SHOWDOWN!

As the camera pans around the sold out arena, Pretty Vegas by INXS begins to blast out over the sound system as the sVo Showdown opening video rolls on the giant V-Tron! The crowd goes wild for the video, featuring action from top sVo stars such as Psyko Stevo, Gunner Lang, Chris Bond and Alex Ross! As the video begins to come to an end, the cameras begin to pan around the crowd as the fans jump up and down trying to get seen on TV! The announcer’s welcome the fans watching on TV to the latest Showdown episode as the camera pick out various signs in the crowd, including ‘There is no (Bad) Religion!’, ‘I Love the Sex Symbols’ and ‘Jon Page is hiding at my house’! As the official sVo Showdown theme music begins to fade out, the attention of the fans turns towards the V-Tron on the top of the entrance stage as they eagerly anticipate tonight’s action getting underway.

Feeling Presidential

“Look, I don’t care who you want to see, just get your ass to my office right now. I own you now!”

The screaming voice of course came from sVo’s very own ‘President’ Paige as she sat back in the chair behind her desk with a phone pressed to her ear. Paige shook her head in the direction of the head of security Scott Love who was towering over her as she placed the phone down on her desk.

“You want me to regulate his punk ass boss?”

Scott Love spoke in his deep voice and pounded his hand with his fist as he approached the desk.

“Don’t worry. He is coming in on his own. They won’t know what has hit them.”

Paige shared a laugh with Scott as she looked down at the Las Vegas title what was laying on her desk, the very title she stripped from Bad Religion member Travis Williams last week.

“Now all I have to do is find out who is deserving of this….”

Overlooked

The scene opens up backstage to the Sunday Night Showdown backdrop where interviewer and correspondent Candi Cross is standing by. She smiles for the camera and raises the microphone up to her mouth.

Candi Cross: Ladies and gentlemen, I am being joined now by YOUR sVo World Heavyweight champion, Psyko Stevo. Thank you for joining me this evening Stevo.

The camera shot pans out, revealing Psyko Stevo standing next to Candi Cross with the sVo championship draped over his shoulder. He gives the title a quick glance and gives a smile of approval.

Psyko Stevo: Thank you for having me.

Candi Cross: Tonight, you go up against the man who you will face at our next pay per view, Countdown to Violence, Alex Ross in a tag team match. Where the winner will be given the opportunity to name the stipulations for the championship match. How are you feeling going into this match tonight?

Psyko Stevo: I am feeling great. I am in the best shape of my life, I am at the top of my game and most importantly I am on top of the mountain. Alex Ross is a great competitor, there is no denying that, and he is well deserving of the number one contendorship. Whether or not he can make best of his oppotunities, we will have to wait and see.

Voice: Whoa, whoa, whoa…

A voice is heard coming from the background, coming closer to where Candi and Stevo are standing. Cody Williams appears in the shot, wearing a brand new 220: Second to None t-shirt available now in the sVo shop for only $19.95!!! He comes up behind Stevo and stares at the back of his head. Recognizing the voice, Stevo smirks and turns around to greet Cody.

Cody Williams: Alex Ross deserving of the number one contendorship? Stevo, come on. You know and I know, that if anyone deserves a shot at YOUR title, it’s the reflection of perfection.

Psyko Stevo: And why is that?

Cody Williams: I defeated some of the top draws and top names the sVo has to offer. Kelly Flawless, I handed him his first singles loss. Your opponent Alex Ross, I defeated him for the International championship and broke his neck in the process. And more importantly than that, I defeated YOU! So that number one contendorship should be MINE! So Alex Ross needs to be like Hilary Clinton and pull out of the race and let a REAL MAN do the job.

Psyko Stevo: So you..

Just then Nathan Paradine rushes into the shot and stands toe to toe with Cody Williams. He takes off his sunglasses and stares deep into the eyes of Cody, who returns back with a mean mug of his own. Stevo smirks at the tension between Paradine and Williams and discreetly walks away. The camera zooms in on the faces of Cody and Nathan who are still standing face to face.

Nathan Paradine: Instead of worrying about could haves and should haves, you should worry about the present and what you have in store for you tonight. Because if you want to even see a chance at any championship gold whatsoever, like say, the Hardcore title.. Then you’re going to have to go through me first. And trust me when I say, it won’t be easy.

Paradine puts his sunglasses back on and gives a sarcastic smile towards Cody before exiting. Cody’s eyes follow Nathan Paradine walking off in the distance. Cody’s face fills with a smile from ear to ear and nods his head. He then shakes his head and lightly chuckles before leaving the scene. The camera shot pans upwards and zooms in on the Showdown logo before fading to black.

The Arrival

The speculation mounted in the arena as the fans in attendance watched the action unfold on the giant V-Tron as backstage a blacked out limo slowly pulled up in the backstage car park.

Was this the arrival of the man that had been rumoured to be making his way to the sVo all week?

There was a huge mixed reaction from the crowd as the camera catches one foot stepping out of the limo with an expensive Italian shoe on, followed by the second. The camera slowly zoomed up the smart Italian suit to find none other that former Hostility wrestler Julian Fiasco admiring his surroundings as he slams the limo door shut behind him.

Fiasco, a man who has beaten Mike Polowy in singles action before being defeated narrowly in the return leg at the Hostile Violence PPV doesn’t look too impressed to be on Showdown, but none the less he slowly makes his way forwards towards the door to the arena as the limo pulls away behind him.

The hype is true and Julian Fiasco is here in the sVo, but just who has brought him in?

TAG TEAM MATCH

Rodimus & Freedom Fighter vs. JD Hart & Sean Peters

The Lights go off as strobes and smoke blanket the front of the entrance as This Moment by Disturbed plays. Then a Green Spotlight from the center of the entrance lights up shining down the ramp. Rodimus walks out in the spotlight with his features obscured in the light. Reaching the Ring he walks up the stairs and steps through the ropes and makes a circuit leaning against each side of the ropes.

The lights start flashing White and makes a Strobelight effect (flashes so fast that it looks almost like a movie). As he walks down the ramp, blue and red smoke comes from underneath it. He cheers with the crowd and all of that, giving people high fives and what have you.

“Sharp Dressed Man” by ZZ Top starts to play as strobe lights start flickering as the arena goes dark and the music starts to play. The Sex Symbols walk out from behind the curtain wearing black vests and black pants. They start dancing at the top of the ramp way and then strip away the black vests revealing the suspenders that are holding up their pants. They keep on dancing as the music plays.

“Coming to the ring from the Sunset Strip, weighing in at four hundred and sixty five pounds, JD Hart, Sean Peters, they are the Sex Symbols!!!

Then they walk down the ramp way stops and poses, holding both arms up and flexing. They then turn around and walk back up the ramp to where they took off the vests and pose some more. They start walking back down the ramp way this time they un-strap the right side of their suspenders and then un-strap the left ones. They walk up the stairs and look around at the fans that are having a mixed reaction to them. They start dancing again after they enter the ring through the ropes. Still dancing they grab their waist band of the pants and tear them away from their body revealing their wrestling attire. They begin to dance again to the music while they await the ring bell.

The bell sounds.

This tag team match starts off the show as all four men stand in the sVo ring. The referee has already called for the bell and is now waiting for each team to decide on who will start the match off. It seems that Freedom Fighter will begin the match for his team the Goondock Saints as Sean Peters is going to start this match off for his team the Sex Pistols. This leaves Rodimus and JD Hart to both step outside of the ring and to the ring apron.

Freedom Fighter and Sean Peters make there way towards one another as they come walking into the center of the ring. Both men tie up and the veteran Freedom Fighter takes the advantage with a quick knee to the mid section. He now pushes Sean Peters up against the ropes until he then grabs his hand and whips him across the ring. Peters hit’s the ropes and comes back with a surprising leaping clothesline to knock FF down.

Sean Peters now gets back to his feet and grabs the leg of Freedom Fighter as he drags him to his corner where he proceeds to tag in his partner JD Hart who wastes no time in coming in and dropping an elbow across his leg. FF seems to be in trouble now as JD Hart wraps his legs around his opponent’s leg and applies pressure too it for a leg lock submission hold. Freedom Fighter is close to the ropes though and grabs them as JD Hart let’s go of the hold.

JD Hart however stands up and picks up Freedom Fighter with him. He scoop slams him down to the canvas and then tags back in his partner Sean Peters. Sean steps in and quickly jumps down across the throat of FF with a leg drop. He now turns over and gets on top of his opponent as he hooks his leg for the very first pin fall in this contest. The referee quickly makes his way down to the ring mat as he makes the count.

No! Rodimus comes in and stops the count as he boots the back of Sean Peters head. The fans watch on, enjoying this match up as Rodimus is told to get back into his corner. With this, Sean Peters grabs the leg of Freedom Fighter and drags him back into his corner as he tags in JD Hart one more time. This time JD Hart picks him up and the Sex Pistols look to double team him as they whip him to the ropes. Freedom Fighter comes back and ducks a double clothesline though and then hit’s one of his own on both men as he knocks them down.

