sVo Showdown #87
11th December 2012
Goodfella Casino Arena, Las Vegas Nevada

OPENING

There is a huge cheer in the Goodfellas Casino Arena as (S)aint by Marilyn Manson hits the sound system and the camera pans around the screaming fans that are packed into the arena. Gold strobe lighting flickers over the darkened arena as the frenzy builds with the fans all eager to see their favourite fighters in action. Highlights of past sVo action plays on the giant screen, before there is a run down of some of the matches that have already been announced for tonight! As the cameras head around the ringside area and scans the faces in the front row, some fans already seem annoyed with a young fan who is shouting and screaming at the camera and everyone around him.

Not Over
Backstage

Backstage we see Drunk and Disorderly walking down the hallway carrying baseball bats. They seem to be looking for someone, just then a stage hand is seen running up to them…

Stage Hand: “Whipwreck, Vorheez, Mr. Page said he’d like to see you in his office…”

Vorheez: “O really? Maybe Jon has finally come to his senses.”

Drunk and Disorderly make their way down the hall until they come up to Jon Page’s door. And before they can even knock the door flings open and a red-faced pissed of Jon Page is standing there. Jon looks at both men and points to chairs in his office.

Jon Page: “BOTH OF YOU SIT DOWN NOW!”

Drunk and Disorderly laugh as Vorheez shoulder bumps Jon and walks into his office. Vorheez and Whipwreck sit down as Vorheez places his feet on Jon’s desk, Jon walks by angerly and slaps them off, furious and stares at them.

Jon Page: “What is your relationship with Nathan Paradine?”

Vorheez: “We don’t have a relationship with Paradine, you see Jon, Paradine needed an insurance policy to make sure he left Retribution as the sVo Champion. So Paradine came to us, asked us to knock a few skulls and in return he’d pay us in booze and make sure we were takin care of when all was said and done…But you see Paradine should have known to never trust anyone you have to pay in alcohol…So after we took out Frost, we went to our dressing room drank our booze and realized why should we help Paradine win that belt? When we should be focused on winning championships for ourselves…And also that Paradine is a cheapskate, he bought us bargain basement booze so that was good enough reason to do what we did.”

Jon Page: “And just who in the hell do you think you two are? Getting involved in the Main Event at Retribution, damn near killing Frost with that chair shot, and running a muck the last few weeks attacking people.”

Vorheez leans forward and stares at Jon Page with a menacing look.

Vorheez: “I’ll tell you who we are Jon, we are the guys who have been over looked, we are the men who are not given oppertunity. You see Jon neither I or Whipwreck were invited or even considered for the Victory Cup tournament, neither I nor Whipwreck were even considered as contenders for the Las Vegas Championship. We are tired of your bullshit Jon, your favortism shown towards guys around here who don’t deserve the spots they have.”

Jon Page: “What do you mean?”

Vorheez: “Even tho I lost by DQ at Retribution, still neither Whipwreck or myself have been pinned or submitted. And as far as Iam concernd since you reopened sVo we have a clean record…but yet no oppertunites are presented to us.”

Jon Page: “That’s because you don’t deserve title oppertunites, you don’t deserve to be in the big matches, hell you don’t even deserve contracts as wrestlers here.”

Vorheez: “Then why did you bring us back Jon?”

Jon Page: “Because I needed a couple of no talent loosers like yourselves to make my main event guys and future stars look good, that’s why.”

Vorheez stands up and puts his hands on Jon’s desk and moves closer to Jon’s face.

Vorheez: “Well you listen and you listen good Jon, we aren’t here to make your buddies look good, we aren’t here to make guys who don’t deserve the top spots look good. We are here to kick ass, win titles, and make beer money. So we can do this either one of two ways, either you give us title shots we deserve, or we will pick off your roster one by one until everyone is so injured to the point that you have to close sVo again.”

Jon Page: “You do that and i’ll tear up both of your contracts so fast it’ll make your heads spin.”

Vorheez cracks an evil grin.

Vorheez: “Go ahead Jon, but before you do, read the fine print in our contract, which states we have an iron clad contract for one full year, you cannot fire us under any circumstances, and if you do decide to break that contract Whipwreck and I will sue you for everything you got, that includes Goodfellas Casino and the sVo. So either fall in line Jon and give us what we want, or the next eleven months are going to be pure hell.”

Vorheez and Whipwreck leave the office as an even more furious Jon Page kicks his computer off of his desk in a fit of rage.

