The Victory Cup continues

sVo Sunday Night Showdown #127
Goodfellas Casino Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada
8th May 2022

The entrance video package for Sunday Night Showdown begins, accompanied by the theme song of ‘Showdown’ by Pendulum as highlights of past action from 2013 to present day are sped up, showing the likes of Bobby Dean, Roscoe Shame, Night, Jay Wildman, Cody Williams & Nathan Paradine. As the video package finally comes to an end with an extended look at the ‘Sunday Night Showdown’ logo, the camera cuts to an exterior shot of the Goodfellas Casino Arena, in the heart of the Las Vegas strip, before cutting to a live shot of inside the arena. The camera pans around the sold-out crowd, most of them on their feet and screaming loudly whilst trying to get their homemade sign shown in front of the camera. The cameras finally head over to the commentary table, where Julian Fiasco and Jeremiah Sloan welcome the fans watching on TV to the broadcast and begin to break down some of the action that will take place on tonight’s show!

“Keep on Swinging” by Rival Sons floods the sVo arena as some pyro goes off. Hugo Ryzing makes his way out onto the entrance ramp a hoodie covering his head; he pauses for a moment and then makes his way down to the ring bobbing his head to the rhythm throwing some practice punches and taking time to look at the crowd. He pulls himself up into the ring and makes his way to the center throwing his head back revealing his face and throwing his arms up into the air. He scrambles and pulls himself up into a corner taking off his hoodie throwing it into the audience and once again throws his arms up into the air before jumping down and asking for a microphone from the ring announcer Natasha Ortiz.

Footage of Hugo Ryzing’s shocking return to the sVo last week at the PPV is shown on the giant screen, as the fans boo loudly for the former Horizon member.

Ryzing smirks at the reaction as he watches the footage of his shocking attack on his former partner Darwin Jones, before bringing the microphone to his lips to speak.

Hugo Ryzing: “……”

The fans boo so loudly that the noise is deafening in the Goodfellas Casino Arena! Ryzing lowers the microphone and smirks as he looks around at the sold out Las Vegas crowd.

Hugo Ryzing: “….”

Once again Ryzing tries to talk, but despite having the microphone the fans drown him out with boos! Ryzing continues to smirk, before trying to address the Goodfellas Casino Arena for the third time.

Hugo Ryzing: “….”

For the third time the boos drown out Ryzing, who simply drops the microphone to the mat and gives up on trying to get his message across. The boos continue for Ryzing as he flips the fans off before climbing out of the ring and making his way backstage!

Step Up

The cameras cut backstage where the now former sVo Las Vegas Champion Kenneth D Williams is standing by in the interview area with Katie Smith!

Katie Smith: “Well Kenny, thanks for joining me tonight! Now it looks strange to see you tonight without the Las Vegas Championship over your shoulder after such a long reign as Champion. Have you had a chance to reflect on last week’s match?”

Williams pats the shoulder where the Las Vegas Championship belt used to hang from.

Kenneth D Williams: “You know what Katie, I have been walking around all week uneven, because there is five pounds of gold missing from my left hand side…. Now I could go back into Page’s office and get myself a rematch, I deserve it after such a long run with the belt….”

Katie Smith: “Is that an exclusive? Something you are going to do later tonight?”

Kenneth D Williams: “No…”

Smith looks disappointed at not getting the scoop.

Kenneth D Williams: “Because what I am going to do is walk in there and ask…. No DEMAND a shot at the sVo Championship belt!”

Smith’s eyes light up at the news as Williams looks confidently into the camera, before walking away from the interview area!

The Dark Horse

The cameras cut to the backstage area where the Dark Horse Curtis Knight is making his way through the corridors of the Goodfellas Casino area. Knight has an angry look on his face as he broods down the corridor, suddenly stopping as he walks past a couple of stage hands who are laughing and joking to each other.

Curtis Knight: “Something funny?”

Knight eyeballs the two stage hands.

Stage Hands: “Oh hey Curtis, nothing much, we are just shooting the shit you know.”

The stage hands begin to look worried as Knight leans in closer, the pissed off look not leaving his face.

Curtis Knight: “Are you deaf? I said is something fucking funny?”

The two stage hands look to each other and wonder what is going on.

Curtis Knight: “You are talking about my PPV match aren’t you. You think it’s funny I lost to…. I lost to my wife.”

Knight’s eyes flare with anger as the stage hands try to explain.

Stage Hands: “Wow, no not at all!”

Knight doesn’t seem to believe the stage hands, as he levels one of them with a sudden head butt before picking the other up above his head with ease.

Curtis Knight: “You think it’s funny huh? Laugh at this!”

Knight tosses the man against the brick wall with ease, as if he was a ragdoll. The camera zooms in on the man twitching and convulsing on the floor, as Knight storms away from the scene.

From Shoot to Showdown

The cameras head backstage before the main event, where Katie Smith is this time joined by the sVo Champion William Vorheez and the sVo Tag Team Champions the Black Brothers! Vorheez looks battered and bruised from his grueling sVo Championship defence against Johnny All Star & Darwin Jones last week.

Katie Smith: “Thank you for joining me here tonight! Now William, I must get your reaction to Kenneth D Williams stating earlier that he plans to go to Jon Page and demand a shot at the sVo Championship belt?”

Vorheez looks at the belt on his shoulder before answering the question.

William Vorheez: “He can go and demand all he wants, I will fight anyone that comes my way, there isn’t anyone taking this from me as you saw last Sunday! But tonight we are here to talk about these boys, these boys that were robbed of a match at the PPV after Blood Money jumped them backstage!”

The Black Brothers angrily stare into the camera from beneath their skull masks.

Katie Smith: “Well that certainly happened, but to everyone’s shock the match actually happened later in the day at the Shoot Project event! How did that come about?”

William Vorheez: “Well we were all in the building and we didn’t want to see Blood Money squirm their way out of an ass kicking again! Now I know Page was pretty pissed off at not having the match under the sVo banner, hence the rematch tonight! It might be a rematch, but the result will be the same!”

The Black Brothers hold the sVo Tag Team Championships in the air to signal what the result will be, as the scene fades out.

"Cody Williams… what a saga we’ve had. Ours is a story spanning ten years and three different wrestling companies, multiple title reigns, several high profile matches and, ultimate, an ill-fated partnership.
