sVo Uprising #004
Goodfellas Casino Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada
21st November 2021

The entrance video package for Uprising begins, accompanied by the theme song of ‘Uprising’ by Artificial Intelligence as highlights of past action from 2013 to present day are sped up, showing the likes of Bobby Dean, Roscoe Shame, Night, Jay Wildman, Cody Williams & Nathan Paradine. As the video package finally comes to an end with an extended look at the ‘Uprising’ logo, the camera cuts to an exterior shot of the Goodfellas Casino Arena, in the heart of the Las Vegas strip, before cutting to a live shot of inside the arena.

The camera pans around the sold-out crowd, most of them on their feet and screaming loudly whilst trying to get their homemade sign shown in front of the camera. The cameras finally head over to the commentary table, where Julian Fiasco and Jeremiah Sloan welcome the fans watching on TV to the broadcast and begin to break down some of the action that will take place on tonight’s show, including a main event which will see two former Tag Team Champions battle each other as Scott Washington takes on CJ Dreamer!

A Question of Fate

The cameras head backstage to the office of Jon Page, where the sVo Owner is standing by with pretty red haired interview Katie Smith, who as always has a microphone in hand. Page is sitting behind his desk, dressed in a dark suit, but on the desk sits something that the sVo fans have not seen before, a brand new Championship belt! The belt, which has red and black diamonds in the front of it in the shape of a roulette wheel, glistens under the lights in the bosses office.

Katie Smith: “Mr Page, you wanted to start the show off tonight with an announcement?”

Page sweeps his hand over the belt, showing it off to the camera.

Jon Page: “That’s right Katie, I wanted to take the chance to introduce the fans of the sVo to this new prize that will be up for grabs for the sVo roster to compete for – the brand new sVo Roulette Championship!”

Smith nods her head, looking impressed at the belt as Page picks it up and shows it off to the camera.

Jon Page: “You see this will be a belt that will make some big names for the future of the sVo, I am sure of it. Not only will the holder of this championship belt have to defend it regularly, but they will also have the stipulation of their defense decided by the spin of a roulette wheel!”

Page puts the heavy belt back down on the desk, facing the camera.

Jon Page: “Now competition is sure to be hot for this belt, which is why tonight an eight-person tournament will begin with the first half of the first round, with the finals being held at the Seasons Beatings PPV on the 26th December where the inaugural champion will be crowned! To all the competitors I wish you the best of luck and for the odds to be in your favor!”

The camera zooms in on the new Roulette Championship belt, before fading out.

Tag Team Match
The Starr Brothers vs. Patriot Act

‘Man in the Box’ by the Alice in Chains hits and there is a small cheer from the crowd as the team of Darren Starr & Simon Starr walk out onto the top of the entrance ramp! Both Starr brothers signal to both sides of the crowd before quickly making their way down the entrance ramp and diving headfirst into the ring.

‘Testify’ by Rage Against the Machine hits the sound system, and the fans in the arena boo loudly as Patriot Act walk out onto the top of the entrance ramp and throw out a salute to the crowd! Dallas Jordan, Travis Armstrong & Lance Abbot look out at the crowd with disgust, before breaking away from their salutes and marching down the entrance ramp towards the ring, making sure not to touch any of the fans that are reaching over the barrier to try and grab them. The three members of Patriot Act climb into the ring, with Jordan standing tall in the middle of the squared circle whilst Armstrong & Abbot head to opposite corners of the ring. All three members throw up another salute at the booing crowd, as the music slowly fades out.

With Dallas Jordan prowling around the ringside area, Simon Starr and Lance Abbot prepare to get the tag team match started off for their teams as the referee calls for the bell!

With Patriot Act knowing that a win will move them up the tag team rankings to #1 contenders, Abbot grabs hold of Simon Starr and lands a few stiff forearm shots before sending him into the ropes. Simon Starr bounces back into the middle of the ring, and Abbot takes him down with an impressive side head lock takedown. The crowd boo as Abbot keeps the side head lock on Simon Starr on the mat, before his opponent is able to wriggle free.

