Goodfellas Casino Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada
23rd January 2022

The entrance video package for Sunday Night Showdown begins, accompanied by the theme song of ‘Showdown’ by Pendulum as highlights of past action from 2013 to present day are sped up, showing the likes of Bobby Dean, Roscoe Shame, Night, Jay Wildman, Cody Williams & Nathan Paradine. As the video package finally comes to an end with an extended look at the ‘Sunday Night Showdown’ logo, the camera cuts to an exterior shot of the Goodfellas Casino Arena, in the heart of the Las Vegas strip, before cutting to a live shot of inside the arena. The camera pans around the sold-out crowd, most of them on their feet and screaming loudly whilst trying to get their homemade sign shown in front of the camera. The cameras finally head over to the commentary table, where Julian Fiasco and Jeremiah Sloan welcome the fans watching on TV to the broadcast and begin to break down some of the action that will take place on tonight’s show!

The Real Main Event

‘Viva Las Vegas’ by Metal Elvis hits the sound system and the crowd boo loudly as the ‘Welcome to Las Vegas’ sign appears on the giant screen with the words ‘Blood Money’ spray painted over it, whilst pyros shoot up from both sides of the entrance ramp. After a few seconds the man himself, Johnny ‘All-Star’ Moretti steps out onto the top of the entrance ramp and holds the big gold sVo Championship belt in the air. All-Star makes his way through the pyros down towards the ring. All-Star salutes to the fans that boo him with a pair of middle fingers, as he climbs into the ring and jumps to the second rope of the nearest turnbuckle. All-Star throws his arms in the air and gets even more boos from his hometown fans as the music begins to fade out.

With the sVo Champion in the ring, the boos continue to feel the arena as Johnny Moretti shouts at Natasha Ortiz to toss him the live microphone. Moretti holds the microphone in one hand and the sVo Championship in the other with a smirk on his face, whilst he waits for the crowd to stop booing.

Johnny Moretti: “I know guys, I know, I feel like booing at the top of my lungs as well!!”

The crowd boo even louder.

Johnny Moretti: “I know, I know, I am as outraged as you that not only has Jon Page and the sVo allowed Cody Williams back into the building tonight after I retired his ass at Seasons Beatings, but that they are actually advertising that losers farewell speech as the main event of the evening!”

There is a loud ‘Cody Williams’ chant from the crowd in recognition of the sVo legend, as Moretti waves away the chant.

Johnny Moretti: “Cody Williams was a fraud. He won the title from me in a sneak attack, and then pretended he was a fighting Champion by defending the belt against the biggest group of jobbers and jabronis that he could find! As soon as he stepped into the ring with a real fighter like myself, guess what…. NO MORE CODY WILLIAMS!!!”

All Star holds the belt in the air as the boos reach fever pitch from the crowd.

Johnny Moretti: “Now he has the balls to come out here and think that people actually want to hear from him again? Well if that is tonight’s main event then I need to help Jon Page out and save this show! That is why I am going to make the real main event the very first match of the night! I am going to defend my sVo Championship belt against one of the toughest fighters on the roster….. RIGHT NOW!!”

The fans actually cheer that announcement as Johnny ‘All Star’ Moretti hands the belt to a near by referee and waves to someone from the back. The fans look to the entrance ramp to see just who Moretti has picked out as one of the toughest fighters. Is it William Vorheez? Is it Gunner Lang? Is it August Lazar? Is it Kenny Williams?…..

Johnny Moretti: “DALE NORMAN! Get out here and try and take this chance boy!”

There is nuclear heat from the crowd as the skinny rookie with a 0-11 sVo record slowly and sheepishly walks down the entrance ramp towards the ring, with no entrance music playing. Normal slowly climbs into the ring looking a little intimidated, as Johnny Moretti tosses the microphone to the outside of the ring and warms up in the corner as if he is about to wrestle the biggest match of his career.

sVo Championship Match
Johnny ‘All Star’ Moretti vs. Dale Norman

With both men in the ring, the referee calls for the bell to be rung and the action is quickly under way! Norman circles around the sVo Champion, knowing that this is the biggest opportunity of his career, whilst Johnny Moretti stands in the middle of the ring smirking at the youngster!

The fans boo the actions of the sVo Champion loudly, as Norman looks unsure if he should take the Blood Money member up on the offer! Norman eventually aims a big right hand in the direction of All Star, but he ducks out of the way at the very last second and kicks Norman in the ass to send him down to the mat.

Johnny Moretti cockily struts around the ring soaking in the boos from the fans, as Norman pulls himself up to a standing position looking more than a little embarrassed. Moretti taunts Norman to get up to his feet, and he slowly does before Moretti sends him straight back down with a big clothesline. Moretti follows up with a stiff clothesline in the corner of the ring, before stomping a mudhole in the youngster so that he is down in a seated position in the corner.

Norman looks in pain in the corner of the ring, as Moretti cockily walks back into the middle of the ring whilst taunting the crowd, before running and landing a big knee to the face of his seated opponent! Norman looks like he might be out cold after that shot, but Moretti doesn’t look too interested in going for the cover!

