sVo Sunday Night Showdown #126

The entrance video package for Sunday Night Showdown begins, accompanied by the theme song of ‘Showdown’ by Pendulum as highlights of past action from 2013 to present day are sped up, showing the likes of Bobby Dean, Roscoe Shame, Night, Jay Wildman, Cody Williams & Nathan Paradine. As the video package finally comes to an end with an extended look at the ‘Sunday Night Showdown’ logo, the camera cuts to an exterior shot of the Goodfellas Casino Arena, in the heart of the Las Vegas strip, before cutting to a live shot of inside the arena. The camera pans around the sold-out crowd, most of them on their feet and screaming loudly whilst trying to get their homemade sign shown in front of the camera. The cameras finally head over to the commentary table, where Julian Fiasco and Jeremiah Sloan welcome the fans watching on TV to the broadcast and begin to break down some of the action that will take place on tonight’s show!
EARLIER TODAY
#1 Contenders Pt1
The cameras are backstage picking up sVo Owner Jon Page arriving at the arena ahead of tonight’s Showdown broadcast. Page has a takeaway coffee in hand as he pushes through the door to the arena, but is immediately greeted by the welcoming party of Joe Barone and Anthony Moretti.
Page doesn’t look too delighted to see the Blood Money pair, as Joe Barone stands tall with his arms crossed whilst Moretti pretends to be pleased to see the boss!
Anthony Moretti: “Oh!! There he is!”
Page shrugs off the Blood Money pair and carries on walking.
Jon Page: “What is it guys, I got things to set up before the show begins tonight.”
Moretti pretends to be offended as he tries to keep pace with Page, Barone walking slowly behind.
Anthony Moretti: “We are here to come humbly before you to only get what we are owed Page. We want our shots at the sVo Tag Team Championships. We beat the Champs in six man tag action a month or so ago, it’s time we reclaim that gold.”
Page pauses mid-step as if he is pondering things, before turning to face Moretti.
Jon Page: “You know what, that might be a good match…..”
Moretti nods in agreement.
Jon Page: “…. I am sure the fans would love to see the Black Brothers toss you around like ragdolls.”
Moretti looks angry for a split second, before doing his best to hide it.
Anthony Moretti: “Well let’s consider it booked and we will see what happens….”
Moretti begins to turn away…
Jon Page: “Only problem is you guys aren’t the top contenders in the rankings, not even close so I am not sure how you can say you have earned a shot. You haven’t beaten the Champions in a straight tag match, you haven’t even won a match against some former champions recently or anything….”
Moretti spins back around, ready to plead his case, but Page raises a hand.
Jon Page: “Tell you what, you beat a team that is highly ranked tonight, then I will get that match sanctioned! Hell, I will even let you pick the team, any team!”
Moretti looks annoyed, until a smirk begins to spread over his face.
Anthony Moretti: “You know what Page, that sounds good to me….”
Moretti leads Barone away, as Page looks on suspiciously wondering just what Moretti has planned.
BACKSTAGE
The Carnival is In Town
The cameras head backstage to the interview area, where Carny Sinclair is standing by against the sVo branded backdrop with Katie Smith. Carny Sinclair doesn’t look too interested in being there as Katie Smith enthusiastically introduces the crowd to the last Showdown before the Roll the Dice 2022 PPV!
Katie Smith: “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to sVo Showdown 126! We are only seven days away from the Roll the Dice PPV which will see Johnny Moretti and Darwin Jones try and win the sVo Championship from William Vorheez in a triple threat main event!”
There is a cheer from the fans watching from ringside, as Carny Sinclair rolls his eyes.
Katie Smith: “Now I am joined here tonight by someone who had a big win last week against Kyle McRae, Carny Sinclair!”
The fans boo loudly.
Katie Smith: “Thank you for joining me. Now you managed to score your win back from Kyle McRae, but you must be excited for your first sVo PPV! Any idea if you will be on the card and who you might face?”
Sinclair stares at Katie Smith for a few seconds, before rolling his eyes and walking away from the interviewer!
The camera zooms in on Katie Smith’s face, with the red head looking a little flustered.
Katie Smith: “Erm, ok then. Err, back to ringside!”