Jon Page: “This isn’t over…”

Did You Get The Message?
Backstage

The cameras quickly cut to a shot backstage, where Henry Edgar Shaw sits in his locker room, reading a text from his phone. Suddenly, the phone comes to life, playing the low quality MIDI version of “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” that Henry Edgar set as his ringtone. He quickly clicks a button, and sets the the cellular device to speaker phone.

Henry Edgar: “Hey Dr. Mason, what can I do for you?”

‘Dr.’ Mason: “Angelo?”

Henry Edgar chuckles a bit, but looks a little hurt that his own doctor isn’t even interested in talking to him.

Henry Edgar: “No doc, it’s me, Henry Edgar. Do you need me to get Angelo?”

Mason hmm’s and haa’s on the other end of the line for a moment.

‘Dr.’ Mason: “No, that’s alright. Just tell me, did you guys get my text message? It’s very important.”

Henry Edgar: “Yeah, I’m actually reading it right now. I’m assuming you’re going to want Angelo to go out and say all that in the ring?”

‘Dr.’ Mason: “Yes, all of it. Make sure he knows to say all of it, exactly how it’s written. It is incredibly important that this goes smoothly. Tonight is the night that Wrecker is going to prove, once and for all, that he is the dominant man on the roster, and we need Angelo to show that he is the dominant voice. Tonight is all about sending a message. Got that?”

Henry Edgar thinks to himself for a moment, wondering if this really is the best course of action. Reluctantly, he nods in agreement.

‘Dr.’ Mason: “Henry Edgar, are you nodding into the phone again?”

Henry Edgar: “Oh, sorry… I don’t know why I always do that. Yeah, I hear you loud and clear. I’ll make sure Angelo gets the message. And we’ll all make sure sVo gets THE MESSAGE!”

‘Dr.’ Mason: “Good, good… and sorry I couldn’t be there in person tonight. I’ve got some things to take care of. But I promise I’ll be there in the Goodfellas Casino next week.”

Henry Edgar: “Alright doc, thanks. Have a good night, and we’ll be winning this match for you!”

The phone clicks, as Dr. Mason hangs up on the other end. Sitting in silence for a moment, Henry Edgar goes back to reading whatever the doctor sent them in the text.

All In Favour
Backstage

So Star Studded by Colt Cooper begins to play inside the arena. After a few seconds, coming from behind the curtains are Colt Cooper and Matt Anderson. The fans immediately boo The Company as both men smile and cockily walk down the aisle. Stepping inside the ring both men are handed microphones from a stage hand and the music stops.

Matt Anderson:”As you all know tonight is a very special night. Tonight is the night you get your first peek at what The Company can do together. Now, I know for sure that you all don’t give a two cents, but you should. See, we’re coming off a huge Retribution PPV that was headlined by The Company. Not ‘backyard’ Woodrew Burbank. So just like tonight and every night…it’s always about us.”

Colt Cooper:”And it was the night that Ruster Reno joined The Company. We wouldn’t want to forget that now would we? The only thing we all should want to forget is that Jon Page is the GM around here and my boy Matt Anderson isn’t. Oh, and that lame ass main event at Retribution. What are we producing now days in the sVo? When is someone who has looks, talent, charisma, heart, and all the jack of spades going to be looked upon? When am I going to get my chance at becoming Number 1 Contender to the World Title? You know when, never, as long as Jon Page is running the sVo. Who’s all in favor of a firing of Jon Page?”

Some boos, some cheers.

Matt Anderson:”Who’s in favor of seeing Colt Cooper as your sVo Champion?”

No cheers, just boos.

Matt Anderson:”Who’s in favor of seeing a match between Jon Page and Matt Anderson?”

Again some cheers and some boos. Matt Anderson and Colt Cooper try to get the cheers louder but to no avail.

Colt Cooper:”Oh, I got one. Who’s in favor of seeing The Company kick Drunk and Disorderly ass tonight?”

It was getting repetitive. Cheers and boos mixed all up into one.

Colt Cooper:”Well get ready because it’s happening tonight. Tripp and William will notice that I am what I speak of myself to be. I am no joke, and I’m damn sure not one to be up for making a fool of myself. I’m only going to prevail and receive. Just like anytime the odds are against me. Just like the time I was your International Champion. When I was dominantly a force in this very organization. Along with this man and others we were feared. We were the pinnacle of the sVo. I’m sick and tired of sitting back and not getting my opportunity. I’m tired of stepping into this very ring and putting on a show when nobody backstage is. This should be another The Company era and I’ll be do anything to make it just that. Tonight when The Star Studded One and Ruster Reno defeat Drunk and Disorderly…you’ll know that everything I said was serious. ”

Matt Anderson:”Company Out.”