FF now crawls over to his corner towards his partner Rodimus who looks about ready to get into this match. Freedom Fighter is almost there but JD Hart the legal man in for his team grabs his leg. Freedom Fighter however stands up and with all his might swings his other leg around and nails JD Hart straight down to the ring mat for a enziguri kick. Freedom Fighter now rushes over and leaps at Rodimus hand as he tags him in!

And here comes Rodimus. He runs at JD Hart and knocks him down with a clothesline. He picks him up and quickly whips him to the ropes. He comes back and is back elbowed to the face. Sean Peters now runs at him as he ducks down and lifts him up and over for a back body drop. Rodimus now drop kicks JD Hart down as he gets on top of him real quick for a pin fall attempt.

1..

2..

Only a two count as his partner from the Sex Pistols known as Sean Peters interrupts the count. Freedom Fighter is right back in the ring though as he runs at Sean Peters and clotheslines him up and over the top ropes. Freedom Fighter now waits for him to get back up as he does so he leaps over the ropes at him for a cross body as both men are now down on the outside floor while the action continues inside the ring with Rodimus and JD Hart.

Rodimus and JD Hart are throwing punches left and right towards one another as Rodimus takes the momentum in his favor. He whips JD Hart into the corner real hard as he hit’s sternum first. He comes stumbling back a few feet and JD Hart is then grabbed around his waist by Rodimus who tries to flip him over for a German suplex. JD Hart reverses it though as he elbows him in the face. Rodimus let’s go now as JD Hart boots him in the mid section and plants him down with a huge swinging double arm DDT! He makes the cover as the referee makes the count.

RESULT: Sex Pistols (JD Hart & Sean Peters) win via pinfall

Friends

The cameras once again catch up to one member of the rising stable Bad Religion. He’s walking down the halls adorned in his wrestling gear, ready to face Heroes of Violence member Brock later on tonight. As Max turns a sudden corner in the empty halls of the arena he bumps into recent signee Julian Fiasco.

As the two bump into each other they both immediately step back and lock stares. Each of them trying not to blink in this test of wills. Suddenly both of them begin to smile as they step forward and shake hands! Julian steps in and slaps Max on the back like they were old friends.

“It’s good to see you here buddy!” Max says with a grin.

“Come on now you know where ever Mad Max goes, Julian Fiasco is soon to follow!” Julian says light heartedly.

The two turn and walk off camera catching up on old times leaving the fans to speculate, is it Mad Max who has brought Julian Fiasco to the sVo to join Bad Religion?

Unity

Peter Gilmour is pacing like a caged animal ready to attack in his locker room. Meanwhile, Rose is seated on a steel chair next to his open locker lfiling her finger nails with an almost bored expression on her face. Suddenly without a knock or an invitation to enter the room, the door swings open and in walks Travis Williams, Anthony Moretti and Mad Max.

Anthony Moretti walks up to Peter Gilmour extending his hand for a shake with a friendly smile on his face. “Hey champ how’s it going? How’re you feeling? Feeling like a winner?”

Peter Gilmour looks at the offered hand then up at Moretti’s face then over to Rose who simply shrugs her shoulders just as confused as Gilmour. Williams and Max meanwhile walk over to stand against the far wall not saying a word to either Rose or Peter.

“Well?” Moretti says waiting for an answer and bringing Peter’s attention back to him instead of on Max and Williams.

“I’m feeling…. GOOD…” Peter answers a bit unsure of how to respond.

“Great to hear champ…” Moretti says. “Travis, Max and myself, have decided to swing on by and inform you that you won’t be alone out there tonight. Seeing as how you’re now a member of Bad Religion, we want to make sure you represent Bad Religion to the best of your abilities…”

Peter says defiantly as Williams’ tenses up along the wall. “Who even said I WAS in BAD RELIGION? I got to win the match with Caring and NANU first right?” Peter says defiantly as Williams’ tenses up along the wall. “And frankly, I DON’T NEED YOUR HELP! I am the Xtreme Icon. I am a LEGEND in this business. I was winning matches long before Bad Religion ever came to town! So, like I said, I don’t need Your or ANYONE’S help!”

Travis Williams walks up off the wall calmly patting Moretti on the shoulder motioning for him to slide over and make room for him. Williams steps up to stand chest to chest with the behemoth Peter Gilmour. “You don’t seem to understand… You’re talking like you have a choice. But what you fail to realize is that you don’t have a choice in the matter!”

“No!” Peter responds. “YOU don’t seem to understand! I am a Hardcore Legend and I don’t need your help because I’m about to take Caring and NANU.. TO THE XTREME!

Over in the corner, Max rolls his eyes but Williams looks on with a stern look saying, “We’re a successful bunch Peter and tonight whether you like it or not, we will remain a successful bunch! Love it or hate it, but in the end you must learn to come and accept it.”

With that said Travis Williams, Anthony Moretti and Mad Max make their way out of the locker room with Max saying “See ya out in the ring champ,” as he passes by Gilmour.

“Yeah, see you out there.” says Gilmour with a devilish smirk on his face as Rose Smith puts her arms around her man. We fade out to a commercial.

Shame on the sVo

The scene fades in to Nanu Standing by the wall next to the locker room that he was assigned to. He seems to have a sour look on his face. His attitude doesn’t have the “massive ego” trait as usual. The Boos of the crowd begin to spread throughout the arena,As if a California wildfire had hit Dublin. He then takes a deep sigh to clear out his mind…..

Nanu: Over the past few days I’ve seen nothing but shame come over the sVo.I have seen back to back, Ongoing, Abusive, Non-Stop fighting. Whether its Verbal, Physical, Mental; It doesn’t even matter because its still happening.

He Then starts to lose the sour face as his usual smug face starts to kick in. His tone of voice starts changing, as the mood in the hallway turns back to normal.

Nanu: I’m gonna let the Moretti Family know something. Because after i deface those two goons, The Rest of the sVo roster is gonna be next. After last week’s episode of showdown, i tried to extend a hand to one of my “matchmates”. I will not speak of his name because the shame of this business is already bad enough on his back, And dont get too comfortable that i cared about somebody. Well what happened was another showing of shame, He smacked my hand and said something vulgar towards my display of sportsmanship. Now since i was a nice enough guy to not get arrested outside of the states for battery Charges, i walked away from the guy. Embarrassed, I felt like i was gonna be remembered as the little fag that shakes hands after a good, well, entertaining match.

The crowd starts to calm down as they start realizing what Nanu is saying on the screen. He then looks at the ground in disappointment. His mood starts to change once more, as the feelings are pouring out of this superstar. The tension in the hallway starts to build up as high as the Empire State Building, But as low as the Transformer under it.

Nanu: So i got in touch with my wild, non caring, egotistical side. I started phoning up friends, and losing some of them. Mostly the friends i cared most about. I managed to wipe out half of my contact list in One day. My Ex-Girlfriend, who left me for My best friend in high school. One of my drinking buddies, who i let live in my house for a month and a half. My best friend who i helped in 12th grade ,gather up some funds for college. The list could go on, But you all see where im coming from. That even the Sleaziest of the Heels cares about somebody. I just want to keep that in mind as the shame of this business keeps building up like the Tower of Babel.

He then takes his new phone out, as he looks at it devilishly. A smirk comes across his face as a heavy chuckle comes after.

Nanu: Don’t Expect me to give it my all tonight. Don’t expect me to entertain you fans out there. Don’t expect me to be the the only person on the mat tonight. Just expect the First Display of the Deficit Disposition of the sVo.

He then puts his phone in his bag, as he walks down the hallway to the Curtain. The Screen then fades to the stage….

TRIPLE THREAT MATCH

Drew Carrig vs. Peter Gilmour vs. Nanu

As the first guitar riffs of “In The Event that Everything Should Go Terribly Wrong” the lights dim and out from the back steps Drew Carrig. Carrig wears all black and looks up to the sky and then out into the crowd. His stare is cold, heartless, soul-less. As the drums kick into the song, Carrig slowly starts to make his walk to the ring and the crowd sways back, some in fear but also equally in disgust for the man known as “Evil Incarnate.”

“Walk with me in HELL “

The lights go out in the arena and the beginning chords of Lamb of God’s WALK WITH ME IN HELL begin to play. The lights then turn red and Max Masterson begins to make his way out to the ramp. He is dressed in a red suit and holding a Singapore cane. He looks over the crowd and begins to laugh. Soon after, Peter Gilmour comes out in a dark red cloak with no hood and the words “Xtreme” on the back. Peter meets Max and both of them throw up an “X” as fire emits in the same fashion behind them. The duo goes to the ring, ignoring the fans comments towards them. Max gets into the ring first and Peter follows behind him. Peter goes into the middle of the ring stretches out his arms and rolls his eyes in back of his head ala the Undertaker, as the lights come back on. Max takes off Peter’s cloak and Peter looks at the ramp intently, waiting on his next opponent.

