26th November 2012
Goodfella Casino Arena, Las Vegas Nevada

OPENING

There is a huge cheer in the Goodfellas Casino Arena as (S)aint by Marilyn Manson hits the sound system and the camera pans around the screaming fans that are packed into the arena. Gold strobe lighting flickers over the darkened arena as the frenzy builds with the fans all eager to see their favourite fighters in action. Highlights of past sVo action plays on the giant screen, before there is a run down of some of the matches that have already been announced for tonight, including the Victory Cup final matche between Frost and Woodrew Burbank, and the big return from Bobby Dean as he takes on James Von Drake in singles action!

MEET YOUR NIGHTMARE!
Ringside

“Fall Apart” By Twiztid erupts on the arena PA system. The lights begin to flicker as the fans in attendance rise to their feet and as one, erupt in a chorus of boos. Alicia crawls out on all fours from behind the black curtain with a grin ear to ear. Frost isn’t far behind as he comes marching out and wastes no time and makes his way straight to the ring. He jumps up onto the apron and climbs over the top rope. The music begins to fade out.

He signals for a microphone, as a chant erupts.

BRICKYARD!

BRICKYARD!

BRICKYARD!

Frost: “BRICKYARD!”

He roared into the microphone, as the chants continue on.

Frost: “Cheer him, that’s right. Give him that sense of false hope. You want the good guy to defeat the bad man.”

He raises his arms out, and listens to their cheers of their thought of him being defeated by Woodrew Burbank.

Frost: “And then go on to defeat another bad man at Retribution, right? The old good guy always prevails in the end routine shit. I’m the monster that according to books, always falls to his death in the final chapter. Except this time, this time it will be written different. The monster will prevail here tonight, like he did last week, and then week before that, and the week before that. Tonight, that Victory Cup isn’t yours…that Victory cup will be mine Burbank.”

He points with his thumb to his chest.

Frost: “Burbank tonight you will suffer a painful defeat, both physically and emotionally. You will not be the one to stop me…nobody will be the one to stop me. I am your fucking nightmare, the one which just don’t go away. I’m coming for ya Burbank, and I will use you to send a message to the man I’m coming for.”

The crowd boo as a devilish looking smile appeared on his face.

Frost: “Know this; hell will freeze over, starting tonight and carrying over to Retribution. This is thee era of FROST!”

He drops the Microphone, and turns to Alicia who stood on the outside mocking some ringside fans. “Fall Apart” began to play as Frost and Alicia made their exit.

ACCUSATIONS
Backstage

The scene opens up to the backstage area where we see the last sVo World Heavyweight Champion Nathan Paradine walking down the hallway. His face is filled with a perturbed snarl as he re-adjusts his sunglasses.

Voice: Nathan…

Paradine ignores the sound of his name and continues to walk.

Voice: NATHAN!

The increased volume of the unknown voice doesn’t budge Nathan, who doesn’t acknowledge it once again.

Voice: NATHAN!!!

Just then a hand reaches out onto Nathan’s shoulder from behind and spins him around. The person calling out his name is none other than his former Tag Team partner and bitter rival Cody Williams.

Cody Williams: I know you heard me the first time!

Paradine shoves Cody’s hand off of his shoulder and sticks his index finger in his face.

Nathan Paradine: Get your stinkin’ paw off of me.

Cody Williams: I know you have something to do with that attack on me last week.

Nathan Paradine: Me?

Cody Williams: Yeah you. You want me completely out of the picture. You know that I am coming for you and you want nothing to do with me. And you took it upon yourself to try and take me out by hiring those goons. I have every right to put my five knuckles upside your face right about now.

Paradine lets out a chuckle and shakes his head.

Nathan Paradine: Don’t flatter yourself sunshine. I have bigger things to worry about, like defeating the Victory Cup winner at Retribution. And that isn’t you now is it? Oh yeah that’s right, YOU LOST. Your chances at the sVo Championship are long gone. So do yourself a favor and get out of my way.

Nathan bumps into Cody with his shoulder as he passes him up. Cody watches him as he makes his way down the hallway.

Cody Williams: I’ll get my chance…

AN INVITATION
Backstage

The cameras open up backstage to a neatly dressed Matt Anderson sitting on a stool with a The Company backdrop behind him. He gets a cue to begin and he starts speaking.

Matt Anderson: “So nobody wants to be in The Company. Just last week I gave out an offer to anyone to be apart of the most dominant team in sVo history, and no one wants to accept the invite. You know, that’s a terrible mistake. The Company will once again be dominant and that’s with or without you.”

Matt Anderson pulls an envelope out of his pocket sitting it on his lap.

Matt Anderson: “That same invitation is out there I would like to help you get were you want to be. You just have to be willing.”

He stands from the stool waving the envelope at the camera.

Matt Anderson: “Don’t be scared. Be smart and join The Company.”

Matt Anderson walks away from the camera causing the broadcast to cut to a Retribuition commercial.

B.B.D – HE’S COMING!
Backstage

The scene heads backstage where sVo reporter is standing by in the parking lot with a camera crew close behind. A limo pulls into the parking lot and Tamara excitedly rushes up to the door as it opens, but seems disappointed as it turns out to be just another VIP guest heading into the sky box for the start of the show.

Tamara Boyd: “As of yet there is no sign of Bobby Dean ahead of his massively anticipated return tonight when he faces James Von Drake in one of the two main events tonight. As soon as he arrives I will bring your some exclusive words from the man himself. For now, back to ringside.”

