The Stuff of Nightmares Pt.1

As Vendetta 2024 opens inside the Goodfellas Casino Arena, tension mounts backstage as Katie Smith, the intrepid sVo reporter, stands alone in the dimly lit parking lot. Her eyes scan the surroundings, searching for any sign of activity, any indication of the impending main event.

Katie Smith: (speaking into the camera) Ladies and gentlemen, we’re here at Vendetta 2024, and as the time ticks by, the question on everyone’s mind remains: will Night, the reigning sVo Champion, arrive to defend his title?

The camera pans to capture the empty expanse of the parking lot, bathed in the soft glow of overhead lights. Shadows dance across the asphalt, casting an eerie ambiance over the scene.

Katie Smith: (voice tinged with anticipation) So far, there’s been no sign of Night’s arrival. The clock is ticking, and with each passing moment, the tension backstage continues to mount.

Suddenly, a shiver runs down Katie’s spine, an inexplicable feeling of being watched from the darkness beyond.

Katie Smith: (voice lowering) It seems… there’s something… or someone… lurking in the shadows. The air is thick with anticipation, and I can’t shake the feeling that we’re not alone out here.

The camera pans to capture the silhouette of an unidentified figure standing in the shadows, their presence ominous and foreboding.

Katie Smith: (voice wavering slightly) Whatever or whoever it is, one thing’s for certain: tonight’s main event hangs in the balance, and the fate of the sVo Championship rests on the edge of uncertainty.

With that, Katie turns to face the camera once more, her resolve unwavering despite the palpable tension in the air.

Katie Smith: Stay tuned, sVo fans. The night is young, and anything can happen at Vendetta 2024.

As the camera fades to black & Katie Smith rushes out of the parking lot and into the arena, the sense of anticipation lingers, casting a veil of mystery over the proceedings as the event hurtles toward its climactic conclusion.

The tension is thick as Blood Money, comprising Anthony Moretti, Joe Barone, Junior Gambino, and Nicky Columbo, marches purposefully towards Amy Page’s office. Their expressions are stern, their strides confident, as they prepare to address the pressing matter of the sVo Championship.

As they reach the door, Anthony Moretti knocks firmly, the sound echoing down the corridor. Amy Page’s voice calls out from within, granting them entry.

Amy Page: Come in.

The group enters, their presence filling the room with an aura of anticipation and expectation. Amy Page, seated behind her desk, meets their gaze with a calm but unwavering demeanor.

Anthony Moretti: Amy, we’re here for one reason and one reason only. Night hasn’t shown up, and it’s clear he won’t be defending that championship tonight. It’s time to do what’s right and hand over the sVo Championship to its rightful owners.

Joe Barone and Junior Gambino nod in agreement, their expressions determined. Nicky Columbo remains silent but nods along with his comrades.

Amy Page: Anthony, I understand your position, but Night still has until the end of tonight’s show to appear and defend his title. Until then, the championship remains in his possession.

She leans forward slightly, her tone firm yet composed.

Amy Page: Furthermore, I suggest you focus your efforts on tonight’s Tag Team Title defense against the Canadian Connection. Your priorities should lie there for the time being.

Moretti’s jaw tightens, a flicker of frustration crossing his features. He exchanges a glance with his companions, a silent acknowledgment of the situation.

Anthony Moretti: Understood, Amy. But mark my words, tonight will mark the beginning of a new era in the sVo. Blood Money will reign supreme.

With a curt nod, Blood Money turns to leave the office, their resolve unwavering as they prepare to face their challenges head-on.

The air hangs heavy with anticipation as Amy Page watches them go, her gaze unwavering, knowing that the night ahead holds the promise of both triumph and turmoil.

The Stuff of Nightmares Pt.2

The corridors backstage at the Goodfellas Casino Arena buzzed with activity, the atmosphere electric with anticipation for the main event of Vendetta 2024. Amy Page, the sVo COO, paced briskly, her phone pressed to her ear as she sought any update on Night’s whereabouts.

As Amy spoke, a prickling sensation crawled up her spine, a feeling of being watched, of unseen eyes tracing her every move. She halted, glancing over her shoulder, but the corridor stretched empty behind her.

Amy Page: (muttering, to herself) Must be the nerves.

Resuming her pace, Amy rounded a corner, her gaze sweeping the dimly lit hallway. Yet, there was no one to be found, no lingering presence to account for the sense of unease that gripped her.

Amy Page: (voice firm, into the phone) Keep me posted. We can’t delay any longer.

James Von Drake: Katie, tonight is undoubtedly one of the most pivotal moments of my career. Alissia Young is a formidable opponent, and I have the utmost respect for her abilities in the ring. But make no mistake, I didn’t become the Las Vegas and Roulette Champion by backing down from a challenge.