Simon Starr quickly gets to his feet and throws some right hands at Abbot, but Abbot manages to block one of the punches before firing back with a big head butt. Simon Starr staggers backwards, and Lance Abbot grabs him before taking him down to the mat with a snap suplex before making the tag out to Travis Armstrong.

Dallas Jordan continues to cheer his team mates on from the outside of the ring despite the loud boos from the crowd, as Armstrong stomps away on Simon Starr as he tries to get back to his feet. Simon Starr tries to crawl towards the out stretched arm of his partner Darren Starr, but Armstrong pulls him up to his feet before hitting another impressive snap suplex. However Armstrong doesn’t give Simon Starr any chance to rest, as he keeps his grasp locked on his opponent and brings him to his feet before dropping him with a brainbuster in the middle of the ring! The fans continue to boo as Armstrong makes the cover.

No! Darren Starr is in to break the cover!

Dallas Jordan complains loudly to the referee on the outside of the ring at the interference, as Darren Starr reluctantly heads back to his corner of the ring and holds his arm out for the tag from Simon Starr! Armstrong has other ideas however, as he pounds away on Simon Starr with some big mounted punches. Simon Starr is pulled up to his feet by Travis Armstrong who looks to put him away with a German suplex, however Simon Starr manages to block the move before going behind his opponent with a standing switch! The fans cheer as Simon Starr takes down Armstrong with a desperate side Russian leg sweep, before crawling to his corner!

There is a big pop as Armstrong tries to grab the leg of Simon Starr to stop him making the cover, only for Simon Starr to finally manage to dive across and tag out to Darren Starr! Darren Starr hops straight over the top rope and runs through Travis Armstrong with a clothesline, before running across and knocking Lance Abbot off of the ring apron with a spinning heel kick! Dallas Jordan looks incensed on the outside of the ring, but he gets some too as Darren Starr hits the ropes on the opposite side of the ring before hitting a suicide dive through the ropes to wipe out Jordan!

The fans cheer loudly as Darren Starr rolls back into the ring, but as he does he is grabbed from behind by Travis Armstrong. Armstrong looks for a backbreaker, but Darren Starr blocks and then hits an arm drag on Armstrong. Armstrong quickly rises up to his feet, but Darren Starr is there with a jawbreaker followed up with an inverted neckbreaker! The fans cheer loudly as Darren Starr takes advantage of his opponents being down to head to the top rope, before leaping off as Armstrong gets to his feet and catching him with a top rope dropkick! With Armstrong down after the perfect top rope dropkick, Darren Starr makes the cover!

Th… No! Abbot is in at the very last second to break the cover!

The Starr Brothers thought that they had the match won right there, and the fans boo loudly as the referee has to restrain Abbot back into his corner of the ring. Darren Starr waits for Armstrong to get to his feet, but with the referee distracted, the boos get even louder as Dallas Jordan rolls into the ring behind Darren Starr! Jordan spins Darren Starr around and plants him with a DDT in the middle of the ring behind the back of the referee, before rolling back out of the ring!

Simon Starr complains to the referee as he turns around wondering what has happened! Armstrong tries to take advantage as he leaps down onto Darren Starr to make the cover.

Darren Starr kicks out at the last second! The fans cheer the Starr Brothers on, as Armstrong rolls across to his corner and makes the tag out to Lance Abbot. Lance Abbot leaps into the ring and gets between the Starr Brothers so they can’t make a tag, before taking Darren Starr down with a belly to belly suplex. Abbot then flips Darren Starr over and locks in the ankle lock in the middle of the ring!

Darren Starr desperately reaches out for the bottom rope to break the hold, but Dallas Jordan rushes around and pulls Simon Starr down off of the ring apron so that he can’t break the submission!

The boos ring out around the arena as Abbot twists even harder on the ankle lock, and Darren Starr is forced to tap!

The boos ring out around the arena as Lance Abbot releases the hold, but stomps Darren Starr out of the ring, as Travis Armstrong and Dallas Jordan climb into the squared circle. The Starr Brothers re-group on the outside of the ring as Patriot Act celebrate with their arms in the air, knowing that they have separated themselves from the pack in the tag team rankings to become the new number one contenders!

Winners via submission: Patriot Act

The Uprising of Opportunity

We head backstage where sVo interviewer and correspondent Katie Smith in standing in front of the Uprising backdrop.