So Star Studded by Colt Cooper begins to play again as The Company exits the ring. Mini clips of Retribution begin to play before the broadcast cuts to commercial.

Revolution Calling!
Backstage

We open to a blank hallway with loud footsteps and faint whistling getting bolder and bolder until a door at the far end of the hallway swings open to show two large security guards, an aged man with a cowboy hat strolling a triple-stacked travel suitcase behind the second guard, and a younger gentlemen chewing bubble gum with his hands tucked into his pockets. Severely optical, he looks around as they continue to walk until the guards make a stop at the second to last door.

Security Guard: Your locker room, Mr. Marx.

The guard points towards the door and then reaches for the knob to turn it. He pushes the door open and the older gentlemen walks in first, places the luggage beside the door and then pokes his head out. He motions for Marx to come in. Taking his time, Mr. Marx wanders in and immediately shows malicious expressions of irritation.

Marx: Nice one, boys. Nice. Where’s my office?

The two security guards look at eachother, as if they’re being spoken Japanese to. They both shrug their shoulders.

Security Guard: We were directed by Mr. Page to bring you here. This is your locker room.

Scratching his head, Marx walks out of the room and motions for the aged man to walk out with him. He follows immediately.

Marx: What’s going on here, J.R? I thought this was all arranged. He thinks he can put me up in a half-lit, greasy locker room with nothing but a bench, a shoddy clock that isn’t working, and a bathroom that doesn’t have a door attached to it? What is this?”

It was now apparent that this was Reichous Marx and his hired wingman J.R Moses, brand new additions to the sVo lineup. J.R, letting all of Marx’s stress attach to his brain, lets out a deep sigh and walks over to the two dopey security guards and puts both his hands on his hips.

J.R: Where is Jon Page? We need to talk. Not that it’s going to matter to you, boys, but Jon and I had a long phone conversation just recently and it was with my understanding that Marx was going to have the necessities available and prepared for him upon arrival tonight. I’m not sure where the conversation bubbled over and my English became skewed, but all of this now requires remedy immediately.

There was slight pause as the two guards tried to brainstorm a fitting response to something that they seemingly never had to deal with before.

Security Guard: But, uh, sir? Everybody gets the same treatment here. All of the talent are given locker rooms. Nobody here gets an office.

No?

Reichous Marx breaks his silence and walks up to the security guard.

Reichous Marx: Guess what? You’re going to see a lot of changes here. Just because something runs one way doesn’t mean that I’m going to even REMOTELY consider staying on a path that’s already been paved. I’m here to make my own roads, you got me?

The security guard nods his head.

Reichous Marx: This right here? (Marx points at the locker room entryway) It’s an infraction. One, I wholeheartedly assume, of many. And that’s fine. If that’s how operations are working now, then that’s how it’s been. That’s not how it’s going to continue though. Please trust me when I say that. Please. Plans have been made. Personal plans. Direct me to Jon Page. Now.

The two security guards look at each other again, slightly slumped over in defeat, and let their voices carry out through long, monotone blankets of air.

Security Guard: Right this way, sir.

Reichous claps once and starts smiling.

Reichous Marx: See that? That’s progression of the production. Now we’re getting somewhere, J.R. I had my doubts. Still do. But we’re getting somewhere.

J.R: It’s your show, bossman.

Reichous Marx: Not quite yet, but it’s going to be.

Reichous and J.R both follow the security guards down the hall as the scene fades.

Back To The Drawing Board
Backstage

The scene opens up to the backstage area where we see sVo interviewer and correspondent Tamara Boyd standing by. She is standing in front of the Showdown interviewing backdrop when “The Reflection of Perfection” Cody Williams walks into the picture, wearing his usual custom tailored suit. He has a dejected look on his face as he places his hands on his hips, staring at the ground.

Tamara Boyd: Cody, a lot of people are talking about how you came back to the sVo with a lot of momentum but have lost your steam so to speak as of late. The people want to know if you have lost your step? Or if you haven’t been focused as of late?

He nods his head slowly, still looking downwards. He lifts his head up and takes a deep breath.

