The Start of the Underdog Story

[The scene opens backstage at sVo Proving Grounds 32. Katie Smith stands ready, microphone in hand, a beaming smile on her face. Beside her is a young, enthusiastic wrestler bouncing lightly on his heels, visibly pumped for the night. This is ‘the Underdog’ Ricky Johnson, poised to make his sVo debut.]

Katie Smith: Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here with a fresh face in the sVo locker room, ‘the Underdog’ Ricky Johnson, who is gearing up for his very first match tonight here at Proving Grounds 32. Ricky, the excitement must be overwhelming. How are you feeling as you prepare to step into the sVo ring for the first time?

Ricky Johnson: Absolutely, Katie! Overwhelming, exciting, nerve-wracking — you name it, I’m feeling it. Ever since I was a kid, lacing up boots in the backyard, dreaming about this moment… and now it’s finally here. I can’t tell you how much it means to be standing here, ready to show the world what I can do.

Katie Smith: That’s a lot of emotion to carry into the ring. As the new guy, how do you prepare for your debut against more seasoned competitors here in sVo?

Ricky Johnson: You know, Katie, they call me ‘the Underdog’ for a reason. I’ve always been overlooked, always been the one counted out before the match even starts. But that’s just fuel for the fire. I’ve been training harder than ever, pushing my limits, studying my opponents. I’m here to learn, grow, and most importantly, prove that the heart of an underdog beats the strongest.

Katie Smith: A fantastic mindset. Tonight, you’re not just fighting for a win but to make an impression. What should the sVo fans expect to see from Ricky Johnson?

Ricky Johnson: They should expect to see someone who’s going to leave everything in the ring every single time. High energy, non-stop action, and a whole lot of heart. I’m here to earn my stripes, fight for every cheer, and hopefully, turn a few heads while I’m at it. Win or lose, I promise you’ll see the fire of an underdog who’s just getting started.

Katie Smith: Well, it sounds like you’re ready to take on the world. Best of luck tonight, Ricky, and hopefully, this is just the beginning of a successful career here in sVo.

Ricky Johnson: Thanks, Katie! I won’t let you or the fans down. Let’s get it!

[Ricky pumps his fist enthusiastically as Katie smiles and turns to the camera.]

Katie Smith: There you have it, folks. Keep your eyes on the ring tonight — ‘the Underdog’ Ricky Johnson is ready to make his mark. Back to you!

[The camera fades out, leaving the viewers anticipating an energetic debut from Ricky Johnson.]

Match to Remember

[The camera cuts to a well-lit area backstage where JVD is seen wrapping his wrists, his focus intense. The Las Vegas and Roulette Championship belts are prominently displayed beside him. The ambiance is tense but determined. As he adjusts his gear, CJ Dreamer walks into the frame, exuding confidence and respect. JVD looks up and nods, acknowledging his rival. CJ extends his hand and JVD shakes it, a mutual respect evident between the two competitors.]

CJ Dreamer: JVD, I’ve got to hand it to you, man. You’ve been on one hell of a run with that Roulette Championship. Holding both that and the Las Vegas title? That’s impressive.

JVD: Thanks, CJ. Means a lot coming from a former champ like yourself.

CJ Dreamer: You know, I’ve been watching your matches, studying them. You’ve elevated every bout and every opponent, including me. But tonight, I’m not holding anything back. I’m coming for that Roulette title. Hope you’re ready, because I’m bringing everything I’ve got.

JVD: I wouldn’t expect anything less. You’re one of the best, CJ. It’s why this match is main event material. But just so we’re clear, I’m not about to roll over. These belts, they mean I’ve fought tooth and nail to get here, and I’m not looking to lose that momentum. Tonight, may the best man win.

CJ Dreamer: Exactly why I respect you, JVD. You’re a fighter. But so am I. And tonight, it’s all about that championship. Let’s give them a match to remember.

JVD: Count on it. We’ll tear the house down.