Boyd looks disappointed as she slowly walks towards the entrance to the backstage area, not able to get her scoop on the return of BBD tonight as of yet.

SINGLE MATCH
Cain Jensen vs. Tripp Whipwreck
Officiated by referee Hector Arenda

The lights go dim as “Apocryphon” by The Sword begins to play throughout the venue and they kick in full force with strobe lights and green laser lights. Cain Jensen walks onto the stage with a cocky smirk on his face. He spins around once with his arms out and then raises the “devil horns” into the air. He makes his way down to the ring and jumps onto the apron and climbs through the ropes, quickly popping upright and throwing up the “devil horns” gesture once again as his theme music begins to fade.

“Hillbilly Joker” by Hank 3 plays as the lights flicker red and white, Tripp Whipwreck walks out onto the stage and walks down closely followed by William Vorheez. Receiving a mixture of boos and cheers. Whipwreck climbs into the ring taunting the crowd as he takes off his vest and hands it to Vorheez on the outside, the lights come up and the music fades.

The bell rings, and this one is quickly underway as both men make their way towards each other. Cain Jensen stares to the match off with some big right hands on Whipwreck to knock him backwards, before Whipwreck is able to block a punch from Jensen and fire back with some big punches of his own. Whipwreck backs Jensen into the middle of the ring, before grabbing him by the arm and shooting him into the ropes. Jensen bounces back into the middle of the ring, and Whipwreck catches him with a back elbow to the face.

Jensen stumbles away, but Whipwreck runs up and nails a massive punch to the back of the head to knock his opponent down to the mat. With Jensen down, Whipwreck stomps away on his opponent, and the crowd boo loudly. Jensen stumbles back up to his feet, but Whipwreck is straight back onto his opponent with a suplex to take him down to the mat. With Jensen on the mat, Whipwreck bounces into the ropes, before nailing a knee drop onto Jensen and making the cover.

One…

Two…

No!

It looked like the match was going to be all over right there, but Jensen manages to get a shoulder up off of the mat! Whipwreck grabs him by the hair and pulls him up to a standing position. Whipwreck shoots Jensen into the corner of the ring, and then begins to taunt to the fans. The fans boo loudly but Whipwreck flips them off to make them boo him even louder. Whipwreck finally turns his attention back towards his opponent, and runs at him looking for a splash in the corner, only for Jensen to dive out of the way! Whipwreck hits the turnbuckle hard, and Jensen quickly grabs him into a roll up!

One…

Two…

No!

Whipwreck manages to kick out just when it looked like Jensen was going to win the match with the roll up. Tripp Whipwreck forces his way up to a standing position, but Jensen is straight back onto him with a kick to the midsection. Whipwreck doubles over in pain, and Cain Jensen takes him down to the mat with a scoop slam. With Whipwreck down on the mat, Jensen lays into him with some massive mounted punches, before Whipwreck is able to push his opponent off of him. Whipwreck struggles to his feet, but Jensen doesn’t waste any time as he bounces into the ropes and hits a Lui Thesz press onto his opponent.

The fans cheer Cain Jensen on as he hits some mounted punches on Tripp Whipwreck before finally allowing his opponent to rise up to his feet. Whipwreck looks unsteady, but Cain Jensen wastes no time in sending him back down to the mat with a ‘Cataclysm’! There are loud cheers from the fans as Jensen drops down and makes the cover on Whipwreck.

However the referee is distracted from counting as William Vorheez jumps up onto the ring apron and tries to get involved in the match! The referee holds Vorheez back from entering the ring, causing boos from the fans as it looks like Cain Jensen has the three count now if only the referee was there to count! Cain Jensen looks pissed off as he rises up to his feet and marches over to the ring apron where William Vorheez is standing. Jensen aims a punch at Vorheez, but Vorheez ducks out of the way and jumps off of the ring apron and to the floor.

Vorheez continues to taunt Cain Jensen from the outside of the ring as the referee tries to restrain Jensen from getting out of the ring and attacking William Vorheez! With Jensen distracted, Tripp Whipwreck rises up to his feet behind the back of Jensen, before hitting him with a reverse DDT! Cain Jensen holds his head in pain as he slowly rises back up to his feet and the surprise move, but Whipwreck follows up the move with a kick to the midsection of Jensen and then a double arm DDT that spears his head into the mat.

Tripp Whipwreck rises up to his feet and taunts to the crowd, getting a mixed reaction from the Las Vegas locals as Cain Jensen lays on the mat in pain. Whipwreck grabs Jensen by the hair and pulls him up to a standing position before hoisting him up into the air. The crowd look impressed as Whipwreck holds Jensen in the air for a few seconds, before dropping him down to the mat on his head with a huge brainbuster!

William Vorheez cheers on his tag team partner from the outside of the ring as Tripp Whipwreck signals that he is ready to put an end to this match! The fans rise up to their feet as Tripp Whipwreck pulls a limp Cain Jensen up to a standing position, before loading him onto his shoulders. Tripp Whipwreck shows off his strength by holding Cain Jensen in position for a few seconds, before tossing him down to the mat with a huge ‘Kult Klassik’! Cain Jensen looks like he might have been knocked out from the mat as Tripp Whipwreck rolls across to make the cover on his opponent.

One,

Two,

THREE!