Cody Williams: You know, when I came to the sVo I had one thing on my mind and one thing only… And that was to be able to call myself World Heavyweight Champion. I was so confident that I would come back to the company and steam roll the competition and dethrone Nathan Paradine as the ruler of the mountain. But maybe I got a little cocky, maybe I got too confident and Woodrew Burbank got the best of me not once, but twice. Two times Burbank has upstaged me and it bothers me, it eats me up inside to know that this relatively newcomer has come into the sVo and as quickly as he has debuted he has obtained something I have worked four years to acquire.

Tamara Boyd: The next question I need to ask is… What’s next for Cody Williams?

Cody bites his bottom lip and lets out a heavy exhale. He slowly turns his head to Tamara and shakes his head from left to right.

Cody Williams: I don’t know Tamara. I, I really don’t know. It’s back to the drawing board. I have to take a step back and really figure this thing out. But one thing is for sure… I WILL become the World Champion, by any means necessary!!!

“The Reflection of Perfection” turns around and walks away from the interviewing area as the camera shot slowly fades back to the Goodfellas Arena.

Nathan Paradine is shown sitting inside Jon Page’s office, tapping his fingers impatiently on the desk. A door slams somewhere nearby and the former sVo Champion startles, his sunglasses slipping down to the end of his nose. He scowls and pushes them back as the door swings open to admit Page, not looking too happy himself.

Nathan Paradine: “Page, you old reprobate, I-“

Jon Page: “Save it Nathan. Why are you in my office?”

Nathan Paradine: “I know we’ve had a bit of bad blood, but I’m sure we can work past it for the good of the sVo… can’t we?”

Jon Page: “The good of the sVo probably involves another shot at the sVo Championship for you, doesn’t it?”

Nathan Paradine: “Well, yeah.”

Jon Page: “Not happening.”

Nathan Paradine: “You can’t do this! If I beat this scrawny Joshua Curtis pup tonight, surely I should be in the running fr another title shot?”

Jon Page: “I’m afraid you’ve got other things to worry about tonight Nathan, especially regarding your match against Curtis.”

Nathan Paradine: “Say what?”

Jon Page: “I’ve been thinking about this whole little disagreement between us over the last week Nathan, and I’ve come to a solution. I’m going to fire you. It really is that simple, I don’t know why I don’t try it more often. You’re a pain in the ass, and it’s easier to fire you than deal with your bullshit week after week.”

Nathan Paradine: “What!?”

Jon Page: “But this is Las Vegas after all, so what would a night like tonight be without a bit of chance? If you lose against Curtis, you’re fired and banned from the sVo forever. If you win, I’ll give you that title shot.”

Nathan opens and closes his mouth several times in shock, and Page claps him on the shoulder.

Jon Page: “Better go and get ready for your match! Best of luck to you.”

Nathan closes his mouth and storms out of the office, slamming the door and leaving a smirking Page alone.

SINGLE MATCH
CJ Dreamer vs. Roscoe Shame
Officiated by referee Hector Arenda

‘Stricken’ by Disturbed hits the sound system and boos ring out around the arena as the cocky looking CJ Dreamer slowly steps out onto the top of the entrance ramp. CJ Dreamer takes one look out at the thousands of fans that are packed into the Goodfellas Casino Arena before making his way down towards the ring. CJ Dreamer ignores the fans at ringside that reach out to touch him as he sprints down the final part of the entrance ramp and dives head first into the ring. CJ Dreamer sits on one knee in the middle of the ring looking out at the crowd as his music fades out.

The fans in the arena cheer as yellow and red fireworks shoot up into the air from the entrance ramp as “Drop Tha World” by Lil Wayne hits the sound system. A few seconds later Roscoe Shame appears at the top of the ramp pretending to play the guitar, and the fans go wild for 6’6″ heavyweight from Kalamazoo, Michigan. The fans stand to their feet and cheer at the mockery he is making of himself at the top of the entrance stage before he makes his way slowly down the entrance ramp his way to the ring. As Shame walks past pyro’s shoot up alongside him from either side of the ramp until he reaches the ring. Roscoe Shame slowly climbs into the ring soaking up the fans reaction, before posing on the nearest turnbuckle.

With CJ Dreamer and Roscoe Shame in the ring and ready to go the fans cheer as the bell rings and the match officially gets under way. The former sVo Champion Roscoe Shame is the first to make the move as he rushes at CJ Dreamer and lays into the new comer with some big right hands to back him into the corner of the ring. CJ Dreamer tries to fight his way out, but Roscoe Shame grabs him by the arm and tosses him hard into the ring ropes. CJ Dreamer bounces back into the middle of the ring and is thrown to the mat with a big powerslam from Roscoe Shame.