Anthony Moretti, Travis Williams, and Mad Max of Bad Religion walk down the entrance ramp towards the ring with bored expressions on their faces. They circle the ring and go to stand ringside just behind Peter Gilmour. Anthony Moretti claps for Gilmour as Williams and Max stand there with stern expressions on their faces.

The Opening 808 Drums of “I Got It Made” begin to play moderately over the Public Announcement System.

The Black and White strobe Lights begin to scatter across the arena. As fans begin to boo the riff of his theme song begins as Nanu walks out of the curtain with a smug look on his face. Nanu then does his signature taunt at the beginning of the ramp.

He then gets verbally abused by a chubby, short, light skinned man behind the barricade. Nanu then slides into the ring as the spotlight starts to shine on his back. The crowd then starts to throw trash into the middle of the ring. Nanu then taunts in the middle of the ring.

The bell sounds signaling the start of the match. Nanu, Gilmour and Carrig begin to slowly circle around the ring as each one turns their attention from one opponent to the other, each waiting for the other to make the first move. Finally Gilmour rushes forward attempting to clothesline Nanu but Nanu ducks under the attempt but when he goes to stand up again he gets hit with a vicious shinning wizard shin kick to Nanu’s face dropping him to the mats.

As Carrig gets to his feet Gilmour charges in and driving through Carrig with a vicious looking spear! Gilmour now climbs to his feet spreading his arms out screaming out in primal rage! He grabs Carrig and drags him up to his feet clubbing him over the head with mighty forearms. Gilmour then proceeds to execute a stalling suplex but as he’s got Carrig up above his head Nanu charges in and begins a combo of vicious kicks on Gilmour beginning with a kick to the shins, then the midsection, followed by a kick to the ear of Gilmour causing Gilmour to drop Carrig who lands on his feet behind Gilmour. As soon as Carrig lands he rushes forward wrapping his arms around Peter’s waist and then he German suplexes him to the mats hard!

Nanu doesn’t wait as he rushes forward kicking Carrig in the ear before Carrig can climb to his feet! As Carrig gets to his feet Nanu jumps up executing a beautiful hurricanrana that has the crowd clapping in awe. Carrig proceeds to roll out of the ring to catch his breath leaving Nanu and Gilmour in the ring. Nanu and Gilmour climb to their feet at the same time and both charge in to strike first. Nanu throws the similar kick combo beginning with the shin, followed by the midsection but as he goes for a high kick Gilmour catches his leg and executes a nasty looking capture suplex, suplexing Nanu over his shoulder with sheer power!

Outside the ring Carrig is on his knees catching his breath but when he looks over his shoulders he spots Travis Williams and Mad Max approaching with menace on their faces. Carrig is quick to roll back into the ring before Max and Williams can do anything but as he climbs to his feet his attention is fully on the two men on the outside. What he doesn’t see is Peter Gilmour approaching from behind.

Gilmour stalks forward wrapping Carrig up into a full nelson and again with a show of pure strength he lifts Carrig up and sends him over the top rope to land on his shoulders and neck delivering a huge full nelson slam to the outside!!! Carrig is down, sandwiched in half with his feet by his ears, Nanu is slowly rising to his feet and Gilmour is once again in the center of the ring with his arms outstretched screaming out in victory.

Nanu rushes forward connecting with a running dropkick sending Gilmour stumbling into the far corner. Nanu follows him into the corner and nails him with a running forearm smash! Nanu then struggles to lift Gilmour up to a seated position on the top turnbuckle but once he’s got him up there he smashes his forearm into his face for good measure. Nanu climbs up to the top turnbuckle and proceeds to hit a top rope hurricanrana that once again has the crowd clapping in awe.

Nanu immediately crawls forward to pin Gilmour but only manages to score a two as Gilmour manages to get his shoulder off the mat at the last second. Meanwhile on the outside Carrig rolls to his knees and without thinking he rolls back into the ring still trying to clear his thoughts. As Carrig gets to his feet Nanu is standing over Gilmour laying into the big man with boot after boot. Carrig runs forward catching Nanu from behind with a running neckbreaker that leaves both men sprawled on the mat! All three men are down when all of a sudden there is a commotion brewing at the entrance ramp! The fans turn their attention up to the ramp just in time to see Zero running down to ring side!

Zero jumps up onto the ringside apron just as Peter Gilmour is about to rise to his feet. Nanu and Drew Carrig are stirring but as Gilmour reaches his feet Zero jumps leaping onto the top rope, spring boarding off the top rope and executing a vicious springboard tornado DDT on Peter Gilmour! The referee steps forward trying to eject Zero from the ring but Zero climbs to his feet and pushes past the referee.

Drew and Nanu reach their feet at the same time but with Carrig directly behind the unsuspecting Nanu. Carrig rushes forward and wraps Nanu up in the Gates of Heaven! Nanu tries to fight the pain but it’s not long before Nanu is tapping out! The referee calls for the bell signaling Drew Carrig as your winner via tapout!

RESULT: Drew Carrig wins via submission

True Vision

Mad Max and Travis Williams quickly roll into the ring causing Zero to back away to the far side holding his hands up innocently as Max goes over to help Gilmour to his feet. Once Gilmour gets to his feet he shoves Max away anger evident on his face and body language. He charges forward towards Zero who tenses up and gets ready for a fight but Williams steps in the way stopping Gilmour’s charge.

Anthony Moretti enters the ring with a microphone in hand. “Peter, Peter, Peter…” he begins causing Peter to stop and look towards Moretti. “I must confess something to you and to all of you watching out there…

“Peter Gilmour was never a member of Bad Religion! In fact he was never even considered to be a member of Bad Religion!” Anthony Moretti confesses with a smile as Gilmour stands there confused. “Travis Williams and Mad Max here thought it’d be funny to see what it’d be like to have Gilmour, “The XTREME Legend” be a member of Bad Religion…”

The cameras cut over to Max who begins pumping his fist up and down on a make shift penis while Williams stands there laughing. All of a sudden Gilmour bursts into motion charging forward, grabbing Williams and delivering a Doomsday slam out of nowhere! But even before he can regain his feet Max is on him!

Max kicks Gilmour in the gut doubling him over the second he reaches his feet. Max proceeds to execute a double under hook powerbomb he likes to call the Overdose! As Max is in the process of delivering the Overdose Zero is climbing the top turnbuckle. Moretti screams out, “Finish him!!!” right before Zero flies off the top turnbuckle nailing a picture perfect shooting star elbow drop right to Gilmour’s face and neck he likes to call Tonite Reprise!

Gilmour is laid out on the mats as Travis Williams gets to his feet outraged! He stalks forward grabbing Gilmour’s left leg. He rolls Gilmour over and locks in the Tragic Escape, a single leg lion tamer submission! With Gilmour on his stomach screaming out in pain and fury Max walks over grabbing Gilmour’s arms and hoisting his shoulders and head up off the mat, back to back to Williams.

“I’m sorry Peter,” Moretti says with false sincerity, “But you just don’t have what it takes to be like one of us!”

With that said Max delivers a disturbing but devestating curb stomp driving Peter’s face into the mats! Williams releases his hold on Gilmour who remains unconscious on the mats. Travis, Max, and Moretti turn their attention to Zero who immediately holds his hands up innocently. Zero drops his hands as Travis extends his hand and the crowd bursts out in boos and begin to litter the ring with trash as Williams and Zero shake hands. Max and Zero shake hands next followed by Moretti and Zero exchanging a friendly hug and pat on the back.

“Now,” Moretti exclaims, “You are witnessing the true vision of Bad Religion!”

Moretti throws down the microphone as the four men raise their hands in victory with Gilmour’s body lying prone beneath them.

A Reality Show, Hollywood, and Bad News

Backstage Gunner Lang and Chris Bond are lounging around in their locker room. Gunner throws some papers down on the table shaking his head. He leans back scratching his ‘stache as Bond sits across from him with an exaggerated grin from ear to ear. Gunner leans forward.

Gunner Lang – “Well … this contract looks pretty iron clad Bondy.”

Even though it’s physically impossible Bond manages to grin even wider.

Chris Bond – “Pretty sweet eh?”

Gunner frowns as Bond is nodding his head up and down with excitement.

Gunner Lang – “Yeah … pretty sweet if it doesn’t conflict with our sVo contracts. We should have someone from sVo legal take a look over this.”

Bond smiles at the prospect of starring in his very own reality television show.

Chris Bond – “I know what we can call the show?”

Gunner looks at Bond blankly.

Chris Bond – “The Chris Bond Experience.”

Gunner shoves Bond almost right out of his chair.

Gunner Lang – “I’m in it too you numpty.”

At that very moment Howie Banks enters the locker room dressed in a suit and sunglasses, Jeeves is in tow carrying Howie’s bags.

Howie Banks – “What’s up fellas? Ya miss me?”

Bond rolls his eyes.

Bond – “Hey Howard … you wanna be in a reality show?”

Howie Banks – “My whole life is a reality show Bond.”