Moretti slowly pulls Norman up to a standing position, before bouncing the youngsters head off of the top turnbuckle. Norman staggers backwards into the waiting arms of the sVo Champion, who takes him down to the mat with a German suplex! With Norman down and hurting, Moretti rises up to a standing position and taunts to the crowd once again!

The fans boo loudly towards Moretti, as he laughs them off before signalling for his finishing move! Moretti screams at Norman to get up to his feet, before landing the ‘All Star Stunner’ in the middle of the ring, and making the cover.

Paper Champion

The cameras head backstage after the victory for Johnny Moretti, where Jacob Izaz is standing by with Katie Smith in the interview area.

Katie Smith: “Jacob, thanks for joining me here tonight. Now what do you think of Kenneth D Williams defending his sVo Las Vegas Championship tonight against El Froggo?”

Izaz smirks at the question.

Jacob Izaz: “I think this match shows what Kenneth D Williams is all about. Is he up for defending his Championship against someone that is actually gonna push him all the way and maybe actually beat him? Is he going to defend his Championship against the best and try and become one of the best Las Vegas Champions of all time?”

Izaz empathically shakes his head.

Jacob Izaz: “NOPE! Williams is gonna be another paper champion who only defends his belt against people he thinks he can beat. Now I am going to watch the match because Williams can’t duck me forever, and when we finally step in the ring I am going to make sure that this time that belt comes home with someone who deserves it.”

Izaz nods to Smith to signal that the interview is over, as the camera fades out.

Lazar and Fox both stare up at the wheel, as Page gives it a big spin. The wheel spins around, before finally slowing as the different match types tick by…..

Jon Page: “Alright! Table match!!! I smell ratings guys!”

Page pumps his fist in the air, but the sVo Roulette Champion looks confused.

Big Aug: “We spin wheel, we make deal…. But table match? What is this? We wrestle on tables?”

One Final Bow

Ring Announcer: “Ladies and gentlemen, please help me welcome… “The Hollywood Rockstar”…. COOODDDYYYYYY WILLLLLIIAAAAAMMSSSSS!!!”

The lights suddenly dim and the Goodfellas Casino Arena erupts as the drum solo and electric guitar riffs of “Robot Rock” by Daft Punk hits the sound system. Smoke fills the entrance ramp while pink, purple and gold lights flash in the arena. “The Hollywood Rockstar” Cody Williams steps out onto the ramp, wearing a blue suit and yellow colored tie, to a huge ovation as he looks out into the crowd. He stops at the top of the ramp and closes his eyes, soaking it in and internalizing the roars of the crowd. He gingerly makes his way down the ramp, still feeling the effects of his epic showdown with Johnny All Star at Season’s Beatings, and climbs into the ring where he is handed a microphone.

Cody Williams: “At Season’s Beatings…”

***THANK YOU CODY***

(clap, clap, clap clap clap)

***THANK YOU CODY***

(clap, clap, clap clap clap)

He lowers the microphone and grins, nodding his heads to the chants.

Cody Williams: “Thank you, I…”

***THANK YOU CODY***

(clap, clap, clap clap clap)

***THANK YOU CODY***

(clap, clap, clap clap clap)

Now fighting back tears, he raises his hand up to his mouth as he begins to choke up.

Cody Williams: “Thank you, I appreciate each and every one of you. Really, I do.”

The crowd continues to cheer, giving him a standing ovation. He presses his hands together and thanks the crowd as the cheers turn into polite golf claps.

Cody Williams: “When I was approached to appear at the Immortals show, I didn’t know what kind of reception I was going to get. But when I heard the energy of the crowd and the response that I got, I knew… I knew that there was no question about it that I had come back.”

He pauses for a moment.

Cody Williams: “Fast forward to Vendetta where I made my return and invoked my championship clause, and I became the sVo Champion.”

“The Hollywood Rockstar” removes his sunglasses and places them into his breast pocket.

Cody Williams: “13 years. 13 years it took me to finally win the sVo Championship and it was the most beautiful feeling in the world because not only did it validate my career, not only did it make all of the miles, the blood, the sweat the tears, the sacrifices worth it… I got to do it in front of all of you, the ones who have supported me from day one on this journey and that win wasn’t just about me.. It was about you.”

He looks out into the crowd.

Cody Williams: “It was about each and everyone of you that have been with me every step of the way. And I made it a point to give everyone who wouldn’t be afforded the opportunity to challenge for the sVo championship the chance. Because For 13 years, I knew that if I was given the chance, if I was given the opportunity to prove that I was the best, that I would have turned a lot of heads, proved the doubters wrong, and been a fighting champion.”

He takes a moment to look out into the crowd.

Cody Williams: “I want to give a special shout out to Kyle McRae, August Lazar, and Scott Washington. Those three stepped up to the plate when they were given the chance and they knocked it out of the park. They may not have won the sVo Championship but they proved that they have what it takes to be that next-level, top-tier talent, and I hope that they continue to show all of you and the entire world that they are the future of this company and this business.”