RINGSIDE
#1 Contenders Pt2
The arena lights dim as the V-Tron goes dark and several different coloured gases start swirling in the middle. As the gases swirl faster the arena is rocked with an explosion from the V-Tron and pyro exploding from the ramp. The swirling gases are replaced by a spinning earth and ‘Evolution’ by Clawfinger fills the arena. The earth continues to spin as pictures of mankind’s greatest accomplishments and tragedies emanate from the spinning globe.
A Cro-Magnon man starts to walk forward evolving with every step it makes raising its arms out to the side, finally ending with Darwin Jones walking forward with his arms spread wide blocking out the view of the earth. Pyro explodes on the entrance ramp as Darwin Jones appears on the entrance ramp arms spread wide. He takes his time to the ring working the crowd into a frenzy. Sliding into the ring he pulls himself up into a corner still working for the crowd.
The fans continue to cheer loudly as Darwin Jones grabs a microphone from the ring announcer before waiting for the cheers from the crowd to die down.
Darwin Jones: “Well ladies and gentlemen, you are looking at a man who has just booked his ticket to get a shot at the sVo Championship belt in one weeks time!”
The fans cheer loudly for Jones.
Darwin Jones: “I showed just why I am the true next evolution when I beat Johnny Moretti last week in this very ring! I have smashed through everything that has been put in front of me, and now I am ready to walk into the PPV and get my hands on that sVo Championship belt for the very first time!”
The fans cheer again, but suddenly ‘Woke Up This Morning’ by A3 hits the sound system and the fans boo as the gold lights flash around the arena. After a few seconds of boos, the three remaining members of Blood Money step out onto the top of the entrance ramp in the form of Johnny Moretti, Anthony Moretti and Joe Barone!
Darwin Jones doesn’t look impressed with the arrival as he leans on the ring ropes and sighs, as Anthony Moretti tries to address the crowd over the loud boos.
Anthony Moretti: “Oh! Wait a second there! You seem to be seriously delusional if you think that you are walking out of a match with the sVo Championship belt next week, when my brother Johnny All Star Moretti is in the match!”
More loud boos from the crowd as All Star flexes his muscles for the fans.
Anthony Moretti: “You might have got lucky last week, but it doesn’t matter how lucky you are when you are not going to even make it to the PPV next week!”
Darwin Jones: “Let me guess, you got another match for me this week? Who this time, the big boy up there? Why not, bring it on! I beat you two already, might as well make the whole Blood Money collection!”
The fans cheer loudly as Joe Barone steps forward ready to fight, only to be restrained by the two Moretti’s.
Anthony Moretti: “Well maybe you are as clever as you say you are….. because you are half right! Now I had a little word with Jon Page earlier this evening about getting a shot at the sVo Tag Team Championships, and he thought he was throwing up a road block by making us beat another team in the top rankings just to get that shot….”
Jones shrugs his shoulders, wondering what Moretti is getting at.
Anthony Moretti: “Imagine my surprise when I look at the rankings and see that ‘Horizon’ is still listed as a team in the rankings! That’s right, Blood Money vs Horizon in the main event tonight!”
The fans cheer loudly, but Darwin Jones stares back at Moretti.
Darwin Jones: “You know that Hugo is still out of action at the hands of that bastard Vorheez… something he will pay for on Sunday.”
Blood Money laugh as the crowd boo.
Anthony Moretti: “Oh dear oh dear. Maybe you should have learned a thing or two about administration from JD James when he was running your crew. If you haven’t deregistered as a tag team and Hugo is out of action…. Then it looks like Horizon will be a one-man band when we face them in the main event tonight!”
Jones looks angry as he stares up at Moretti, as Blood Money high five a plan coming together.
Darwin Jones: “If that’s how you want to play it, then BRING IT ON! I will kick all of your asses on my own! Nothing is stopping me from taking that sVo Championship and destroying William Vorheez in the process!”
The fans cheer loudly as Blood Money and Darwin Jones stare each other down from across the arena as the scene fades out.
OPENING MATCH