Banks rolls his eyes as he looks from Bond to Gunner.

Howie Banks – “What the hell is he talking about?”

Gunner Lang – “Well in JD’s absence … Mr. Genius here managed to get us tangled up in some reality show. JD’s only been gone for a freaking week.”

Howie smiles from ear to ear.

Howie Banks – “Sounds like we need us a new manager … I’ll volunteer for the job, I’ve seen a few contracts in my day.”

Bond raises an eyebrow.

Chris Bond – “You’re gonna manage us … and wrestle?”

Howie straightens his tie.

Howie Banks – “Of course boys… I’m Hollywood. I can do it all.”

Gunner stifles a little chuckle.

Gunner Lang – “You’re … Hollywood. Howie aren’t you Canadian?”

Howie Banks – “That’s beside the point.”

Chris Bond – “What about Gypsy?”

Gunner and Howie both turn to look at Bond.

Gunner Lang – “What about Gypsy?”

Chris Bond – “Well she is holding down the fort back home … maybe she could fill in as our manager until JD gets up and around.”

Gunner Lang – “Hmmm that could work.”

While the guys where talking over their current manager problem Johnny All-Star had entered the locker room. Johnny stood there solemnly.

Johnny All-Star – “Some bad news boys.”

They all turned around to see Johnny standing there.

Johnny All-Star – “You boys may need a bit more of a long term solution to your manager situation. Sorry … but JD is gonna be out for quiet a while. It seems that JD’s heart is not so good. His sister’s kids picked him up from the airport and brought him to the hospital back home and things aren’t looking too good … JD’s been put on a list for a heart transplant ….”

The scene fades out as Bond, Gunner, and Howie stare at Johnny.

THE CHOSEN TOURNAMENT MATCH

Nathan Paradine vs. Cody Williams vs. Blaze vs. William Vorheez

Arena goes completely black as “Ghost of Perdition” by Opeth starts to play, and once the guitar and singer kick in a small blast of pyro ignites on the stage and keeps burning as the entrance way fills up with smoke and out walks William Vorheez, red, green, and white lights flicker with the music as he slowly makes his way to the ring. He stares straight at the ring and doesnt pay attention to the crowd as they have a mixed reaction about him. He walks up the steps and then walks half way down the ring apron and steps over the top rope as the lights come up and the music slowly fades.

The intro of “Joker and the Thief” blasts from the speakers, and all lights except the multicoloured lights flashing above the ring and ramp in time with the drums. A figure emerges from the darkness and into lights, as the intro ends and the lights stay a light green color. Nathan Paradine walks down to the ring, climing up the steel stairs and wiping his feet on the ring apron before climbing in between the middle and top ropes. He walks across the ring and climbs the opposite turnbuckle, holding one arm up in the air. He flings his pair of sunglasses into the crowd and jumps down, before backing off into the corner.

The house lights slowly dim, synched to the sound of a THX surround sound test causing the jam packed audience of the Hampden Park to erupt. The sounds of “Israel’s Son” by Silverchair blares on the arena’s sound system as gold lights wander around the arena. A strobe light flickers at the top of the entranceway while the entrance begins to fog up. Cody Williams can be seen rising up from the top of the ramp by way of lift. Once the lift comes to a halt he throws his arms up into the air to an eruption of pyrotechnics, followed by fireworks going off around the perimeter of the stadium.

Hate is what I feel for you
And I want you to know that I want you dead
You’re late for the execution
If you’re not here soon
I’ll kill your friend instead

He makes his way down the entrance ramp, pounding his chest and pointing out to the crowd as they continue to drown the stadium with cheers. He slides into the ring and rushes to the nearest corner and stands on the second turnbuckle leaning over, repeatedly pounding his chest and raising his arms in the air. He hops off and heads over to the opposite corner and does the same, taking off his 220 shirt and throwing it into the crowd.

The pre-chorus of “Reptilia” begins, with the drum beats blasting as the lights dim out and orange and blue flames flicker on the screen. The guitar riff plays as the lights begin to flash orange and blue, followed by the chorus of Reptilia beginning as a huge flame pyro explodes in the entrance way and BlaZe comes running out of the back. He sprints to the ring, sliding in and leaping to his feet wildly and signalling to the fans. He climbs the turnbuckle as poses, before removing his jersey, autographing it and throwing it to the fans. He then runs to the other side, autographing his cap and throwing that to the fans before jumping down into the center of the ring and hopping up and down to prepare for the match.

Nathan Paradine rushes towards Cody Williams and takes him down with a double leg takedown. He mounts Cody and starts to unleash a barrage of furious punches to the sides of the head. Cody tries to block the impact of the strikes by covering his head, absorbing most of the impact with his arms. Blaze and Vorheez start to go at it, trading standing punches. Vorheez gets the upper hand and delivers a hard boot to the gut of Blaze. He grabs him by the wrist and whips him into the ropes. Blaze comes back and Vorheez goes for a hard lariat but Blaze sees it coming and ducks under. He bounces of the opposite ropes and Vorheez bends down for a back drop and gets a stiff kick to the top of the forehead. Blaze runs towards the ropes and rushes Vorheez but Vorheez grabs him by the back of the head and tosses him over the top rope. Blaze holds on to the ropes and plants himself on the apron. He springboards into the ring and out of nowhere Paradine dropkicks Blaze in mid air, sending him crashing to the canvas. Paradine looks down at a fallen Blaze and turns around, getting a hard calf kick to the face by Cody Williams. Cody throws his arms into the air and leans over the ropes to the delight of the crowd. He turns around and Vorheez runs towards him with the speed of a raging bull and damn near takes Cody’s head off with a hard lariat, turning Williams inside out.

Vorheez looks down at everyone, looking at the results of the opening sequence of the match. Bodies laying on the ground, clutching torsos, jaws, and faces. He takes advantage of this opportunity and covers Blaze.

KICKOUT.

Vorheez checks with the referee making sure that it wasn’t a three count. The ref reassures Vorheez that it was only two and that Blaze got his shoulder up. Vorheez picks Blaze up and takes him back to the mat with a snapmare takedown, immediately followed by a hard kick to the back. Blaze screams in pain from the effects of that vicious kick from Vorheez. Paradine comes up from behind and delivers a hard kick to the back of Blaze as well, causing him to let out another yell. Cody stares at Paradine giving him an “Oh yeah?” look at motions for him to watch this. Cody walks up behind Blaze and gives him a stiff kick of his own, causing blaze to writhe in pain, wiggling his legs to downsize the pain. Vorheez feeling he could out do Paradine and Williams delivers another stiff kick to the back of Blaze. Paradine shoves Vorheez out of the way and delivers another kick of his own. Williams pushes both Paradine and Vorheez out of the way and gives Blaze a soccer like kick. Blaze is just screaming in pain, bouncing up and down, still in a seated position. Vorheez gives Blaze a hard overhand chop to the back of Blaze, which echoes throughout the whole arena. Paradine bounces off of the ropes and hits a flipping necbreaker, immediately followed by Cody who sends Blaze rolling backwards with a drop kick. As Blaze rolls back from the impact, Vorheez grabs hold of his legs and drops him on his face with a sitout wheelbarrow slam. Williams pushes Vorheez out of the way and goes for the cover.

Th..

Vorheez stomps the back of Paradines head and goes for a cover of his own. Cody goes for a legdrop to break the pin attempt but Vorheez rolls of of Blaze and Blaze gets a leg draped right across his throat. The attack that Blaze suffered is too much to handle and he rolls out of the ring and collapses to the floor. Meanwhile inside, Paradine, Vorheez and Williams are all standing, staring at each other. Vorheez points at the two of them and then points to himself, telling them to bring it on. Cody delivers a right hand blow, followed by a knife edge chop. Paradine delivers a quick right, left combo to Vorheez. Vorheez absorbs the impact and stumbles backwards a little bit. Cody and Pardine both deliver synchronized chops, trying to take the big man down. Vorheez drops to his knees, Cody and Nathan going on opposite sides of Vorheez and go for a roundhouse kick sandwich but Vorheez topples to the mat and the two kick attempts collide.

Blaze crawls back into the ring and covers Vorheez.

Vorheez kicks out. Blaze slowly crawls to the corner and rests on the bottom turnbuckle. As soon as he regains his composure, its too late, Vorheez nearly takes his head off with a running knee smash. Williams and Paradine both get back onto a vertical base and begin to trade punches. Paradine gains the upper hand and delivers an array of punches and chops to Williams. He whips Williams into the corner but it gets reversed sending Paradine into the corner. Williams gets a running start and hits a flying forearm smash to the face of Paradine. Williams grabs Paradine by the legs and hoists him onto the top turnbuckle. Cody climbs the ropes and unleashes ten hard punches to the side of the head of Paradine. He climbs up onto the top turnbuckle and both men now are standing on the top rope. Cody puts Paradine’s arm over his neck and locks in a superplex attempt. Vorheez however has ideas of his own, he climbs to the second rope and puts his head between Cody’s legs, now hoisting him on his shoulders. With one swift motion, Vorheez leaps backwards as Cody goes for a superplex, sending all three men crashing to the floor, with Paradine sustaining the most impact.