It’s all over, and after that huge ‘Kult Klassik’ its no suprise that it is Tripp Whipwreck who picks up the win in the opening match on Showdown! Whipwreck rises quickly up to his feet and has his hand raised in the air in victory, but as he does he is joined in the ring by his tag team partner William Vorheez who slides in under the bottom rope.

Vorheez quickly turns his attention to Cain Jensen and begins to stomp away on the fighter from Raleigh, North Carolina. The fans boo the beat down as Whipwreck quickly joins his partner and Drunk and Disorderly beat down Cain Jensen after the match has finished! Tripp Whipwreck pulls up his defeated opponent, before passing him up to his tag team partner William Vorheez, who puts an exclamation point in the victory with the ‘Wrath of Vorheez’! With Cain Jensen a broken man in the middle of the ring, Drunk and Disorderly stand tall with their hands raised in victory after an impressive win.

Winner by pinfall – Tripp Whipwreck (8:38)

THE DANGERS OF SMOKING
Backstage

After the big win for Tripp Whipwreck over Cain Jensen, the cameras head backstage where Tobias Devereux steps out of his locker room ready for his match tonight against Joshua Curtis & Sara Pettis, with the winner getting a Las Vegas title shot next week against Wrecker at Retribution!

There is a big cheer for the ‘Cajun Sensation’ as the fans see him on the giant screen, however out of nowhere is he knocked to the floor from behind. The figure who knocked him down suddenly begins to stomp violently on the head of Tobias Devereux as boos ring out around the arena.

Devereux looks hurt as the stranger pulls out a packet of cigarettes from his pocket and lights one up. The attacker takes a puff on the cigerette, before walking away from the beaten body of Tobias Devereux. As medics rush to the aid of the Cajun Sensation, the laughter of the attacker can be heard from a distance down the corridor.

Just who was that the took out Tobias Devereux?

THE JANITOR
Backstage

Jon Page is shown standing backstage next to an elderly man dressed in a janitor’s uniform. Page is scowling as he reads over a crumpled note of paper.

Jon Page: “You’re sure you found this in the men’s locker room?”

Janitor: “Yessir. I was just sweeping, and, well… I just picked it up by chance. I saw it had writing on it, I thought maybe one of the wrestlers might have left it behind by accident. When I saw what it said, I decided to bring it to you.”

Jon Page: “That son of a…”

Page tucks the paper away inside his suit and pulls out his cell phone, quickly dialing in a number and holding the phone to his ear.

Jon Page: “Get security to find Nathan Paradine right now, understand me? Bring him to my office!”

Page ends the call and gives the janitor a curt nod before walking off-screen.

A FAMILIAR FACE
Backstage

We’re at the parking lot where a large crowd is gathering. Someone, or something, seems to have caught the attention of some people, as photographers at the event snap away wildly.

A car straightens its parking out, before coming to a halt. There is no activity for almost a minute or so before the driver of the limo steps out. Whoever is in there surely wanted a grand, attention-seeking entrance. The driver walks over to the back of the vehicle, using one arm to create a distance between himself and the eager photographers. With the other arm, he slowly pulls open the door.

There he was – a familiar face. Apart from the new hairstyle, not much else had changed. Clean shaven, a golden tan, and a fancy three-piece suit. He smiles arrogantly at the growing crowd, lifting his sunglasses so they rest on his head. ‘Romeo’ Ruster Reno has had two stints in the past here in the sVo. Once in 2008, and once in 2010.

Ruster Reno: “Easy, easy. Back away. If you haven’t purchased tickets, you shouldn’t even dream of being this close to me. And I know you haven’t got tickets – because there were no tickets.”

He pushes past several microphones and tape recorders and heads towards the entrance of the arena.

Ruster Reno: wYou will all get your chance to hear me – just not right now. So calm down everyone, and stop wetting your pants. I’m back in the sVo, and that’s all you need to know to put your stories together. And for those who took photos of me, well… get used to some crazy buy-offers to come your way. Y’all are about to become real rich.”

He walks through the doors and out of everyone’s sight.

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED
Backstage

Showdown heads backstage to the locker room of James Von Drake, or more precisely outside the locker room of James Von Drake where sVo reporter is standing by with the wife and manager of the former Las Vegas Champion, Lucy Von Drake.

Tamara Boyd: “Lucy, tonight the whole of the sVo is excited about the return of ‘Beautifal’ Bobby Dean as he faces JVD in his first match in an sVo ring for nearly two years. How does JVD feel to be going up against Dean with such hype surrounding the match?”

Lucy stares at Tamara Boyd, like a lioness eyeing up her competition.

Lucy Von Drake: “James isn’t going to get caught up in all the hype. Sure BBD is a big name who has achieved a lot here in the sVo, but its just another match for James. A little warm up if you will for facing Roscoe Shame at Retribution next week.”

Tamara Boyd: “Speaking of Roscoe Shame he cost JVD the Las Vegas title last week by tossing him through a table after JVD had eliminated Roscoe Shame from the match. Is JVD worried about him getting involved in tonight’s match considering Roscoe Shame and BBD used to be Tag Team Champions together?”

Lucy laughs and quickly shakes her head.

Lucy Von Drake: “James isn’t worried at all. He is focused which is why he is in there preparing and I am out here talking to you. Roscoe Shame can get involved if he wants, James will take them both out. Roscoe Shame is a coward, he hasn’t even accepted our invitation for a match next week. If he doesn’t soon we will have to go to Jon Page and get him to book the match. How will that look on Roscoe Shame?”