Curtis Knight (c) vs. Bronson Johnson
BACKSTAGE
Son and A Gun
After the big victory for Curtis Knight, the camera heads backstage where Gunner Lang and Flip Dixon are standing by with their second tag team match in a week up next. The father and son team look to be deep into their preparation for the match.
Gunner Lang: “Right son, it’s going to be tough out there tonight, especially after going an hour with the Shamrocks on Wednesday night!”
Dixon looks up and down his arm as he answers.
Flip Dixon: “Tell me about it, I still have the bruises to prove it! What you know about our opponents tonight?”
Gunner Lang: “Not much, they are fairly new here in the sVo and this is their first TV match. They are going to be trying to make a name for themselves so we got to be on our game if we are going to pick up another win and keep climbing those rankings!”
Dixon and Lang high five.
Flip Dixon: “We got this pops, we are coming for those tag belts!”
Dixon makes his way off towards the ringside area, as Lang looks on and shakes his head at the enthusiasm of youth.

Out on My Own
The cameras head backstage to the interview area where Katie Smith is standing by with Money Malone! The usually hated Malone gets a cheer from the fans as they see his face pop up on the TV screen in the arena.
Smith stands next to Malone with a beaming smile on her face and a microphone in hand.
Katie Smith: “Thank you for joining me ahead of your match, which is only moments away! Now the fans want to know, what prompted you to quit Blood Money last week?”
Malone chucks to himself, waiting for the obvious question.
Money Malone: “I could see the writing on the wall Katie, I saw what happened to James Von Drake, what happened to Lucy Von Drake….. I wasn’t about to stand around and wait for the knife to get plunged into my back so I made the decision to quit. I had some success in Blood Money, but it’s going to be nothing compared to what I am going to win out here on my own!”
Katie Smith: “Well you have a match tonight against Greg Stanley, but are you worried about any retribution from Blood Money tonight?”
Money Malone: “They can try, but seems to me like they all already have their hands full and have bitten off more than they can chew between the three of them!”
Malone winks confidently into the camera before walking away from the interview area to bring things to a close.

RINGSIDE
Leaving the Family
Money Malone stands in the middle of the ring as the referee grabs his arm and hoists it into the air in victory! The fans cheer loudly for the man that decided to turn his back on the most hated group in the sVo, as Malone continues to celebrate the victory with them.
However amongst the celebrations, suddenly there is a commotion at ringside as a hooded figure jumps out of the crowd and over the security barrier with a steel chair in hand, before sliding into the ring!
The fans boo loudly as the man slams the chair into the back of Money Malone, sending him down to his knees! The man stands menacingly over Malone with the steel chair in hand, as Anthony Moretti steps out onto the top of the entrance ramp with a microphone in hand!
Anthony Moretti: “You thought you could leave the family with no consequences?”
The hooded figure smashes the chair into Malone’s back once again.
Anthony Moretti: “Seriously? Were you not paying attention?”
The figure nails Malone again with the chair.
Anthony Moretti: “Hey rat! Let me introduce you to your replacement and the man that is going to destroy your career next week at the PPV! Junior Gambino, take his fucking head off!”
The hooded figure pulls down his hood to reveal himself to be Junior Gambino! Gambino slowly takes off the hoody to reveal a Blood Money t-shirt which gets loud boos from the crowd! Gambino smashes the chair one last time into Money Malone’s face to leave him laying face down, as Moretti watches on with a smile on his face from the entrance ramp!