HOLY SHIT!

HOLY SHIT!

HOLY SHIT!

Vorheez cralws over to both Paradine and Williams and drapes his arms over the two of them.

NO!

Paradine and Williams both get their shoulder up off of the mat in the nick of time. All three men lay in the middle of the ring, motionless, making an attempt at catching their breath.

Williams slowly but surely gets back up onto his feet, using the ropes for leverage. On the other end of the ring, Paradine is also making his way back onto his feet. Williams starts to lose his footing and holds onto the ropes to keep himself in an upright position. Paradine runs towards Williams and clotheslines him, taking both of them over the top rope and crashing onto the arena floor. Meanwhile in the ring, Blaze starts attacking Vorheez as he gets up, backing him into the corner. Blaze gets in a good amount of offense, stomping away at Vorheez. He picks him up by the legs and places him on the top turnbuckle. He gives him a hard forearm shot to the chest, causing Vorheez to flail vicariously atop the turnbuckle. Blaze ascends the ropes and stands on the second rope, delivering hard punches to dome of Vorheez. Vorheez blocks a punch and hits Blaze with a hard right to the gut. He scoops between Blaze’s legs and leaps off of the turnbuckle, hitting his the Wrath of Vorheez from the top turnbuckle, dropping Blaze right on top of his head! Cover!

Birds of a Feather

Talon walked through the backstage entrance, wearing sunglasses in place of the familiar facepaint before the show. Missing were the wrestling tights and trenchcoat; in their place a t-shirt and khaki shorts. Slinging his dufflebag in one arm and balancing himself with his cane in the other, Talon nodded to a few familiar faces as he walked toward his locker room for the evening.

Turning another corner, he bumped into a bearded man with long hair and a red t-shirt bearing his likeness that said ‘**** YOU, HOOLIGAN!’ His eyes widened. “Ross!” he said, “Hey man, what’s up?”

“Just getting ready,” Alex Ross said, shaking his head, “Been here all day. How about you?”

“Well,” Talon said, patting his dufflebag, “I tracked down some recordings of matches between you and Stevo, also some recordings of Equinox. Thought it might help us prepare, seeing where you had his number and how you beat him and such.”

He grinned, even though it wasn’t especially hard to track down the matches. They were on the sVo website, and all it took was copying them to disk.

“Wow, cool,” Ross said, as though he half-meant it.

“So uh, you wanna watch ‘em?” Talon asked.

“Uhhh, nah,” Ross answered after thinking for a moment, “I’ll pass. I gotta arrange some things with some people. Sorry bro.”

“Oh, I just thought you might want to…” Talon continued, “You know, seeing how tonight’s a big night,” he continued, “Winner picks the stipulations at Countdown to Violence, and all that.” He spanned his hand across an imagined horizon. “We win, you can pick anything you want. Anything you want, and they have to go with it.” “I know,” Ross said.

“You could make Stevo wrestle with his hands chained to his legs,” Talon continued, “Hell, you could even put a third person in the match. Someone who would have your back no matter what…” He grinned for a second, turning to see that Ross was smiling too. Good. That meant he was happy.

“Tell ya what,” Ross said, clapping him on the shoulder, “We play our cards right tonight, and we’ll see about getting you on that ladder to success, but not for the World Title. Stick with me, bud, and you’ll go straight to the top. I mean that. Just… not the tip-top, you know what I mean?”

He stiffened. “But yeah, no home movie watching. I’d love to, but stuff to do. You understand, right?”

Talon frowned slightly, but turned away to do it. Ross narrowed his eyes, and Talon stood back straight.

“Nah it’s cool,” he said, “S’fine. You’re under a lot of stress man. I understand completely.”

“Great,” Ross said, adopting that old sneer of his, “Hey, remind me later… I’ve got some things to teach you. Just wait till things slow down a bit.” He paused and turned back toward the direction he came.

“Have fun watching matches for the main event, man.” With that, he walked away, twirling some keys around his finger.

Talon shook his head and let out a deep breath as he let himself into his locker room and began to look for a DVD player.

Gunner Lang vs. Senshi Shredder

Gunner Na na na na na na
Gunner Na na na na na na
Gunner Na na na na na na

I was caught
In the middle of a railroad track (Gunner)
I looked ’round,
And I knew there was no turning back (Gunner)
My mind raced
And I thought what could I do? (Gunner)
And I knew
There was no help, no help from you (Gunner)
Sound of the drums
Beatin’ in my heart
The thunder of guns!
Tore me apart
You’ve been – Gunner-struck!

The familiar riff of AC/DC’s Thunderstruck fills the arena. As the pyro goes off on the entranceway Gunner Lang explodes onto the entrance ramp shooting off his own pyro from a gun while the sVo Tron shows Gunner and a band playing his entrance music. The fans are on their feet cheering and shout “Gunner” along with the song. Gunner drops the pyro gun and runs down to the ring slapping hands with the fans and giving devil horns. He slides into the ring under the bottom rope and proceeds to take off his shirt and bandanna throwing them into the crowd.

Operation Ground and Pound begins playing as the lights in the arena go off. A white fog lifts from the stage and bright white lights are flashing all around as the music builds. A vague figure within the fog begins to rise from the stage when the drum beats are cued. When the music slows everything goes black again. Once the fast drus beats finish and the breakdown starts, the whole arena bursts into light and the wrestler begins moving down the ramp, giving the fans his love. Once he reaches the ring, he jumps around in excitement, going to each turnbuckle raising both his fists in the air for the crowd. Music fades as he readys for his upcoming opponents.

The bell sounds.

Both Gunner Lang and Sensei Shredder tie up. Gunner Lang pushes Sensei Shredder back into the corner but he let’s go quickly as the referee tells him to as both men were tied up in the ring ropes. As Lang pulls away he takes a few steps back and ends up in the middle of the ring. Sensei Shredder now takes a few steps out from the corner and towards his opponent as they tie up one more time.

This time Sensei Shredder pulls a fast one on Gunner Lang as he wraps his arms around his head for a head lock. Shredder is now backed up to the ropes and whipped across the ring. As he comes back he is clotheslined down by Gunner Lang who runs at him. Lang now gets on top of his opponent looking for a pinfall attempt and the first one in this contest. The referee gets down to make the count.

2

Nothing more then a two count though as Sensei Shredder gets his shoulder up to kick out.

Gunner Lang goes back to the offensive as he picks him up and whips him into the corner. He walks in after his opponent and begins to lay down some boots at him. Sensei Shredder reverses by grabbing him and tossing him into the corner now. He then starts to side kick him and throw open hand chops at his chest as he goes all crazy like with his martial arts style. The fans watch on to see what will go down next as Sensei now does a huge round house kick that hit’s Gunner Lang right in the head and it knocks him down into the corner.

Sensei Shredder is told to back off from Gunner Lang as he does just that. Gunner tries to take deep breaths and gain back some air as one half of the new sVo tag team champions in Sensei Shredder waits. Lang finally helps himself up as Sensei grabs him and leans him against the ropes. He now whips Gunner Lang across the ring. He comes back and Shredder has his head bent down, looking for some sort of big maneuver. Gunner however stops and boots him in the chin. Shredder bounces up and Gunner now picks him up for a gorilla press slam and drops him down across the ring mat.

He gets on top of his opponent Sensei Shredder now as he hooks his leg. The referee makes the count.

2..

Sensei Shredder gets his shoulder up just before a three count could happen as the fans are really getting into this one now.

Gunner picks up Sensei and whips into the corner. He takes a few steps back and is almost half way across the ring as he runs into the corner with all of his might for a huge Boomerlang splash! Sensei Shredder is dazed as he stumbles out from the corner. Gunner Lang now runs to the ropes and comes up behind his opponent as he wraps his big muscular arm around Sensei Shredder’s head and nails him into the ring mat head first for the Gunnerstruck bulldog!

He rolls Sensei Shredder over now and hooks his leg as he makes the cover. The referee makes the count and here it is.

Fugitive

The action heads backstage where backstage worker Nick Harris is hanging out by the exit door with interviewer Tamara Boyd sharing a sneaking mid-Showdown cigarette.

Nick Harris – “Have you seen that Julian Fiasco guy has shown up tonight. He was a pretty big deal in Hostility.”

Tamara nods as she takes a drag of the cigarette.

Tamara Boyd – “Yeah I saw that he showed up earlier. I hope to catch up with him later and get an exclusive.”

Nick Harris – “Well if you do, make sure you ask him who brought him into the sVo. I heard that Mad Max might have brought him in to be a part of Bad Religion!”

Tamara Boyd – “Really? I heard that Howie Banks might have used his connections from Hostility to bring him to the sVo to form a new group!”

Nick Harris and Tamara Boyd continue to speculate, until suddenly the backstage door swings open and in storm two F.B.I officers, guns drawn.