He nods his head as the crowd applauds his acknowledgement of his most recent challenger’s efforts. He then starts to scratch the back of his head and stares at the canvas.

Cody Williams: “But I guess it’s time to address the elephant in the room now right? Four weeks ago, I put everything on the line. The sVo Championship, my body, and my career. The scars left on my body are something that will remind me of when I was willing to risk it all in order to prove I was a fighting, deserving champion. But these scars on my body will also serve as a reminder of when I lost not only my championship but my career.”

He pauses.

Cody Williams: “And I am a man of my word. Johnny All Star was the better man that night, maybe the result would have been different any other night, but at Season’s Beatings he was the better man. And because of that, I am here to announce my retirement.”

***PLEASE DON’T GO!***

***PLEASE DON’T GO!***

***PLEASE DON’T GO!***

Cody Williams: “I lost fair and square, and I will uphold my end of the bargain. Look, off and on for 13 years I have bled sVo and carried its banner wherever I went. I have had a tremendous career here, and over the years some of us have come and gone. People like… Night.”

***NIGHT!!!***

***NIGHT!!!***

***NIGHT!!!***

Cody Williams: “People like… Roscoe Shame.”

***ROSCOE SHAME!!!***

***ROSCOE SHAME!!!***

Cody Williams: “And people like my rival… Nathan Paradine.”

***PARADINE!!!***

***PARADINE!!!***

***PARADINE!!!***

Cody Williams: “We have been called and referred to as the pillars of sVo as we proudly stuck with this company and built this company from the ground up. But as the sun has set for our careers, all of you, the fans have stuck with the sVo through thick and thin. And because of you, sVo is still alive and well.”

***S-V-O***

***S-V-O***

***S-V-O***

Cody Williams: “I have won Organized Chaos, I have won the Tag Team championship, TapOut Championship, a two-time International Champion, sVo Champion… Triple Crown… Grand Slam… And I couldn’t of had the career I’ve had without all of your support… So thank you! Thank you!”

***HALL OF FAME!***

***HALL OF FAME!***

***HALL OF FAME!***

“The Hollywood Rockstar” nods his head to the chants and flashes a smile.

Cody Williams: “If Jon Page and the sVo call and tell me that they want to induct me into the hall of fame, I will gladly accept and be on the first plane to Las Vegas!”

The capacity crowd erupts.

Cody Williams: “But now, as this chapter of my in-ring career has come to an end, I now get to be the person that I was meant to be. A Husband and a Father.”

He looks out into the crowd and the camera cuts to his Wife and child in the front row.

Cody Williams: “Sasha, thank you for your love and support throughout the years. You let me live out this dream of mine, and were with me every step of the way. You picked me up when I was down, and you gave me the motivation to keep pushing when times were rough. You made me see things in myself that I didn’t see. I love you so much. And Cody Jr. You got to see Daddy do his thing and be a super hero and role model to you and millions of other kids around the world. Thank you for allowing me to share myself with others and for gifting me with the greatest gift of all. Having you as my Son and being your Dad. But share time is over Son…”

He starts to tear up.

Cody Williams: “Daddy’s coming home…”

The shot cuts to his family at ringside who are in tears, blowing kisses to Cody and waving to him from their seats.

Cody Williams: “From the bottom of my heart.. To Jon Page, all of the boys in the back, everyone that I had the pleasure of sharing this ring with, and to all of you that have supported me and the sVo since day one. Thank you…”

He raises the microphone into the air and waves to the crowd. “Robot Rock” hits the sound system for the final time as he takes a bow at each side of the ring and blows kisses to the crowd before climbing out of the ring. He makes his way to ringside where he gives his wife Sasha a kiss and gives Cody Jr. a big hug.

***CODY WILLIAMS***

***CODY WILLIAMS***

(clap, clap, clap clap clap)

He makes his way around the ring and slaps hands with each and every fan as he starts heading up the ramp. He pauses for a few selfies with fans before he ends up settling at the top of the ramp. Cody’s eyes start to swell up once more as tears start to flow down his face. He closes his eyes and takes in a deep breath as he waves to the crowd for his final goodbye.

***THWAAAAAAACK!!!***

Suddenly he drops in a heap onto the rampway.

IT’S JOHNNY ALL STAR MORETTI!

HE JUST DECKED HIM WITH THE SVO CHAMPIONSHIP TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD!

CODY LIES ON THE GROUND, MOTIONLESS, UNCONSCIOUS BY THE VICIOUS ATTACK FROM THE SVO CHAMPION JOHNNY ALL STAR.

THAT SON OF A BITCH!

Johnny ‘All Star’ Moretti kneels besides Cody and slowly waves goodbye to him before whispering.

Johnny Moretti: “Na, na, na, na… Hey, hey, hey… Goodbye…”

He stands upright and holds the sVo Championship high into the air as the sVo Copyright logo appears on the bottom of the screen.

Cut.
