‘Dark Horse’ before tonight, but that has just shown me that he has no chance. Knight is gonna wish he stayed dead after I am finished with him at Seasons Beatings….”

Before Katie Smith has the chance to ask a follow up question, Athena comes roaring into the scene, knocking down Kenneth D Williams from behind! Williams struggles to get back up to his feet, but the powerful Athena sends him straight back down with a big knee to the face.

Athena: “You think you can win at Seasons Beatings Kenny? I am afraid that tonight has only gone and pissed off my husband more! Seasons Beatings will be the end of you and the start of something special, mark my words!”

The cameras cut to a commercial break as Athena stands over Williams.

Johnny Moretti vs. Big Aug

Deal with the Devil

There is a big pop from the crowd as the referee raises Big Aug’s arm in the air in victory, before presenting him back with the sVo Championship belt! Johnny Moretti looks angry at the loss as he rolls out of the ring, before grabbing a steel chair from ringside! Big Aug is oblivious to the actions of his opponent as he celebrates with the title belt in the ring, with Moretti rolling back under the bottom rope behind him!

However, before Moretti can strike the Champion, there is a big cheer as BIG Trouble come running down the entrance ramp! The tag team slide quickly into the ring and put themselves between the Champion and Moretti, causing the Blood Money man to back away and roll back out of the ring!

The fans cheer loudly as Big Aug realises what has happened and high fives his friends, before challenging Johnny Moretti to get back into the ring! Moretti doesn’t look too enthusiastic to get into the ring without his Blood Money back up, but suddenly a smile begins to spread over the face of the 2x Champion.

Big Aug and BIG Trouble look a little confused by Moretti…… until the lights in the arena go out….

There is a big pop from the crowd, followed by boos as the lights spring back to life with William Vorheez and the Black Brothers in the ring!

Vorheez and the Black Brothers grab Big Aug and BIG Trouble by the throats, before chokeslamming the confused trio to the mat!

Boos continue to ring out around the Goodfellas Casino Arena as Vorheez and the Black Brothers stand over the bodies of the crowd favourites, with old rivals Vorheez and Johnny Moretti sharing a knowing look.

"I make my own rules. I don’t follow orders from Jon Page. The scumbag disgust’s me, and since I make my own rules I decided that I won’t fight in any title matches unless it’s for the sVo championship. That’s giving up alot right. I may never see a World Title bout, but that’s all that matters to me. That title. I could’ve easily won the Las Vegas title here tonight, but that won’t make me. Only the sVo Championship will."