Before Tamara Boyd can follow up with another question, both women freeze as the large figure of the former sVo Champion Roscoe Shame looms over them with a smile on his face. Roscoe Shame stares at Lucy Von Drake for a few seconds.

Roscoe Shame: “Consider the challenge accepted…”

Shame laughs as he smacks the backside of Lucy Von Drake before slowly walking away from the scene, causing an enraged Lucy Von Drake to storm back into the locker room of JVD and slam the door behind her.

LAS VEGAS CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDERSHIP MATCH
Sara Pettis vs. Joshua Curtis
Officiated by referee Nick Jaxx

“Crawling” by Linkin Park begins to play, as the house lights go down in the arena. Blue spotlights illuminate the stage as from the back steps Sara Pettis. She walks out with her head down to the end of the ramp. White sparks begin to rain down on her as the spotlight transitions from blue to white. She raises her head, looking down at the ring. She begins to walk down the ramp, ignoring fans trying to reach out for a high five. She gets to the ring and climbs up onto the ring apron. She looks around slowly before climbing into the ring between the top and middle rope. The spotlight continues to follow her as she paces in the ring for bit before the house lights return to normal.

As “Desert Apple” plays over the PA Joshua walks out from behind the curtain and bows to the audience as he walks down the ramp and around the ring meeting with some of the fans before stopping at one fan in particular and producing a rose for them and giving the lucky lady a kiss on the cheek.

With Tobias Devereux being taken out of action by that brutal attack earlier in the evening, Sara Pettis and Joshua Curtis now square off against each other in singles action with the winner going on to fight for the sVo Las Vegas Championship belt at Retribution next week!

Pettis jumps up onto the second rope before landing a knee to the face of Curtis, causing the newcomer to drop to the mat. Curtis, who nearly won the Las Vegas title himself last week, quickly rises up to his feet, but is grabbed in a front face lock by Pettis. Pettis tries to lift Curtis up into a suplex, however Curtis is able to block the move.

Pettis once again attempts a suplex, however Curtis manages to block the move once again before clotheslining Pettis down to the mat! Pettis struggles to rise back up to her feet, but as she does Curtis is there waiting for her with a hammerlock slam. The move seems to have knocked the wind out of Pettis as she struggles up, only to receive some stiff punches to the back from Joshua Curtis. Curtis shows just how much he wants to be in the Las Vegas title match at Retribution as he allows Pettis to rise up to two feet, before hitting a ‘Coat of Arms’ onto Sara Pettis! With Curtis down, Pettis taunts to the fans before making her way to the top rope! The fans cheer Sara Pettis on as she taunts to them from the top rope, before leaping off looking for a ‘Moonstomp’ on Curtis! However Curtis seems to see the move coming as he rolls out of the way! The crowd cheer loudly for the huge move from Pettis as she makes the cover!

It looked like it was all over there and that it was going to be a Sara Pettis vs. Wrecker match at Retribution, but Joshua Curtis kicks out! Pettis looks at Curtis and can’t believe that he kicked out as she makes another quick cover, only to get another three count. As she rises up to her feet and wonders what she has to do in order to put away her opponent, Pettis stomps away on Joshua Curtis.

Curtis slowly rises up to his feet, and Pettis throws him hard into the ropes. Curtis bounces back into the middle of the ring, but as Pettis attempts a back body drop, Curtis counters with another ‘Coat of Arms’! The fans cheer for the big move from Joshua Curtis as Sara Pettis staggers up to her feet. Pettis staggers forward, but walks straight into a ‘Beheading’ from the man from Japan! The fans cheer for the move as Curtis rolls over Pettis and hooks the leg of the blue haired warrior to make the cover.

One,

Two,

It’s all over and it is Joshua Curtis who pulls off the big win against Sara Pettis! PLANS
Backstage

The cameras open up inside Matt Anderson’s office. He sits at his desk with his feet propped on it sitting back in the roller chair. He wiggles his feet to the melody of the classical music playing.

Knock Knock Knock.

Matt Anderson: “Come in.”

The door opens up and in steps Colt Cooper already dressed for his upcoming match with Wrecker.

Matt Anderson: “Ah yes, my jewel, Colt, have a seat.”

Matt Anderson takes his feet from off of the desk sitting up in it. He straightens up his collar then turning the music down.

Matt Anderson “You know Jon Page so badly wants Cody Williams in the Retribution Main Event for the sVo Championship right.”

Colt Cooper: “Yeah.”

Matt Anderson: “What if I told you I have a plan to get you in the picture aswell.”

Colt Cooper’s face light up.

Colt Cooper: “That would be great because then it would be a real Main Event. Everyone knows that I should be in the sVo Title picture anyway.”

Matt Anderson: “Tonight I’ll put that plan in effect. You just go out there and beat Wrecker.”

Colt Cooper stands from the chair nodding in approval to Matt Anderson. Just as he is about to leave Matt Anderson stops him.

Matt Anderson: “By the way, that guy you wanted me to find I did. Wants us to come by after Showdown.”

Once more Colt Cooper nods his head exiting Matt Anderson’s office. Matt sits back in the chair, propping his feet back up on the desk. He turns the radio back up and begins vibing to the music.