Re-Match
After the exciting tag team match, the camera heads backstage once again to the interview area where Katie Smith is standing by with the new sVo TapOut Champion Hiro Ryuu! Ryuu proudly shows off the Championship belt that is sitting on his shoulder as Smith begins the interview.
Katie Smith: “Hiro, thanks for joining me tonight and congratulations on your title win!”
Ryuu nods and bows in appreciation.
Katie Smith: “Now you called your shot and challenged Alissia Young before managing to secure the submission win, you must be overjoyed!”
Ryuu looks at the title belt and smiles before answering.
Hiro Ryuu: “Thank you Katie! This is a big deal for me, this is my first title in the sVo and now I hold gold just like my hero Night did all those years ago! I watched Night on my TV in Japan and dreamed, and now here I am living my dream!”
Suddenly the feel good interview in interrupted as into the scene walks the former Champion Alissia Young, flanked by Jake Hughes and Scott Cole! Katie Smith takes a few steps back, but Hiro Ryuu extends his hand to his opponent.
Young looks at the hand for a few seconds, before choosing to ignore it.
Alissia Young: “You hang a hand out there to me like that again and I will snap it off….”
Ryuu and Young stare each other down.
Alissia Young: “You want to prove yourself as good as your hero Hiro? Prove it wasn’t a fluke last week and give me a re-match at the PPV!”
Ryuu stares at Young for a few seconds, before looking down at the title on his shoulder. Ryuu doesn’t answer verbally, but simply nods.
Young smirks as she reaches forward and taps the title on Ryuu’s shoulder.
Alissia Young: “I will be taking this back home with me come next Sunday….”
Young smiles at Ryuu as the champion stares back, as Young and the rest of Canadian Connection walk away from the Champion.

Going it Alone
The cameras head to the interview area for the last time tonight, where Darwin Jones is standing by with Katie Smith! There is a big cheer for one third of the PPV main event, as Jones towers over Katie Smith.
Katie Smith: “Darwin, thanks for joining me. Well tonight looks like a tough test, is there any chance that your partner Hugo Ryzing will be able to make a return tonight for the main event?”
Jones chuckles to himself.
Darwin Jones: “Is that the rumour doing the rounds? Afraid I am going to have to disappoint, Hugo is no where near ready to return to action after what Vorheez put him through all those months ago. I know he will be here in spirit though, and that will drive me on to beat Blood Money tonight and get revenge over Vorheez next Sunday!”
Katie Smith: “Well we seemingly saw a new Blood Money member debut tonight in Junior Gambino. The numbers game are already tipped against you, does this tip the scales even further?”
Darwin Jones: “Blood Money can get as many new members as they want, they are going to need them after a thin the numbers tonight!”
Jones shows a fist to the camera before making his way away from the interview area as Showdown heads to its last commercial break of the evening!

Roll the Dice
The fans boo loudly as Moretti and Barone celebrate the victory that will see them take on the Black Brothers for the sVo Tag Team Championships, but Johnny Moretti isn’t satisfied as he rolls into the ring and begins to stomp away on Darwin Jones!
The fans boo loudly as Moretti & Barone join All Star in the attack, as the referee tries his best to stop the attack before being bullied out of the ring by Blood Money! The fans continue to boo as Moretti and Barone hold Darwin Jones up in the middle of the ring, allowing Johnny Moretti to hit the ‘All Star Stunner’ in the middle of the ring!
The Blood Money stand over Jones, but before they can do anything else “Abominator” by Doyle hits the sound system and the sVo Champion and the sVo Tag Team Champions step out onto the entrance stage! Vorheez and the Black Brothers look like they have seen enough, as they stand with their title belts on the entrance ramp, before slowly walking down towards the ring!
The three members of Blood Money stand in the ring ready to meet the Champions as the crowd cheer waiting to see the confrontation! However as Vorheez and the Black Brothers step up onto the ring apron, the fans boo loudly as Blood Money drops and rolls out of the ring! The boos get louder as Blood Money high tails it from the ring side area and climbs into the crowd to get away from the Champions!
Vorheez doesn’t look impressed, but as he watches Blood Money go, the Champions notice Darwin Jones struggling to get to his feet in the middle of the ring! Vorheez and the Black Brothers climb into the ring and surround Darwin Jones! There is a mixed reaction from the crowd as the Champions lay into Darwin Jones with big punches, before picking him up into the air and hitting a triple team powerbomb in the middle of the ring!
Vorheez and the Black Brothers grab their Championship belts and stand over Darwin Jones whilst holding them in the air, as the last Showdown before Roll the Dice 2022 goes off of the air!