Nick Harris – “What the hell?”

The F.B.I officers quickly flash their guns towards Nick Harris.

Officer – “Identification!”

Nick Harris quickly reaches into his pocket and removes his passport before passing it to the officer. He quickly flicks through it before handing it back to Nick Harris.

Officer – “Apologies Mr Harris. We have received a tip off that the escaped fugitive Jon Page has been spotted in attendance tonight. If you have any information at all then contact me on this number. Please do not approach this man, he is a danger.”

The officer hands Nick Harris a contact card before making their way through the arena.

Tamara Boyd – “Jon Page is here tonight?”

Nick Harris – “Now that’s something interesting, Jon Page and Julian Fiasco show up on the same night? Coincidence?”

Nick Harris and Tamara Boyd continue to speculate as the scene fades out.

Choices

The cameras spot Hardcore champion Joseph Equinox coming out of the men’s room. With the Hardcore title sitting comfortably around his waist Joseph bends to take a drink of water from the nearby water fountain. All of a sudden someone approaches the champ from behind tapping him on the shoulder, interrupting his water intake.

Joseph turns around seeing who’s tapped him his face turns into a frown. “What do you want now?”

Standing there impatiently tapping his foot, with his arms crossed over his chest is none other than Mad Max. “You know what I want.”

“Listen Maddox…” Joseph starts to say but is cut off as Max interrupts, “It’s Max!” Joseph shrugs his shoulders as if it did not matter but continues anyway, “I told you last week, I do not think you deserve the shot. I’m sorry but I just don’t see anything special when I look at you. In fact I honestly would find life more enjoyable if I did not have to look at you!”

“Last chance!” Max says in a threatening way as he steps forward placing his face a mere inch or two away from the champs. “Yes or no?”

“No.” Joseph calmly replies.

Max shakes his head as if on the verge of exploding but he backs away muttering incoherently to himself as he storms off leaving Joseph Equinox there in the hall by himself.

Zero vs. Chris Bond

My reflection…
Dirty mirror…
There’s no connection…
To myself…

The arena goes dark and “Zero” by Smashing Pumpkins plays over the arena sound system. The entrance to the ramp fills with smoke, and Zero sprints out, straight down to the ring amidst a chorus of cheers. He leaps from the ramp, diving between the bottom and middle ropes. Once in the ring he climbs up onto the turnbuckle and performs a crucifix pose, before dismounting and backing away into the corner.

“A way to be…
You’re looking down again..
Just let it be…
And I’d only do for you what you’d do for me…
And I only would do for you what you’d do for me…”

“Touche’” by Godsmack begins to play around the arena and a mixed reaction is heard from the fans as the cocky Chris Bond makes his way down the entrance ramp. Bond keeps his eyes focused on the ring as he slowly makes his way towards the arena for battle, managing to slap a few lucky fan’s hands, before climbing up into the ring. Bond looks focused as he warms up in the corner of the ring as he is announced to the crowd by the sVo ring announcer.

The bell sounds.

Zero and Chris Bond lock up in the center of the ring.

Zero pushes Chris Bond back into the corner until he is warned to let him out. Zero backs off as Chris Bond takes a few steps out himself. They tie up once again, this time Zero has a headlock on him. He takes him down to the ring mat now with it and holds it in as Chris Bond’s shoulders are down on the mat and I don’t even think he realizes it as the referee quickly gets down to the ring mat and makes the count.

1

2

Bond finally does though and gets his shoulder up before the three count could be contested.

Zero grabs Chris Bond and picks him up. He body slams him down across the ring mat. He now begins to climb the top ropes but when he gets up there he is grabbed by his opponent Chris Bond who tosses him up and over off the top ropes and back first for a gorilla press slam. Bond wastes no time in taking the opportunity to pin his opponent Zero as he hooks his leg and the ref makes the count.

1

2

Chris Bond can only get a two count fall as well as Zero kicks out of this pin fall predicament this time around.

Bond quickly wraps his arms around his chin area as he has a chin lock submission on. Zero seems to be fading somewhat as the fans are entertained by this fast pace match up. It seems Chris Bond has his opponent Zero fading away from this maneuver as the referee grabs his arm and pulls it up and begins to make a count and if he gets to three this match is over!

Here he goes…

He lifts his arm up for it.

1…

He signals for the count of 1.

2…

He does it again, this time for 2.

Thre…

No!

Zero gets his arm up!

Zero has momentum as he is still in this! Chris Bond quickly turns it into a head lock only but Zero back suplexes him. Both men are down and out and tired it seems as Chris Bond and Zero are now being counted by the referee.

1…..

2…..

3…..

They start to move around a bit.

4…..

5…..

They are both standing as they begin to throw right hands at one another.

Zero now drop toe holds him right into the middle rope. He now runs and jumps on his back as Bond’s neck hit’s the ropes and he seems to be running out of breath. Zero takes the advantage as he gets out on the ring apron. He now springboards off the ropes and at Bond who turns around and BAM! He hit’s his Reality Check super kick out of nowhere on Zero!

Zero lays out on the mat in pain, but as Chris Bond makes his way over to his downed opponent, boos ring out around the arena as Bad Religion leader Anthony Moretti leaps out of the crowd with a lead pipe! Anthony Moretti rolls into the ring under the bottom rope before smashing the lead pipe across the back of Chris Bond’s head! Bond immediately drops to the mat as the referee calls for the bell to be rung! Anthony Moretti snarls down at the body of Chris Bond as Zero slowly rises to his feet. Anthony Moretti instructs the new Bad Religion member to finish the job, and Zero slowly pulls Chris Bond up to his feet before dropping him down to the mat with a ‘Fall From Grace’!

The fans continue to boo as Anthony Moretti and Zero stand over the battered body of Chris Bond, with Bad Religion finally getting some revenge on Bond for spoiling Anthony Moretti’s planned rigging of the sVo presidential elections at Retribution!

RESULT: Chris Bond wins via DQ

Contenders

*The ring crew hits the scene to perform some cleanup and the sVo Tron lights up as the fans give a mixed reaction as we’re taken backstage to the site of interviewer extradionare, Candi Cross. The cameras then pan out and the crowd goes wild as standing to Cross’ right are the sVo Hardcore and World Heavyweight Champions, Joseph Equinox and Psyko Stevo.*

Candi: Gentlemen, you have quite a huge night ahead of you tonight. You’re both in the main event and a lot is at stake and…

*Stevo makes a “please, stop talking” motion to Candi before gently extending his free hand and taking the mic from her.*

Stevo: Thanks Strawberry, you’re always really helpful, I appreciate that!

Candi: It’s Candi, not Strawberry.

Stevo: Right, I said Candi.

*Candi smiles a giddy smile as Stevo steps in front of her, blocking her from the cameras. Candi tries to move to the side and Stevo just shrugs his shoulders before extending his index finger in the air.*

Stevo: Candi, could you let the professionals do there job for a second?

*Candi shrugs her shoulders before backing off from the duo as Stevo clears his throat, smiles, rolls his neck from side to side then directs his attention at Joseph Equniox.*

Stevo: So Joe, what’s the game plan tonight?

Joseph: Umm… win?

Stevo: You got it, that’s why you’re the number one rising star in this company man… you get it, you understand what this business is all about. It’s about winning.

*Equinox smiles as Candi Cross looks over to her side. She’s quickly pushed away though as Cody Williams enters the scene unbeknownsted to anyone.*

Stevo: Excuse me, I don’t think you’re on the guest list…

Cody: Look here Steeeeevo… I’ve defeated you.

Stevo: Okay? I’ve beat you too, so that’s about the only thing we’ve got in common. If you’ll excuse me I was about to conduct an interview here with a guy with a future, something you’ll cease to have if you don’t get out of here in… ten… nine…

*Stevo starts counting and Williams snaps, pushing Stevo back a few steps. Equinox rushes up to meet Williams, but Stevo steps in between the two.*

Stevo: It’s okay Joe, save it for the main event.

*Stevo looks at Cody and starts chuckling to himself.*

Stevo: So you got my attention, what did you want to say?

Cody: I think it’s bullshit that Alex Ross got that shot… you, I, the fans, everyone knows that I’m the one who should have recieved the number one contendership to the World Heavyweight championship.

Stevo: You should have? Really? Didn’t you JUST return a couple weeks ago?

Cody: So, Polowy returned a month ago and got his shot right away.

Stevo: Polowy had a champions clause attached to his contract, it was owed to him… management had to give it to him. You? You never been a champ, you’ll never be a champ, and you gotta earn your shot just like every other guy on this roster.

*Cody stares Stevo down, a look on contempt on his face. Suddenly and without warning, Nathan Paradine bursts into the picture, getting in Cody Williams face.*

Stevo: What the! Who invited you?

Paradine: Give me that!

*Paradine prys the mic from Psyko Stevo’s hands as Stevo doesn’t put up much of a fight. Instead, he looks on with anticipation.*

Nathan: You think YOU deserve a shot at the belt Williams!? You!? You couldn’t beat Stevo!