[They share a firm nod, the handshake lingering for a moment longer, signifying the depth of their respect and the intensity of the rivalry. CJ steps back, giving JVD a final nod before exiting the frame, leaving JVD to continue his preparations. The scene cuts with JVD looking after him, a determined glint in his eyes, ready for the challenge ahead.]

[The camera fades to black, hyping up the anticipation for the main event clash between two of sVo’s finest competitors.]

Single Match
‘The Wild West Warrior’ Jake Blackwood vs. Bronson Johnson

Backstage

[The scene opens with Amy Page, sVo COO, seated behind her desk looking over some documents. The office is polished and authoritative. Rick Reid, her imposing enforcer, stands by the window, a look of disinterest etched on his face as he stares out. The ambiance in the room is a mix of professional tension and underlying discord. Amy looks up from her papers, visibly enthusiastic.]

Amy Page: Rick, I’m really looking forward to this Dogs of War tag team match tonight against Patriot Act. It’s going to be explosive, and it’s exactly the kind of action our fans crave.

Rick Reid: (Turning from the window, shrugging) Yeah, if you say so, Amy. Honestly, I don’t see what the big deal is with Dogs of War. They’re overhyped, if you ask me. Just a couple of tough guys with no finesse.

Amy Page: (Frowning slightly) Come on, Rick. They bring a lot of energy to the ring, and our audience loves that. Besides, they’ve been pulling in the ratings, and that’s what counts.

Rick Reid: Ratings, sure. But let’s not pretend they’re the best we’ve got. I’ve been in the ring with them; they’re all show. Patriot Act might just give them a reality check tonight.

Amy Page: (Leaning back, considering) Well, a little competition never hurt anyone. Maybe you’re right, and it’ll push the Dogs of War to step up their game. Either way, it’s good for business, and it’s good for the show.

Rick Reid: (Crossing his arms) Just make sure you keep booking me against real talent, Amy. I’m not here to play games or babysit the new guys. I want real challenges.

Amy Page: (Nodding, a smirk forming) Don’t worry, Rick. I’ve got something in mind for you that I think you’ll find… stimulating. Let’s just say, the next PPV will be very interesting for you.

Rick Reid: (A slight grin appears) That’s what I like to hear. As long as it’s worth my time.

Amy Page: Trust me, it will be.

[Rick nods, seemingly satisfied, and turns to leave. Amy watches him go, a calculated look in her eyes, before turning her attention back to her papers, plotting the next moves for sVo.]

[The camera fades out, leaving hints of future conflicts and matchups brewing under Amy’s strategic management.]

Starting with a Win

[Backstage at the sVo Proving Grounds, Katie Smith stands ready, microphone in hand, next to a new, imposing figure, Jake Blackwood. His wrestling gear carries a distinctive Western motif, and he has an intense, reserved demeanor. Blackwood’s debut victory tonight still seems to resonate with him as he stands somewhat apart, embodying his loner persona.]

Katie Smith: Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here with Jake Blackwood, ‘the Wild West Warrior,’ who just secured a big win tonight in his debut match against Bronson Johnson. Jake, congratulations on your victory. How are you feeling after such a successful start here in sVo?

Jake Blackwood: (Nods, his voice deep and slightly rough) Thanks, Katie. I feel good, real good. It’s just the start, though. I came here to prove something, not just to everyone watching, but to myself. Tonight was just me laying down the first brick.

Katie Smith: Your style in the ring tonight was quite distinctive. It’s clear you bring a unique approach to your matches. Can you tell us a bit about your strategy going into the ring, especially being known as ‘the Wild West Warrior’?

Jake Blackwood: (Pauses, choosing his words carefully) My strategy is simple—stay true to my roots. I fight like I live, with grit and a no-nonsense attitude. I’m not here to make friends or join packs. I keep to myself because in the end, it’s just you alone in that ring. Bronson’s a tough guy, but I had to show that I’m tougher.

Katie Smith: Being somewhat of a loner in a business that often sees alliances and rivalries, how do you plan to navigate the challenges that come with being part of the sVo roster?