Katie Smith: “We all know that Uprising is the place to be and where you can catch the newest crop of up and coming stars. And my guest is here, just like last week, catching a glimpse of the future… He is the sVo Champion, “The Hollywood Rockstar” Cody Williams.

The crowd erupts as the shot zooms out revealing Cody Williams, wearing a navy suit with a maroon tie and white pocket square and his signature designer sunglasses.

Katie Smith: “Cody, welcome back to Uprising.”

Cody Williams: “The pleasure is all mine.”

Katie Smith: “Last week, you defended your championship against Kyle McRae and afterwards, Johnny All Starr came out demanding a rematch. What are your thoughts on Jon Page allowing him the chance to pick a secondary stipulation for your upcoming title defense at Season’s Beatings?”

Cody chuckles.

Cody Williams: “I will address that in due time. But what I’m doing on Showdown and my title defense against All Starr isn’t important right now. That’s not why I’m here. This is Uprising, the proving ground, the show where the up and comers showcase their talent for an opportunity…”

Katie Smith: “Then I beg to ask the question, what brings you here to Uprising?”

Cody Williams: “I’m here for the same reason I was here last week. I wanted to see the future of the sVo. Since I came back I’ve been throwing around the word opportunity. And last Uprising I said that I was going to give people that normally wouldn’t get their chance to shine, the opportunity to do so. And after seeing the drive, the hunger, the passion of the wrestlers here last week…”

He removes his sunglasses and hangs them on his breast pocket.

Cody Williams: “I am here to announce that I will defend my sVo Championship against the winner of tonight’s main event at the next Uprising!”

The crowd cheers at the announcement.

Katie Smith: “What happens if the person who answers your Showdown open challenge defeats you for the championship?”

Cody smirks.

Cody Williams: “There’s no ‘if’… I will see you, the winner of tonight’s main event, and all of you…. At the next Uprising!”

“The Hollywood Rockstar” turns to the camera and winks, puts his sunglasses back on, and exits from camera view.

Katie Smith: “You heard it here first… Cody Williams will defend the sVo Championship against tonight’s main event winner on Uprising in two week’s time! Now, let’s get back to the action!”

Roulette Championship Tournament Quarter Final Match
HyperNova vs. Big Aug

Sash! – Encore Une Fois hits the sound system and the arena fills with boos as the young French star HyperNova steps out onto the top of the entrance ramp, with his manager Victoria Isabel Patience by his side. Flashlights go off up and down the entrance ramp as HyperNova marches down towards the ring as if he is on a fashion runway. Victoria Isabel Patience slowly walks behind him as HyperNova stops just short of the ring, and poses for the nearest camera. The boos continue as HyperNova slowly climbs into the ring, before using the nearest turnbuckle as a hammock and relaxing with his feet up on the ropes.

“Starts Right Here” by Foreign Air and Kenny Mason plays and out comes the towering form of the man called Big Aug! “Big Aug” August Lazar puts a hand on his forehead and scans the crowd before heading towards the ring slowly. The big man then raises a hand in the air and raises his arm to the cheering crowd. He steps onto the ring apron and eggs the crowd on for a louder response then steps over the ropes to enter the squared circle.

With a chance to progress in the tournament and get a chance to become the first ever sVo Roulette Championship, both HyperNova and Big Aug look hyped up for the match as the referee calls for the bell to be rung to get the contest officially started!

The Frenchman HyperNova arrogantly walks back into the middle of the ring with a big smile on his face from the opening exchange, as VIP claps her client on from the outside of the ring. However the smile of HyperNova is soon wiped off of his face, as he turns around and is smashed with a big boot from an on rushing Big Aug!

The fans pop for the big move from August Lazar, as he follows up by scooping HyperNova to his feet and dropping him with a body slam in the middle of the ring! VIP looks horrified on the outside of the ring as Lazar makes the cover and looks for the early win.

Big Aug takes off in the direction of the opposite ring ropes, before bouncing back and meeting HyperNova with a big running body avalanche in the middle of the ring!