Cody: I sure as hell can, I already have!

Nathan: Big deal, the World Heavyweight Championship wasn’t on the line. You couldn’t beat him with that belt on the line, and you want to know how I know?

Cody: How?

Nathan: There’s only one man on this roster who can take that belt away from the Pysko One, and that’s Nathan Paradine!

Cody: Don’t make me laugh…

*Stevo chuckles a bit as Paradine spins around. Stevo then stops laughing and puts his hand up to say, “hey, back off” and Paradine spins back around as he and Wililams lock eyes as Equinox looks on with confusion in the background.*

Nathan: Oh, I’m not gonna make you laugh Cody… I’m gonna make you my BITCH!

*The crowd pops as Paradine throws the mic to the ground and pushes Cody Williams. Williams quickly pushing Paradine back and the two start to scuffle. Stevo looks on with a smile on his face as Equinox approaches the champ at his left hand side.*

Equinox: Should we do something?

Stevo: Nah, let them beat themselves out of title contention…. no need for us to get involved.

*The cameras follow Stevo and Equinox as the two leave the scene as Williams and Paradine continue squabbling amongst themselves.

A wall of pyros scream out diagonally from the stage as Dive by Disciple cranks out of the speakers. Brock enters the stage as the pyros fade. After a quick lap, he climbs to the second rope, throwing one finger in the air before retreating to his corner and awaiting the entrance of his opponent in this match, Mad Max!

As “TnT” by AC/DC begins to play throughout the arena Mad Max walks out onto the entrance ramp pushing a shopping cart full of weapons with one hand and a bottle of Jack Daniels in the other. He rolls his cart down the entrance ramp spraying mouthfuls of Jack out over the crowd as they boo and throw trash at the filthy man. He picks Max up by his hair and kicks him in the gut… it looks like Brock is going for the Train Wreck early in the match, which would surely put Max away!

It looks like Mad Max has other ideas, however, as he rakes the eyes of Brock, delaying the finish of the match! He punches him in the face again and again, as an agitated Brock cries out! Max follows up by shifting his weight into Brock, forcing him onto his back! Max is sitting on Brock’s chest, and the Hero of Violence’s shoulders are pinned square on the mat! The referee slides to the mat as the fans boo this display of cheating from Mad Max!

Max hides it behinds his back, grinning evilly, as the crowd expresses its displeasure at this turn of events! Mad Max stalks Brock as he shakes the cobwebs out of his head and tries to get to his feet.

As Brock rises to his feet, Max takes his swing, only for the attack to be ducked! Brock got down just in time to avoid the vicious attack with the bottle of Jack Daniels! Brock kicks Max in the gut and goes for it again… the Train Wreck! Mad Max squirms and seemingly forgets the glass bottle in his hand, as a smile crosses Brock’s face!

The crowd cheers as Brock twists Max around for the Train Wreck, but Mad Max seems to come to, swinging back with the bottle and hitting Brock right across the head with the bottle of Jack Daniels! Brock crashes to the mat with a sickening thud and Mad Max falls on top of him as the crowd boos at the continued cheating of Mad Max!

Static…then dates slowly begin to appear…

2000…the debut…black and white images appear as you see a wrestler by the name of Inferno wrestling infront of you. A young and very stubborn wrestler…a young Steele.

2003…a few years under his belt, the imagaes are of Gabriel. A name Steele has taken for his own. More matches are show, some early CWF matches…static back out….

2005…you see Steven Steele, no longer under the name of Gabriel. This year, Steele brought forth his past and started using his real name…no one knows why he went under Gabriel for so long…

2007…Steven Steele enters retirement…static…

2008…Steven Steele Returns….

All the images are being rushed and meshed together. Quicker and quicker until it fades and all that can been seen is black. Then in white words….

…Save Me…

Then nothing…

The Final Four

Equinox: Well here it is folks, it’s time for me to annouce the final four in “The Tournament of The Chosen!”

Faint pops can be heard coming from the crowd.

So now the eight have been “chosen” and the games can begin. And for the final in two weeks? Apart from myself being the guest referee, I have another suprise up my sleeve.

A small but yet cocky smile appears in his face.

Equinox: So good luck to you all and I’ll see the winner at Countdown to Violence!

Equinox smiles and walks away down the halls as the scene fades.

SINGLE MATCH

Hooligan vs. Travis Williams

Everything goes dark when the sound of Rammstein’s ‘Bück Dich’ hits the sound system. The screen then begins to play old highlights of GLCW matches of Hooligan. Red lights and red pyrotechnics then fill the entrance as he emerges out and makes his way down the walkway slowly as fans reach out to try to touch. He then takes a running start and dives onto the ring under the bottom rope and then gets to his feet. Hooligan goes to the center of the ring and raises his arm in a fist as he spins in a circle slowly looking out to the audience. He then retreats to his corner and awaits his opponent, Travis Williams…

The lights in the arena go dim, as ‘Bad Religion’ by Godsmack blares out across the arena. Travis Williams and Anthony Morretti walk out onto the stage, both dressed in suits, as Travis has a microphone in hand…

Travis Williams – “Hooligan, I made it clear across sVo website days ago. I am using my contract agreement to the fullest. In this contract, it states I have the right to refuse to compete against anyone in this hell hole. So, there is no match. I have no clue why you did not understand, the memo we sent out. Now, I have informed you freak, it’s time to inform Paige of the basis behind the contract which a Morretti signed and sealed a few months back.”

Hooligan stands in the ring ready for a fight as he stares up the ramp at his opponent

Travis Williams – “I, Travis Williams, have the right to deny any bookings set for me. I have a Morretti right here, who will vouch for his father. This contract has been legal for awhile, and I refuse to wrestle against worthless talent like the Freak League you’ve hired. Since you’ve been in charge, this place has gone to hell and you are to blame for it. You want to punish me, and throw me in the ring with guys who I will hurt with ease? Go ahead, but week after week, I will do the same thing. I WILL NOT WORK! I still get a paycheck, and you still are the locker room slut. Got me?”

Williams holds his contract up into the air.

Travis Williams – “As for this contract, it states, as long as someone agrees to face me, I get what I want. And what I want is Gunner Lang at Countdown to Violence, and there is not a damn thing you can do to prevent that. You can call your lawyers, you can bitch and moan to that black jacked up security guard you bend over for daily, but I have you beat. You may have the role as President Bitch, but I have role of MORRETTI GOLDEN BOY. Yeah, I admitted it Gunner … In fact, from now on I will be known as The Morretti Golden Boy Travis Williams. Come Cd2V, you’ll see the Travis that he has been begging me not to unleash. A real asshole, and by the way fucktards in the back, this is legit. If you do not like it, why do you keep following it?

Travis tosses the microphone down. As Williams and Morretti turn to head back stage standing at the top of the ramp is none other than Gunner Lang.

Gunner Lang – “Tsk … tsk … tsk … Willy man … not cool. All these fans here in Dublin …”

Gunner motions to the fans in attendance as they pop like crazy.

Gunner Lang – “All these fans have paid good money to see you get your ass kicked here tonight. Now what I have to say to you is … why wait till Countdown to Violence? These fans laid down their hard earned money, how about we give them what they paid for.”

Williams and Moretti mutter inaudible curses as their faces contort in anger. Williams and Lang begin to walk towards one another.

Gunner Lang – “I don’t know what your beef with me is brother … but you couldn’t leave it in the ring where it belongs could you … you had to go and make it personal. So let’s do this …”

Gunner points down at the ground.

Gunner Lang – “… Right here … Right now.”

By this time Lang and Williams have met each other. The fans are on their feet going crazy as we might get a preview of Countdown to Violence here tonight.

Without another word spoken Williams and Lang are on each other, trading left and rights. Neither gets a clear advantage … that is until Anthony Moretti decides to get involved. Moretti forces a fan out of a steel chair and folds up the chair nails Lang in the back of the head with a sickening thud. Moretti and Williams grin as they prepare to lay into Gunner with their boots. Security comes rushing out of the back flooding over the three men on the ramp. Finally able to subdue Moretti and Williams, and they have Gunner to his feet. Lang and Williams strain against security to get at each other, finally breaking free they are at it again trading lefts and rights as security does their best to restrain them again as Showdown heads to a commercial break.

RESULT: Hooligan via default

NAME THE STIPULATIONS MATCH

Alex Ross & Talon vs. Psyko Stevo & Joseph Equinox

“Breaking The Law” by Judas Priest blasts through the PA system. The lights dim and at the entranceway a spotlight shines gold through fog. Alex Ross, in a gold suit with white pinstripes, emerges from the curtain and raises his right arm into the air. He makes his way down the isle and climbs the ring stairs. Once through the ropes, Ross steps up to the top rope and taunts the crowd. He hops down and slips his jacket off, tossing it ringside.