Jake Blackwood: (Smirks slightly) Well, Katie, the way I see it, being a loner means I don’t have any blind spots. I don’t have to watch my back for friends turning on me, and I don’t owe anyone anything. I’m here to fight my battles, win my matches, and ride on. Whatever comes my way, I’ll face it head-on, just like tonight.

Katie Smith: Impressive mindset. Lastly, what can the fans expect from Jake Blackwood in the future here in sVo?

Jake Blackwood: They can expect me to keep fighting, keep winning. And whether the crowd cheers or boos, I’ll be the last man standing. This Wild West Warrior rides alone, and that’s just how it’s gonna be.

Katie Smith: Thank you for your time tonight, Jake. Congratulations again on your win, and we’re all looking forward to seeing what you do next.

[Jake nods once more before turning and walking away, his lone figure slowly disappearing down the hallway, leaving Katie to wrap up the segment.]

Katie Smith: Jake Blackwood, ladies and gentlemen, a man of few words but clearly a force to be reckoned with here in sVo. Back to you.

[The camera fades as Katie sends the broadcast back to the commentators.]

sVo Roulette Championship Match
JVD (c) vs. CJ Dreamer

Ringside
Back Up

[The crowd is on its feet at the Goodfellas Casino Arena, adrenaline pumping through the arena after a heated contest. JVD stands victorious in the ring, having just defended his Roulette Championship against CJ Dreamer in a thrilling main event. Dreamer, respecting the warrior code, approaches JVD and offers his hand.]

Jermiah Sloan (Commentator): What a match we’ve just witnessed, Julian! JVD continues his incredible run, and look at that sportsmanship from CJ Dreamer!

Julian Fiasco (Commentator): Absolutely, Jermiah! These are the moments that remind you what sVo is all about—respect, competition, and honor. But wait a minute, what’s this now?

[Before the applause can settle, the arena’s mood shifts as Blood Money – Anthony Moretti, Joe Barone, Junior Gambino, and Nicky Columbo – rush down the ramp with malice in their eyes, sliding into the ring with no intentions of a fair fight. The crowd erupts into boos as they surround JVD, who is still weary from his match.]

Jermiah Sloan: Oh no, not this again! Blood Money is out here to spoil the celebration. They’re like a pack of wolves!

[Just as Blood Money prepares to attack, the crowd’s boos turn to cheers. Frankie Malone and Money Malone, armed with steel chairs, dash down the ramp to back up JVD. They slide into the ring, standing side by side with JVD, chairs in hand, ready to even the odds.]

Julian Fiasco: Here comes the cavalry! Frankie Malone and Money Malone aren’t going to let this stand. They’re here to make sure Blood Money doesn’t get their way tonight!

[A tense standoff ensues as the Malones and JVD swing their chairs, keeping Blood Money at bay. The attackers hesitate, looking amongst themselves, calculating their odds now that the numbers are even. After a tense moment, Moretti signals his group to retreat, and they slowly back out of the ring, their plans thwarted.]

Jermiah Sloan: Look at that! Frankie and Money Malone saving the day! Blood Money thought they had an easy target, but not tonight!

Julian Fiasco: This is what it’s about, Jermiah! Standing up for each other, fighting back against those who want to take shortcuts. JVD may be on his own path, but tonight, he’s got allies in the Malones.

[As Blood Money retreats up the ramp, the crowd cheers wildly. Frankie, Money, and JVD stand tall in the ring, raising their chairs in triumph. Dreamer, still in the ring, nods in approval at the display of solidarity before exiting, leaving the trio to celebrate their small victory.]

Jermiah Sloan: What a way to end the night! JVD holds on to his title, and with help from the Malones, sends Blood Money packing!

Julian Fiasco: That’s right, folks! And remember, every battle won in this ring is a testament to the fighting spirit of sVo. What a night!

[The show closes with Frankie, Money, and JVD acknowledging the crowd, their unity evident as the fans continue their cheers, the arena buzzing with the energy of defiance and camaraderie.]