SINGLE MATCH
Colt Cooper vs. Wrecker
Officiated by referee Hector Arenda

The cameras switch to a shot backstage, showing Henry Edgar Shaw with the Las Vegas title belt over his shoulder, waiting to make his way out to the ring. He looks rather apprehensive as he paces back and forth. He can hear the fans at ringside roaring and cheering, which only adds to his anxiety. Suddenly, the opening guitar rift of “Fuck You Puto (Xeneizes Version)” by Quarashi begins to play over the PA system, and Henry Edgar stops dead in his tracks. He stares straight ahead at the curtain, and slowly, the emotion leaves his eyes. He quickly pulls his shirt off over his head, and pulls the elastic from his hair, letting it flow freely.

As the music gets heavier, he marches out to the stage and stops at the top of the ramp. His gaze never wanders as he continues to stare straight ahead at the ring. The lyrics begin, and Wrecker quickly stomps down to the ring and climbs up the steps. He gets to one knee and slowly lowers his head before the lights dim, and boom using all four turnbuckles one big Star erupts followed by a cameo of pink and blue cameo. Colt gets back to his feet and begins to circle the ring once more this time getting himself focused for his match.

The referee signals for the bell with Cooper and Wrecker circling the ring opposite each other. Both men are waiting for the other to make the first move and it is Cooper who eventually moves for Wrecker. Cooper and Wrecker lock up in the center of the ring with a collar and elbow tie up, but with neither gaining any significant advantage the two release the lock and begin circling once more.

The two lock up once more with Wrecker quickly irish whipping Cooper into the far ropes. As Cooper rebounds off the ropes Wrecker nails a gut-wrenching sidewalk slam, sending Cooper down onto the mat. Cooper rolls to his feet quickly recovering as Wrecker ducks out of the ring. He climbs back into the ring and swings at Cooper, however Cooper ducks and swings around with a kick to the back of Wrecker’s head. Wrecker staggers forward, only to swing back around with an elbow to Cooper’s head, following up with a kick to Cooper’s midsection. Cooper is back on his feet down and he runs at Wrecker, however Wrecker throws up his arm and rakes it across Cooper’s face. Cooper clutches his face. As Cooper lowers his arms Wrecker headbutts Copper! Wrecker walks over to his opponent and grabs him by the hair. Cooper attempts to fight back, elbowing Wrecker in the ribs and following it up with a snap suplex. Both men are out on the mat.

Winner by pinfall – Wrecker (11:07)

AN UNLIKELY SAVE
Ringside

With the match finished, the fans cheer Wrecker as he backs up the entrance ramp with the Las Vegas title belt in his hands, however out of nowhere Matt Anderson appears and grbas the Las Vegas Champion from behind! Anderson throws Wrecker back into the ring as Colt Cooper rises up to his feet.

Matt Anderson grabs a steel chair from ringside and climbs into the ring himself, as Colt Cooper grabs hold of Wrecker from behind. The fans boo loudly as Colt Cooper holds Wrecker, as Anderson prepares to clean him out with the steel chair!

However ‘the Company’ are interrupted as “Desert Apple” By Versailles Philharmonic Quintet hits the sound system and Joshua Curtis storms down the entrance ramp to the ring with a steel chair of his own! Colt Cooper and Matt Anderson don’t seem to want any part of Curtis with a chair as he slides into the ring and they wisely high tail it through the crowd and live to fight another day.

As Joshua Curtis chases the Company over the security barrier, the Las Vegas Champion Wrecker stares back at Joshua Curtis, the man he will face for the title at Retribution, wondering why he has come to his aid.

ON THE HUNT FOR THE BEAUTIFAL ONE
Backstage

As the scene heads backstage after the surprise save of Wrecker by Joshua Curtis, sVo reporter Tamara Boyd is still on the case of the returning Bobby Dean. Up in one of the executive boxes there is a large baby blue banner hanging from the ceiling with the words ‘Welcome home BBD’ in white.

Tamara Boyd: “Did BBD manage to sneak past me and get up here to his party?”

As Tamara Boyd investigates the scene there are bottles of Jack Daniels and sleeping hookers on every surface, however no sign of the man himself. Tamara Boyd backs out of the room looking slightly disgusted, trying not to wake any hookers as she goes.

POWER STRUGGLE
Backstage

Nathan Paradine is shown sitting in Jon Page’s office, surrounded by half a dozen security guards. He looks decidedly bored by the situation, but instantly becomes alert when the door swings open to reveal a flustered Page.

Jon Page: “All of you, out!”

The security guards quickly file out of the room, leaving Page and Paradine alone. Page pulls out the crumpled sheet of paper and places it on his desk.

Jon Page: “Recognize that?”

Paradine raises his eyebrow and shrugs.

Nathan Paradine: “And to think I thought you dragged me here to find out who the masked men were. Seems like you’ve been doing a bit of investigating on your own, eh?”

Jon Page: “I know you’re working for some benefactor, Nathan. Why did you offer to find those masked men if you knew who they were?”

Nathan Paradine: “I needed to get back into the main event at Retribution. I’m not above selling out a few to benefit myself.”

Jon Page: “Are they working for you?”

Nathan Paradine: “I think it’s fair to say they’re working for themselves, and doing a bang-up job of it too. I shouldn’t have a problem with whoever walks out of the Victory Cup tonight.”

Jon Page: “And what if I take you out of the match now?”

Nathan Paradine: “A week before the event? The finalists in the Victory Cup are unknowns. I highly doubt you’d risk the entire event with a few green recruits in the main match. Like it or not, people are paying to see me.”