CJ Dreamer holds his back in pain as he rises back up to his feet, but Roscoe Shame is right back on him with some stiff knees into the midsection. CJ Dreamer doubles over in pain and Shame catches him with a hard elbow to the back of his head. Roscoe Shame holds his arms in the air and gets a loud cheer from the crowd before he turns his attention back towards his opponent.

The brief interaction between Shame and the crowd seems to have been enough to have given CJ Dreamer time to recover as he nails Roscoe Shame with a low blow. The crowd boo loudly the action from CJ Dreamer as he receives a ticking off from the referee in charge of the match. CJ Dreamer ignores the referee as he hammers Roscoe Shame with some big punches to the face. CJ Dreamer turns and bounces off of the ropes as Shame sinks to his knees, and Dreamer lands a big kick to the face on his opponent.

With Roscoe Shame on the mat, CJ Dreamer begins to stomp away on his opponent with some big boots, before dropping down and locking in an arm bar submission hold. Roscoe Shame struggles to move himself closer to the ring ropes as CJ Dreamer pulls back harder on the submission move. The crowd boo loudly as the referee asks Shame if he wants to submit. However as he does Shame shakes his head and reaches out and finally makes it to the ring ropes!

The crowd give a big cheer for Shame as the referee calls for Dreamer to break the hold, however Dreamer keeps it locked on for as long as possible before finally releasing Shame. The crowd boo Dreamer as he allows Shame to rise up to his feet before slamming him back down to the mat with an arm breaker. With Shame down on the mat, Dreamer once again goes back to the arm with some big stomps to his opponent before once again trying to lock in the arm bar submission move. However before he can get the move fully locked on, Roscoe Shame is able to counter with a punch to the face of his opponent.

CJ Dreamer rolls away from Shame and as the former sVo Champion begins to get to his feet, CJ Dreamer bounces into the ring ropes. However as CJ Dreamer bounces back, Roscoe Shame counters with a big boot to the face of his opponent! CJ Dreamer hits the mat hard as there is a big cheer from the crowd for Shame. Dreamer slowly gets to his feet, but as he does Shame manages to battle through the pain of his arm and scoop slams Dreamer down to the mat. With Dreamer on the mat, Shame bounces into the ring ropes and hits a big leg drop onto Dreamer before making the cover.

One,

Two,

No!

It looked like there was going to be a three count there and then, but somehow CJ Dreamer manages to get a shoulder up off of the mat. Roscoe Shame grabs hold of CJ Dreamer and pulls him up like a rag doll and tosses him into the corner of the ring. With Dreamer prone in the corner, Roscoe Shame hammers his opponent with some big body shots. CJ Dreamer slowly staggers out of the corner of the ring, however Shame follows up with a tilt-a-whirl slam in the middle of the ring.

With the newcomer CJ Dreamer down in the ring and hurting, Shame slowly rises back up to his feet and raises an arm in the air. The crowd respond with cheers as Shame stands over his opponent and waits for him to get to his feet. CJ Dreamer slowly begins to stagger up to a standing position, but as he does Shame catches him with a kick to the midsection, before slamming him down to the mat with a ‘Shame Time’ in the middle of the ring!

With Dreamer down, Roscoe Shame wastes no time in making the cover.

One,

Two,

Three!

It’s all over and it is the former sVo Champion Roscoe Shame who picks up another big win in the first match of the night. CJ Dreamer looks in pain on the mat as Shame slowly rises up to his feet and raises his arms up in the air in victory. Shame’s music blasts out over the sound system as the celebrations continue in the ring.

Winner by pinfall – Roscoe Shame (11:26)

Hawke
Backstage

“Come onnnnn mom!!!”

A young man is seen trying to usher a worried looking mom toward the backstage entrance of the Goodfellas Arena.

“I’m coming, I’m just looking around, excited for you! Oooo, what do you think they want?”

A crowd of fans hoping to see their favorite sVo superstars begin to crowd around the back entrance.

“Mom, we have to go! We’re late!”

The son tries to pull his mother along as the crowd begins to murmur, trying to figure out who the kid is with his mom. They make it to the backstage door protected of course by arena security, of course the bounces is a guy with a clipboard.

“Name?”

The man growls making the boy cower slightly. However, he manages to stammer.

“Seb…Sebast…Sebastian Ha…Haw…Hawke.”