Lazar looks in firm control of the match as he rises up to his feet and soaks in the cheers from the crowd! However the cheers soon turn to boos as VIP hops up onto the ring apron and begins to trash talk the big man! Lazar looks amused at the trash talk from VIP, who barely can see over the top rope compared to the 7’4” frame of the former basketball player, but as the referee tries to order VIP down off of the ring apron, HyperNova catches Big Aug with a surprise low blow from behind!

Big Aug sinks to his knees, and the referee turns around in time to see HyperNova hit a running knee strike to the face of his kneeling opponent! The boos continue to sound out around the arena as HyperNova jumps into the ring and hits a springboard moonsault onto Big Aug into the cover, as he looks to break the undefeated start of his opponents sVo career!

VIP had three fingers in the air to celebrate the three count, but it never comes as Big Aug’s shoulder shoots off of the ring mat just before the referee’s hand can count the cover! HyperNova shakes his head in disbelief at not getting the three, as he screams at the referee before looking for another springboard moonsault to put his opponent away, however this time Big Aug has the move scouted and gets his knees up!

HyperNova stumbles up to his feet holding his midsection in pain, but as he does Lazar comes running at him with a running shoulder yelling out “not today!” to hit the ‘Dikembe’! The fans pop for the big move, but Lazar isn’t done there as he signals for his finishing move!

VIP can do little but watch from the outside of the ring, as Lazar waits for HyperNova to get to his feet before landing the ‘Dunked On’! There is another big pop from the crowd for the finisher from the popular newcomer, as Lazar follows up by making the cover!

It’s all over and it is Big Aug who progresses to the next round! Lazar smiles widely as he rises up to his feet and has his arm raised in the air in victory yet again, as VIP throws a fit on the outside of the ring!

Winner via pinfall: August Lazar

Opportunity Knocked (Out)

The cameras head backstage where there is a scramble as backstage staff rush amongst a voice shouting loudly for help. The camera crew spots the scene and quickly follows the medics and referees, as they rush through the corridors to find CJ Dreamer laying on the floor in a pool of his own blood, with sVo Owner Jon Page kneeling over him and trying to put the former Tag Team Champion into the recovery position.

Jon Page: “Quick, someone get in here and check him over!”

The medics rush into position and check over the vitals of Dreamer, as Page takes a few steps back, the blood of Dreamer smeared down his suit.

Page anxiously looks around to see what could have happened, when all of a sudden, his own sister walks into the scene.

Amy Page: “What’s happened here then?”

The sVo Owner looks over at his sister, and suddenly a look of realization spreads across his face.

Jon Page: “Someone seems to have taken Dreamer out and busted him up pretty bad… strange really just after Cody Williams offers the winner of tonight’s main event the chance for a sVo Championship shot… and Dreamer was due to go up against your client in that very main event….”

Amy Page smirks and shrugs her shoulders.

Amy Page: “Wow what terrible luck! What you gonna do eh?”

The sVo Owner shakes his head in disappointment, as Amy Page puts a hand on his shoulder.

Amy Page: “Don’t worry brother, I will get an opponent sorted to make sure the show can go on… No doubt you need to head to the hospital with old CJ here?”

Jon Page looks down at CJ Dreamer, before slowly shaking his head and turning away from his smiling sister as the scene fades out.

Opportunity of a Lifetime

All of the talent suddenly sits up straight as the door open, and in walks Amy Page, sister of the sVo Owner.

Page slowly walks into the middle of the room, her high heels click clacking off of the hard floor, before standing still surveying the people in the room with one hand on her hips and one on her lips.

Amy Page: “Hmmmm….”

Page mischievously smiles as her eyes land on Steven Love, before pointing her finger at him.

Amy Page: “How would you like the opportunity of a lifetime to main event tonight’s show and maybe even earn yourself a shot at the sVo Championship?”

Love looks confused, as he slowly stands up, his face going red.

Steven Love: “Erm, sounds great. What’s the catch?”

Page smiles again as she turns away, having heard the answer she wanted.

Amy Page: “No catch… Get yourself out to the ring now!”

Page walks off, and all of the other independent wrestlers look at Love enviously as he hurries after her, not knowing yet that he has to step into the ring with the dangerous ‘O-Town Outlaw’….