Jon Page: “And what if I replaced you with another big name? Cody Williams, for example?”

Paradine scowls.

Nathan Paradine: “I don’t think we understand each other, Jon. The reason this is happening, these attacks, this little… power struggle, it’s all because you took away my title belt. I’m not afraid to break the sVo to get what I want, you see. These men… they’re nothing. Unlike me, they don’t have the spine to do whatever it takes to achieve their goals. Take me off Retribution, and I can promise that your problems will only intensify.”

Jon Page: “If I keep you in the match, will these attacks stop?”

Nathan Paradine: “The attacks will stop when the sVo Championship is around my waist again, understand? I have the support I need to make a legitimate claim. Throw whoever you want against me, whether it be Cody Williams or another simple-minded fool desperate for their “big shot”. This is only the start.”

Jon Page: “Get out.”

Paradine smirks and stands up, sauntering out of the office with an air of confidence. Page holds out his arms and stops him before he can leave the room.

Jon Page: “If you want to fight, better bring you best. I will make your life hell, you understand me? I’ll break you.”

Nathan Paradine: “I guess we’ll find that out, won’t we?”

Page releases Paradine and he exits the office, slamming the door shut behind him.

BUSINESS DECISION

We go backstage where Tamara Boyd is standing with sVo’s return superstar, ‘Romeo’ Ruster Reno. She momentarily loses focus as she stares away at Reno, the former New York Model of the Year. Reno clicks his fingers in her face, startling her as she quickly attempts to regain concentration, going red in the face in the process.

Tamara Boyd: “Oh, uhm, hi.”

Reno raises his eyebrows at her.

Ruster Reno: “Oh, uhm, hi? Oh, uhm, hi? What is the matter with you?”

Tamara Boyd: “I’m sorry, I was-“

Ruster Reno: “What is your name?”

Tamara Boyd: “It’s – it’s Tamara. Tamara Boyd.”

He pauses for a moment, a grin growing on his face.

Ruster Reno: “Are you in love with me?”

If her mind was elsewhere earlier, it’s surely back now.

Tamara Boyd: “What? In love?! No!”

Ruster Reno: “You are, Tamara. You’ve never seen anything like me in your life. Are you married, Tamara?”

Tamara Boyd: “Actually-“

Ruster Reno: “Do you have a boyfriend?”

Tamara Boyd: “Well-“

Ruster Reno: “It’s irrelevant, actually. Married, single, divorced, it doesn’t matter. I’m an award-winning model, Tamara. I get who I want, including you. That’s if I wanted you.”

She ignores his comments, bringing the interview back to its original purpose.

Tamara Boyd: “Reno, you’ve been away for a while. It was only on the internet that rumors began to surface regarding your return. Where have you been, and why now?”

He looks at her and smiles.

Ruster Reno: “Why now, you ask. Well, Tamara, as you already know I was here in the sVo more or less exactly two years ago, give or take a week or two. So I know this place inside out. I remember the days when you used to walk past me in the back, a million thoughts running through your mind about what you wanted to do to me. I remember the sVo superstars, the cleaners, the camera crew, technicians, the owners, I remember them all. When I heard the sVo was to return, I knew there was only one place for me to be. And that’s right here. You see Boyd, I’ve seen some of the superstars this time round. And you have to admit, they are some of the ugliest things walking on this planet.”

Tamara stares at his blankly.

Ruster Reno: “They say wrestling is predominantly a man’s hobby. Well of course it is when you see some of the faces here. Jon Page wants me here for one reason. Because he wants a bigger audience. He doesn’t just want men and their sons to tune in. He wants their wives and daughters to follow this place aswell. And that’s exactly what will be happening. The ladies now have a reason to watch this show, and they finally have someone they can admire and dream about.”

He winks at the camera before flicking his sunglasses back down, covering his eyes. He strokes Tamara’s hair and brushes past her, away from the camera.

THE NEXT STEP
Backstage

We are backstage in front of the sVo Showdown interviewing area where interviewer and correspondent Tamara Boyd is standing by. She raises a microphone up to her mouth and begins to talk.

Tamara Boyd: Ladies and gentlemen, joining me at this time is “The Reflection of Perfection” Cody Williams!

He emerges from the right side of the camera and paces back and forth, rubbing his hands together before coming to a halt on the side of Tamara. He is wearing a charcoal gray, custom tailored suit, lavender dress shirt and a plaid check tie.

Tamara Boyd: Cody, last week you fell short against Woodrew “Brickyard” Burbank in the semi-finals of the Victory Cup tournament. What has been running through your mind since then.

Cody takes a moment, turns his head to Tamara and pulls her hand in close so the microphone is in front of his mouth.

Cody Williams: I was confident… Very confident that I would steam roll the competition, participate in the finals tonight and win the Victory Cup, and then go on to headline the sVo’s first pay per view in over a year and a half… And go one on one against Nathan Paradine for the sVo World Heavyweight Championship. But things ended up differently didn’t they?

Tamara nods her head.

Cody Williams: I was a little too confident and that backfired. Woodrew capitalized on my over confidence, came into the match determined to make a statement and he did just that. I congratulate you Woodrew and wish you luck in your match tonight.

Tamara Boyd: Now the question everyone wants to know is, where does Cody Williams go from here?

Cody reaches up to his face and removes his designer sunglasses, folds them up and places them into his left breast pocket.