“Well Seb-Sebastian Haw-Hawke, it looks like you’re on the list, though the lady is not. Go ahead in. Mr. Page is waiting for you to sign your contract.”

The boy named Sebastian Hawke, sVo’s newest star makes his way inside before giving his mother one last wistful smile and wave.

Extending an Invitation
Backstage

Cameras open up backstage where Matt Anderson and Colt Cooper are walking down the locker room area with envelopes in their hand. Colt Cooper slides an envelope under the door of Frost’s locker room before looking back up.

Colt Cooper:”You think anybody will accept the offer to join The Company?”

Matt Anderson slides an envelope under CJ Dreamer’s locker room door.

Matt Anderson:”I’m not sure. Only if they know it’s right. It’s not like everyone is a dipshit like you. They all don’t have the heart of a lion.”

Colt Cooper:”What about this guy…Reichous Marx?”

Colt Cooper slides an envelope under Reichous’s Marx locker room door.

Matt Anderson:”Don’t know too much about him, but he is one of the newer guys in this new wave of sVo talent. “

Colt Cooper:”This new wave is getting over too much. Hell, Burbitch is the World Champion. I saw it coming. He is a better fighter than Cody Williams and Nathan Paradine, but he won’t last against me.”

The Company steps in front of Burbank’s locker room.

Matt Anderson:”Speaking of Burbitch.”

Colt Cooper:”Naw, he doesn’t fit the part. “

The duo continues down the hall. Colt Cooper slides an envelope under J.V.D’s door.

Matt Anderson:”J.V.D once was a product of The Company. Now he’s in competition with played out Roscoe Shame. If he accepts it’ll be very big for him.”

Colt Cooper:”If anybody accepts then hooray to them. They’re going to be a part of such a big explosion. But then again, messing with you is like messing with an untamed lion. I can’t get at the World Title all because I work with you. That’s a lot to give up.”

Matt Anderson:”Just imagine if half of the roster was working with The Company. Then what would Jon Page do?”

The Company stops, staring off into space thinking to themselves.

Colt Cooper:”Anyway, let’s go find Ruster. I have an idea.”

The Company continues down the hall and the broadcast cuts to the ring.

SINGLE MATCH
Nathan Paradine vs. Joshua Curtis
Officiated by referee Hector Arenda

“Carmina Burana” begins to play over the sound system as Nathan Paradine emerges from backstage, shrouded by smoke. Slowly he walks out onto the ramp with his arms outstretched, his head turned towards the roof, basking in the reaction from the crowd. He climbs into the ring via the steel stairs, pausing only to slide his sunglasses off his face and place them on the ring apron before stepping between the ropes. Once in the ring he poses again, kneeling down onto one knee and pointing at himself as his theme music dies out.

As “Desert Apple” plays over the PA Joshua walks out from behind the curtain and bows to the audience as he walks down the ramp and around the ring meeting with some of the fans before stopping at one fan in particular and producing a rose for them and giving the lucky lady a kiss on the cheek.

The bell rings and Curtis quickly headbutts Paradine. He follows it up with a toe kick to and overhand chops to Paradine’s chest. Curtis now snapmares Paradine to the mat. He stays on the attack and bounces off the ropes and connects with a leg drop on. He makes the cover.

Kickout

There is confusion in the ring as at ringside there seems to be a comotion as a fan is ejected from his seat by security. As the fan is dragged away kicking and screaming, Paradine and Curtis rise to their feet and stare each other down.

“Hold it, Hold it!”

There are boos as Jon Page’s voice booms out over the sound system as the sVo Owner marches out onto the top of the entrance ramp with a microphone in his hand. Paradine and Curtis stare up at the sVo owner from the ring.

Jon Page: “I’ve changed my mind. Enough of this match! Paradine, your fired!”

Boos ring out around the arena as Paradine shakes his head in the ring whilst Joshua Curtis asks the referee what is going on as the action heads to a commercial break. The match seems to have been ended prematurely and Paradine is out of a job!

Revolution Calling II
Backstage

We return to see the two security guards, Reichous Marx, and J.R all walking through another corridor. One of the security guards appears to be on the phone with the general manager himself, Jon Page, but is trying to keep his voice to a very dull roar.

Security Guard: I know what you advised me to do sir and that’s what I did. Yes sir. Yes sir. No, he simply wouldn’t accept the room. He… yes, wouldn’t accept. He was insulted. And then the guy with him? J.R, yes sir, that guy was saying how you spoke to him and made arrangements to make sure that Mr. Marx has a dressing room?