JVD’s gaze hardens, his eyes reflecting a steely resolve as he speaks.

James Von Drake: Alissia Young may have her sights set on dethroning me and claiming both titles, but I’ve fought too hard and come too far to let that happen without a fight. Tonight, I’m going to show them that true strength comes from loyalty, from standing by your friends through thick and thin. Nicky may have chosen the wrong path for now, but it’s not too late for him to make things right. And if he won’t listen to reason, then he’ll have to face the consequences in that ring.

Johnny’s voice carries a note of determination, a refusal to back down in the face of adversity. As he walks away, the intensity of his resolve lingers in the air, a silent promise to confront the darkness head-on and emerge victorious.

Moretti, the leader of the group, steps forward, his voice firm and unwavering despite the recent setbacks.

By Default

Amy Page: Ladies and gentlemen, the moment we’ve all been waiting for. With Night unable to compete tonight and fulfil his contact, The time has come to crown a new sVo Champion.

The crowd erupts into boos, clearly unhappy with what is going down.

Amy Page: Anthony Moretti, tonight was supposed to be you vs Night one on one for the gold, but we find ourselves in a unique situation.

Moretti’s gaze hardens, anticipation brimming as he awaits Page’s next words.

Amy Page: There is something you need to understand. The sVo Championship is not just a title; it embodies the spirit of competition, of resilience in the face of adversity.

Moretti nods, a knowing glint in his eyes as he takes in Page’s words.

Anthony Moretti: I am glad to hear you say that Amy, because it might surprise you, it might surprise all of you…. That I don’t think I should win the belt like this…..

Page and the fans in the arena are surprised, as is the rest of Blood Money who are watching on from around the ring.

Anthony Moretti: The sVo Championship is the top prize in this industry, it’s been held by legendary competitors for over a decade. It cannot be simply handed to a new Champion like some kind of prop…..

The crowd roars, the tension in the arena reaching a fever pitch at the suprise attitude from Moretti.

Amy Page: Well ok, on Showdown we can have a match and…..

Anthony Moretti: (smirking) No, no, no you mis-understand Amy. I am going to become the new sVo Champion, but I also want it in the record books that I defeated Night here tonight! Amy, I demand that you tell that referee to start a ten count before declaring me the winner and new Champion, and then I demand that YOU be the one to hold my hand in the air in victory and present me with that belt!

The fans boo loudly as Blood Money erupt into high fives and laughter at ringside. Anthony Moretti smirks at Amy Page who looks furious. Page shakes her head, before reluctantly nodding to the referee who is ringside.

As the referee raises his hand to signal the start of the count, a sudden hush falls over the arena. All eyes turn toward the entrance ramp, where a figure emerges from the shadows, moving with determination despite the heavy bandages wrapped around his body.

The Stuff of Nightmares Pt.3

As the dust settles in the ring, the once-proud Night, battered and bruised, lay defeated at the hands of Anthony Moretti, who now stands tall, the sVo Championship gleaming in his grasp. The arena erupts in a cacophony of boos, the crowd’s disapproval echoing off the rafters.

Natasha Ortiz: Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of the match, and NEW sVo Champion… Anthony Moretti!

The announcement only fuels the fury of the crowd, their jeers intensifying as Moretti basks in the spotlight, his victory tainted by the underhanded tactics that had secured it. Beside him, the members of Blood Money begin to close in around the fallen former Champion, their triumphant smirks a testament to their collective ambition to put away Night for good.

Does this prove that it was Blood Money all along that was behind the attack on Night?

As Moretti revels in his newfound glory, a sudden darkness engulfed the arena, the lights flickering and fading until the entire arena was shrouded in shadows. Murmurs ripple through the crowd, whispers of uncertainty and anticipation as they wait in breathless anticipation.

A red light begins to slowly strobe as “March of the Pigs” by Nine Inch Nails pounds through the arena over the PA system. The crowd burst into a loud chorus of cheers as a familiar logo from the past floats onto the sVo tron, quickly replaced by a name.

“N I G H T M A R E”

The curtains part and a man in red trunks with a black streak down the side and a black mask cut away at the top to reveal a freshly shaved head of hair. He half-grins/half-sneers at the jeering audience surrounding him and wastes little time in stalking down the entrance ramp before quickly sliding under the bottom rope and into the ring. Blood Money scatter from ringside in shock as the man not seen in the sVo for over ten years, the older brother of Night, Ryuu ‘Nightmare’ Miyamoto stands in the middle of the ring next to his brother, the fallen now former sVo Champion, as Vendetta 2024 heads off the air!