Cody Williams: Where do I go from here? There is only one place for me to go and that is up. There is a saying, if at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again. And that is just what I will be doing, picking myself up, dusting myself off and continue pressing forward. And I will not stop until I reach my full potential, and that is to become the sVo World Heavyweight Champion! I will do whatever it takes, I will stop at nothing, and one way or another, I will reach the top of the mountain!

Tamara Boyd: So what is he next step in your journey?

Cody flashes a grin.

Cody Williams: Well, you’re just going to have to sit back and wait and see.

He pops his arms out and adjusts his sleeves as he flashes a wink and gives the double guns to Tamara before walking out of sight.

Officiated by referee Nick Jaxx

“Fall Apart” by Twiztid erupts on the arena PA system, just as the lights begin to flicker. The crowd begins to boo as Alicia Frost emerges first from the black curtain, followed by Frost. They walk a few steps before stopping as Alicia leans her head against Frost side and gentle rubs his lower back. Frost raises his arm and slowly cuts his throat with his thumb, and then throws his hand towards the ground. He takes Alicia by her hand and begins his walk to ringside as he lets out this loud roar of anger. He pulls Alicia in front of him and picks her up and lifts her up onto the ringside apron, before pulling himself up and following. Frost takes a stance in the middle of the ring, and lets out one louder roar of anger. Music fades out.

Clap clap clap!!!

Matt Anderson and Colt Cooper stands backstage with a camera crew. Both men smiling as the fans inside the arena boo them.

Matt Anderson: “Congratulations to the winner of The Ultimate Victory. I’m pretty sure everyone is glad that that main event is over. You thought that was talent?”

Colt Cooper laughs while nodding his head.

Matt Anderson: “Talent is right here. Right here in The Company, and it looks like everyone is afraid to be apart of it. Not one man has accept my invitation. What, all you guys pussies?”

Colt Cooper shakes his head.

Matt Anderson: “But we have no worries, because we are smart intelligent men. I’m smarter than Jon Page, and Colt Cooper is the soon to be face of the sVo.”

Matt Anderson grabs Colt Cooper by the chin squishing his cheeks in together.

Matt Anderson: “Look at this face!!!”

Matt Anderson let’s go off Colt’s chin.

Matt Anderson: “And this is the face I demand to be in a number one contendership match for the sVo Championship at Retribution.”

The boos begin to pour in from inside the arena once again.

Matt Anderson: “So Jon Page, book the match. Place anybody of your chosing who you feel is worthy enough to lose to Colt Cooper, because that’s what’s going to happen. The Company means buisness, and we will demand respect.”

Colt Cooper: “Tick tock, tick tock.”

Colt Cooper flashes his wrist at the camera pointing at his watch. He sticks his middle finger up and followed up with another one.

Colt Cooper: “Company Out.”

As the Company leave the scene, will Jon Page give Colt Cooper a shot at becoming the number one contender to the sVo Championship. Or does Jon Page has something else in mind for Colt Cooper and Matt Anderson?

SINGLE MATCH
Bobby Dean vs. James Von Drake
Officiated by referee Hector Arenda

There are boos in the arena as ‘JVD’ flashes up on the giant screen and the arena is basked in a pink glow. “All My Life” by Foo Fighters blares out as James Von Drake walks out, with his wife Lucy Von Drake as always by his side. JVD signals to the crowd before walking down to the ring and sliding in. JVD holds his arms in the air in the middle of the ring as Lucy Von Drake stands outside the ring clapping on her husband.

With James Von Drake in the ring, the eyes of the sold out Las Vegas crowd turn to the entrance ramp as they eagerly anticipate the return to action of one of the sVo’s most infamous sons ‘Beautiful’ Bobby Dean! After twnety seconds of keeping the crowd waiting, Joe Esposito’s “You’re The Best Around” hits the sound system and a huge roar goes out over the Goodfellas Casino Arena as the entrance video of Bobby Dean plays on the Violence-Tron!

JVD warms up in the middle of the ring trying to ignore the hype as the lights flash on the entrance ramp, however there is no sign of the man himself. After a few seconds the music shuts off leaving JVD looking confused and the fans in the Goodfellas Casino Arena booing loudly.

JVD asks the referee what is going on, and the referee shrugs his shoulders looking none the wiser himself. The fans continue to boo loudly until a ‘BBD, BBD, BBD!’ chant sounds up around the Goodfellas Casino Arena. The chant continues for a good minute until suddenly the flash entrance starts up again and Joe Esposito’s “You’re The Best Around” blasts over the sound system again!

Again the fans in the arena pop as BBD’s video plays over the Violence-Tron, but once again there is no sign of the man himself and the music shuts down after thirty seconds.

In the ring JVD has a smirk on his face as he turns to the referee and demands that he raises his hand in victory after the non appearance of his opponent. The referee looks reluctant as boos ring out around the arena. The boos only intensify as the referee raises the arm of James Von Drake in the air in victory!

However as JVD celebrates his ‘Victory’ in the ring, Roscoe Shame leaps out of the crowd behind him and slides into the ring! The cheers alert JVD to the fact that something is going on, but its too late as he turns straight into a huge big boot from Roscoe Shame! Shame looks pumped up fresh off his win over Loki Synn as he allows JVD to pull himself up using the ring ropes, before clotheslining him clean over the top rope and to the floor below!