The other guard walks closely behind the one on the phone to make sure that most of his murmured voice is being blocked out by his mass. They come to an elevator and the security guard that’s not on the phone pushes the arrow that commands it to go down. Reichous walks up closely to J.R and starts whispering in his ear.

Reichous Marx: Remember what you told me, you’re a businessman. You know how to talk yourself out of a corner, blah, blah, blah. Remember that pitch you threw at me so that you could get a couple more bucks out of the deal? Yes, I’m sure you do. Make it work. I don’t have the time to deal with elementary crap from somebody who is obviously beneath me. A stop will be put to it immediately if I feel like I’m even in the slightest being undercut. Got me?

As soon as J.R nods his head, the security guard ends his phone call and turns around to face both Marx and J.R.

Security Guard: Our apologies. It seems as though Mr. Page wanted to meet with you prior to us bringing you to your room. There were a few things that he wanted to go over with you. He wants to touch all bases with you.

Reichous Marx: Sounds like a homerun.

J.R: Homerun indeed, yes.

The elevator opens up and all four men walk in. They all turn around to face the opening as the steel door slowly shuts and seals in order to begin its rise.

“Good Friends, Better Rivals”
Backstage

Nathan Paradine is shown in the locker room, looking dejected as he throws items from his locker into a sports bag and contemplates a future outside the sVo. He pulls out an old, yellow brochure showing himself and Cody Williams as the sVo Tag Team Champions and frowns, peering at it closely.

Cody Williams: “We had a pretty good run, didn’t we?”

Nathan turns around and finds himself face to face with Cody Williams, dressed in street clothes on his night off. Nathan nods and holds out the brochure to Cody.

Nathan Paradine: “Keep it. I won’t be needing it.”

Cody Williams: “This is it, then?”

Nathan Paradine: “I think so. It’s about time I left the ring and reassessed my priorities. Get my head together, you know?”

Cody nods and looks at the brochure before giving it back to Paradine.

Cody Williams: “You keep it. It’ll remind you of the good times.”

Nathan Paradine: “Good times? You and I have spent the better part of our careers trying to practically kill each other.”

Cody Williams: “Yeah… but we had a good time trying to do it, didn’t we?”

Nathan Paradine: “I suppose we did.”

Cody Williams: “Keep the brochure, man. You’ll be back in this ring one day, and I’ll be there waiting to kick your ass again.”

Nathan Paradine: “Not if I have anything to say about it, sunshine.”

Cody laughs and extends his hand.

Cody Williams: “Until next time?”

Nathan Paradine: “Until next time.”

Nathan accepts the handshake and embraces Cody in a quick hug, before looking slightly embarrassed.

Cody Williams: “Catch you around, Nathan.”

Nathan Paradine: “Yeah.”

Cody walks away, leaving Nathan to pack up the remainder of his sVo career.

Ruster Reno is seen backstage getting ready for his match when out of nowhere Drunk and Disorderly attack him. Vorheez slams Ruster into a nearby wall, and both Vorheez and Whipwreck take turns delivering vicious rights and lefts. Whipwreck grabs a beer bottle from his vest pocket and smashes it in the face of Ruster Reno sending him to the ground screaming in pain holding his eyes. Vorheez and Whipwreck grabs near by chairs and start to lay into Ruster Reno beating him into a bloody pulp. Vorheez picks up Ruster Reno and drags him over to the nearby catering table. Whipwreck and Vorheez with extreme force send Ruster Reno through the table leaving him down and out. Vorheez leans down and smiles at a bloody Ruster Reno as Whipwreck grabs a sanwhich off the broken table and starts to munch on it.

Vorheez: “Hey Reno, maybe this will teach you not to travel alone, nor mess with the real badasses of sVo. Reno you got lucky tonight, next time you will leave this arena in a black bag and a toe tag. O and Reno our match is next, if you can find your partner in time you had better warn him to not come down to that ring, because if he does…We will end the career of Colt Cooper…See you out there…”

Vorheez and Whipwreck walk away with even bigger smiles on their faces knowing they’ve made a strong point.

The cameras switch to a shot backstage, showing Henry Edgar Shaw waiting to make his way out to the ring. He looks rather apprehensive as he paces back and forth. He can hear the fans at ringside roaring and cheering, which only adds to his anxiety. Suddenly, the opening guitar rift of “Fuck You Puto (Xeneizes Version)” by Quarashi begins to play over the PA system, and Henry Edgar stops dead in his tracks. He stares straight ahead at the curtain, and slowly, he pulls a pair of sunglasses from his trunks and places them on his face.