At the first gong sound of “For Whom the Bell Tolls”, the arena goes black. When the music starts playing after the second gong sounds, the entrance ramp explodes with green light. Talon walks out stiffly, swivels his neck, then pounds his chest twice and raises his fists into the air, accompanied by green pyro. As he walks down the ramp, he points his index and middle finger on his right hand across the arena, from his left to his right. When he reaches the ring he climbs to the top rope and spreads his arms, with the robe making it resemble wings unfolding. He then hops down from the turnbuckle and becomes all-business, tossing his robe to the outside.

“Sensation washes over me
I can’t describe it
Pain I felt so long ago
I don’t remember
Tear a hole so I can see
My devastation
Feelings from so long ago
I don’t remember”

“Remember” by Disturbed hits the sound system and the anticipation in the arena grows as a flash of pyros welcomes the arrival of ‘the best around’ Psyko Stevo in the sVo entrance ramp! Stevo raises his hands in the air to taunt the fans before slowly making his way down the steel ramp towards the ring. Halfway down the ramp Stevo stops and poses once again for the fans, with another burst of golden pyros firing up into the air behind him as he does. ‘The Ironman’ then slides into the ring and bounces on the second rope to once again signal to the crowd, before retreating to the corner of the ring for some last minute warm ups before the match gets underway.

“Open Your Eyes” By Guano Apes begins to play. Smoke begins to fill the chaos the lights dim to near darkness. A beam of bright white light shines from the stage. As the light begins to dim, Joseph Equinox can be seen standing at the top of the stage with smoke floating all around him. Equinox moves to the top of the ramp and stops before he flails his arms out to the side of him and a pyro lightning bolt fies down and strikes him. The spotlights loom over where Equinox was standing but he is no longer there. All of a sudden 4 more lighting bolts crash down on each corner of the ring and the arena lights change to a dark blue. And there standing in the ring is Equinox with smoke now floating around the ring. Joseph Equinox then looks up the ramp and takes off his shades as he awaits his opponent.

The bell sounds.

The main event tag team match between Alex Ross and Talon versus Psyko Stevo and Joseph Equinox is on it’s way. The winning team gets to name the stipulations for the big World Championship match between Alex Ross and Psyko Stevo at Countdown to Violence. Can the challenger Ross get the upper hand or will Stevo take the advantage?

It looks to be the two youngsters in Talon and Joseph Equinox starting the match up. They quickly make their way towards the middle of the ring at one another when the Hardcore Champion Joey Q wraps his arms around the head of Talon for a headlock. It’s not long however until Talon backs up against the ropes and pushes Equinox across the ring.

Talon comes running back and is shocked to see a flying Joseph Equinox in the air as he lands on top of him for a cross body.

A quick cover goes down as the referee makes the count.

Nothing more then a two count though as Talon gets his shoulder up off the mat before a three count.

Joseph Equinox now grabs the head of Talon and lifts him up to a standing base. He then proceeds to jump in the air and connect to Talon’s head with a drop kick. Talon goes down as Joseph Equinox walks over and tags in his tag team partner Psyko Stevo who is currently holding the sVo World Heavyweight Championship that he won not too long ago.

Stevo comes in and grabs the arm of Talon. He twists it and pulls on it as the referee checks Talon and asks if he wants to give up. Talon says no and quickly uses his wrestling tactics to reverse the hold and have the World Champion down on the ring mat with an arm bar submission maneuver. The referee now asks Stevo if he wants to quit who quickly states no.

Talon now walks over to his corner and tags in his partner Alex Ross who is the number one contender to the sVo World Championship on July 29th in Toronto, Canada for Countdown to Violence.

Ross seems to pull the hair of Stevo a bit who complains about it to the referee. Alex has him up in the corner as the referee warns him to break it up. Ross doesn’t seem to listen as the referee begins to make a count.

Before the referee could reach a five count, Alex Ross backed out of the corner finally.

However.

After a couple of steps back he takes a few in and goes to throw a right hand punch to Stevo who ducks it and now has his opponent at Countdown to Violence in the corner. He lays the boots to his mid section and then brings him out from the corner and whips him up the ropes instead. Ross comes back and stops as he notices Stevo bent over. He boots him in the jaw and now runs at him and nails him down with the clothesline.

Both men seem to be down as the referee starts to make a in ring down count.

The fans try to get behind the good guy Psyko Stevo.

Both men begin to move around and build momentum.

Alex Ross and Psyko Stevo make their way into their corners. They both tag in their partners and here they come!

Talon and Joseph Equinox both end up back in the ring as they throw right hands back and forth until it’s Joseph Equinox who takes the momentum his way. He clotheslines down Alex Ross who goes to the outside floor. Psyko Stevo seems to be following him out there as the action continues inside the ring with both Talon and Joseph Equinox.

Joseph Equinox looks to hit the Digital Code neck breaker but Talon pushes him off and into the ropes. Equinox comes back and now looks for the E.M.T. super kick and hit’s that instead! Joey Q gets on top of his opponent and hooks the leg. The referee makes the count!

Wrong Choice

After having just announced next week’s Hardcore Tournament matches the champion, Joseph Equinox, walks along the deserted hallways of the arena. Oblivious to everything around him Joseph is caught by surprise as Mad Max runs him down with his shopping cart full of weapons! With Joseph lying on the ground holding the back of his ankle Max quickly reaches over and lifts the devastation filled cart high above his head!

“You want to see worthy?” Max screams as he lifts the cart above his head and launches it right on top of the champs head!

Joseph is down with the shopping cart remaining on top of him, blood begins to trickle down his face from a nasty gash on the top of his head! Max stands over Joseph with a sinister smirk on his face as he says, “It didn’t have to come to this… But either you put me in that tournament next week or Louise and Thomas will be lost to you forever!”

With that threat left Max simply walks away leaving Joseph sprawled out on the floor, bloody, battered and out cold with a cart on top of him! The cameras fade as Scott Love arrives on the scene with a confused look on his face.

The End Game

Boos ring out around the arena as Bad Religion slowly make their way down to the ring whilst taunting the fans. Led by Anthony Moretti, the group consisting of Travis Williams, Mad Max and now new member Zero look to be in confident mood as they climb up into the ring and Anthony Moretti takes the mic.

Anthony Moretti – “Well we are coming to the end of the night so what better way to come out here and reflect on the success of Bad Religion. The group that is RUNNING the sVo right now.”

Max, Zero and Williams smirk as Anthony Moretti continues on the mic despite the boos.

Anthony Moretti – “If putting Peter Gilmour in his place wasn’t success enough, we just went and added the next big thing in the sVo to our ranks. Zero!”

Anthony Moretti shakes hands with the newest Bad Religion member who was inducted into the group earlier as he interfered and cost Peter Gilmour his three-way match.

Anthony Moretti – “All in all a good night, and if that wasn’t enough we have Mad Max working on bringing you another world exclusive Bad Religion member next week on Showdown!”

There are yet more boos from the crowd, is Mad Max going to reveal himself as the person who brought Julian Fiasco to the sVo next week as a new Bad Religion member?

Anthony Moretti – “To cap it all off we need just one thing.., Paige get yourself out here and book the match we all want to see for Countdown to Violence!!”

The fans boo once again for the demands on Anthony Moretti as Travis Williams steps forward and nods his head. With Williams announcing that he will not wrestle another match until a PPV showdown with Gunner Lang is confirmed, will Paige book the match?

The fans cheer as ‘Tainted Love’ blasts over the sound system and the sexy Paige quickly makes her way to the top of the entrance ramp with a mic in her hands. The Bad Religion group glare up at the sVo President as she looks down on them with a smile.

Paige – “I have been in the wrestling business for a long time and I have learnt many things. The most important lesson I ever learnt was from my father, a great wrestler in his day. He told me that wrestling matches were just like life, they were won and lost by using your brain in situations.”

Anthony Moretti – “Use your brain and throw Gunner Lang into the match against Travis Williams then….”

Paige – “And why would I be held to ransom by you guys?”

Anthony Moretti signals for the rest of Bad Religion to make their way out of the ring as he quickly follows them.

Anthony Moretti – “Well for one reason, you are TOTALLY out numbered!”

The crowd boo loudly, would Anthony Moretti really unleash the wolves on Paige Johnson? Mad Max, Travis Williams and Zero make their way menacingly up the rampway towards Paige, but she does not look intimidated as she draws the mic up to her lips.

Paige – “On my own I might be outnumbered Anthony, but lets take a lesson from history. My family always beats you hands down for getting those exclusive deals. For getting in their first and getting people to sign pen to paper.”

The crowd pop as a Julian Fiasco entrance video hits the V-Tron and Bad Religion stop dead in their tracks midway up the entrance ramp as the man himself steps out next to Paige!

Paige – “And when I heard that Julian Fiasco was having a few legal troubles…… I couldn’t help but step in and fix them in order to purchase myself a new hired gun!”

Fiasco stares down Bad Religion as Showdown #28 comes to a close. With Fiasco as Paige’s hired gun just how much longer will Bad Religion be able to ride rough shot over the sVo?