Roscoe Shame is cheered on by the fans as he makes his way over to the announcers table and sends them scattering as he starts pulling monitors out of the desk and tossing them to the floor! JVD tries to fight back with some right hands to the former sVo Champion, but Shame cuts him off with a kick to the midsection before stepping over the one time Victory Cup holder! The crowd pop as Roscoe Shame lifts JVD up into the air and throws him through the announcers table with a ‘Shame Time’ powerbomb!

Lucy Von Drake looks stunned as she watches on whilst Roscoe Shame stands over the broken body of JVD! The crowd may have been up in arms about the non appearance of the promised Bobby Dean, but they certainly just got what they wanted after seeing JVD tossed through a table at the hands of Roscoe Shame for the second week running! With the rivalry between the two men now at boiling point, will they be able to resolve their differences next week at Retribution?

Showdown #87
Goodfellas Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada
11/12/2012

VICTORIOUS
Ringside

‘Fucking in the Bushes’ by Oasis hits the sound system and there is a mixed reaction from the crowd as sVo Owner Jon Page slowly makes his way out onto the top of the entrance ramp. Page holds his arms up in the air to signal to the crowd before making his way down towards the ring. Page climbs up into the ring, which has been transformed with red carpet over the mat, and the Victory Cup trophy standing on a stand in the middle of the ring. Jon Page gets a microphone from ringside and waits for the Las Vegas crowd to quieten down before speaking.

Jon Page: “Ladies and Gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to introduce to you the NEW Victory Cup Champion, Woodrew ‘Brickyard’ Burbank!!”

‘Brick’ by Albert Collins hits the sound system and there are cheers from the fans as Woodrew Burbank slowly walks out onto the top of the entrance ramp. Burbank still looks beaten and bruised from his earlier encounter with Frost in the final of the Victory Cup tournament as he makes his way down to the ring.

Burbank steps into the ring and looks out at the sea of fans chanting his name. Jon Page picks the Victory Cup trophy up and passes it to Woodrew Burbank who lifts it in the air in victory! The fans cheer as Burbank lifts the trophy. Burbank then puts the trophy under his arm and is handed the microphone by Jon Page. Burbank brings the microphone to his mouth to address the fans, but before he can “Carmina Burana” begins to play over the sound system as Nathan Paradine emerges from backstage with a microphone in hand, shrouded by smoke. Slowly he walks out onto the ramp with his arms outstretched, his head turned towards the roof, basking in the reaction from the crowd. He climbs into the ring via the steel stairs, pausing only to slide his sunglasses off his face and place them on the ring apron before stepping between the ropes.

Nathan Paradine: “Woodrew, I would also like to extend my congratulations to you. We are going to have one hell of a match at Retribution next week for that sVo Championship belt… my sVo Championship belt!”

Burbank stares down Paradine, obviously unhappy that he has interrupted his moment of receiving the trophy he has fought hard to win.

Nathan Paradine: “Now Page, as we finally have the Victory Cup winner crowned, let’s get that contract signed for the match next week and all put to bed.”

Page stares at Paradine for a few seconds, before slowly nodding, the surprise of the former sVo Champion. Page reaches into his jacket pocket and pulls out a folded document along with a silver pen, before passing them to Nathan Paradine.

Nathan Paradine: “I’m glad you saw sense Page. Woodrew, if you want to do the honours? It is your moment after all. Let me know if you need any help spelling your name.”

Burbank stares down Paradine once again, but doesn’t bite as he places the trophy at his feet for a few seconds before taking the contract and scribbling his name on it against the trophy stand before handing it back to Paradine. Paradine takes the contract and does like wise.

Nathan Paradine: “There, all settled. Woodrew Burbank vs. Nathan Paradine for the sVo Championship next week at Retribution…”

Nathan Paradine: “Actually…”

Paradine and Burbank turn and stare at Page as he speaks.

Jon Page: “Your only half right there. You see in order to sell more PPV’s I decided that we needed a bit more star power in the match. Its not a secret that I don’t want you as Champion Nathan. Hell the sVo needs a superstar fighter as Champion to bring in the crowds, we can’t have this guy ‘Brickyard’ as Champion either! Therefore this week I made provisions to make sure the fans get to see everything they want. I went ahead and made this a triple threat match!”

Suddenly Cody Williams bursts out from under the trophy stand and nails Paradine from behind! Cody Williams pulls the contract from the hands of Nathan Paradine and scribbles his own name on it as well!

Jon Page: “There we go. Triple threat match, Burbank vs Paradine vs Williams! Sounds much better! Just for good measure I will throw myself in as a referee, just to make sure everything goes down correctly.”

Cody Williams hands the contract to Jon Page, and he signs his own name on it over the body of Nathan Paradine. Paradine jumps up to his feet and runs at Jon Page, however he is cut off with a big right hand from Cody Williams! Cody Williams turns looking very pleased with himself, but out of nowhere he is smacked over the back of the head by Woodrew Burbank with the Victory Cup trophy! The fans cheer Woodrew Burbank on as the Victory Cup winner stands over Paradine and Williams with his trophy and stares at Page!

DO IT! DO IT! DO IT!

The fans urge Woodrew Burbank on as a worried looking Jon Page shakes his head and tries to reason with the Victory Cup winner. Burbank looks down at Paradine and Williams before looking back at Page. With the thoughts of Page’s earlier comments no doubt running through his head, Woodrew Burbank nails the owner of the sVo over the head with the Victory Cup! The fans cheer loudly as Woodrew Burbank stands over all three men with the Victory Cup in his hands as sVo Showdown heads off of the air!