Angelo: “Cut the music… CUT THE MUSIC!”

Angelo storms out to the stage, where he stands at the top of the ramp, microphone in hand. The music fades out as he stares out at the sea of fans who are giving him a bit of a mixed reaction.

Angelo: “Ladies and gentlemen, one week ago, you watched as Wrecker single-handedly stole the show at Retribution. You watched as THE Las Vegas Champion, the ONLY Championship Title holder in sVo up to that point, went down to that very ring and successfully defended his title.”

Slowly, Angelo begins to make his way down the ramp. He looks from side to side, smiling at the fans seated ramp-side.

Angelo: “Yet, all week, all we’ve been hearing about is Woodrew Burbank defying the odds and becoming sVo Champion… James Von Drake being Shame Timed through the announce table… CJ Dreamer being silent but deadly-“

He pauses for a moment, realizing he just inadvertently made a fart joke. “Dammit, Mason” he thinks to himself.

Angelo: “-But where are all the accolades for Wrecker? Where are the fans chanting his name? Where are the keyboard warriors blogging about his accomplishments?”

Some of the fans begin booing Angelo as he continues to recite Mason’s text message from memory. Angelo looks a little taken back, assuming that the purpose of this rant was to rally the fans behind him.

Angelo: “Wrecker has an unbeaten streak that’s every bit as impressive as Woodrew Burbank’s, and one of those wins is the aforementioned title defense. So at the end of the day, who’s more impressive?”

The fans pop and cheer for the sVo Champion, Burbank. Again, Angelo can’t believe what he’s hearing and seeing. He quickly slides into the ring and hops up to his feet.

Angelo: “Well, tonight… all doubts will be rendered moot. You might all think that all Wrecker’s success up to this point has been a fluke, but when he takes that giant, Frost, and puts him on his back for the three count, no one will ever… EVER… doubt Wrecker again. I’m here, right now, to send a message to everyone out there in the stands, and in the locker room. Reichous Marx, Sebastian Hawke, Dustin Dallas, and Go-Go Spectacular… you’ve come at a bad time. Consider your sVo contracts, hospital admission papers. Drunk and Disorderly, just crawl back up into your mother’s vagina and stay there. Colt Cooper and The Company, you’re not the ones the rest of the roster have to worry about anymore. Oh, and Ruster… you have your eye on the Las Vegas Championship Title? By all means, just try and take it, cuz I’ll tell you right now, you’ll lose that eye!”

As he continues to speak, Angelo starts sounding more and more aggressive and agitated. He pulls his t-shirt off over his head.

Angelo: “And to all you veterans of the sVo ring… Williams, Paradine, Von Drake, Shame… all of you… you’re time in the spotlight is at an end. ‘Beautiful’ Bobby Dean… you should stay retired, for your own sake. And you, Woodrew Burbank… enjoy your time as the sVo Champion, because it’s not going to last long. Everyone on the sVo roster, everyone considering joining the ranks of the sVo roster… EVERYONE… JUST EVERYONE… this is your final notice. Get out of our way! Wrecker is here to stay, he’s here to win… he’s here to be the last man standing. Nothing can withstand the force of a wrecking ball… NOTHING!”

With that, Angelo rips the sunglasses from his face and tosses them to the floor at ringside. There is no emotion in his eyes, as he pulls the elastic from his hair. Now out, Wrecker walks over to the corner and throws a few phantom punches while he awaits the arrival of possibly his toughest opponent yet, Frost.

The fans boo the huge move by Frost as he waves at Wrecker to get to his feet. Wrecker slowly is able to pull himself up using the ring ropes, and Frost lays into him with some stiff punches to the back on his opponent. Frost then spins Wrecker around and grabs him around the throat!

The fans rise to their feet as Frost lifts Wrecker up into the air looking for a chokeslam, however Wrecker manages an unexpected mid air counter as he manages to catch Frost with a big knee to the face! Frost stumbles away as Wrecker lands on his feet and then lands a stiff clothesline of his own onto Frost! The clothesline takes Frost off of his feet, however Frost quickly leaps back up to a standing position.

Wrecker throws some big right hands at Frost to try and slow down to the monster, but Frost keeps coming at Wrecker! Wrecker quickly bounces off of the ring ropes, and manages to slide under the leg of Frost as he tries a big boot in the middle of the ring. Wrecker pops back up to his feet and lands a big reverse DDT onto his opponent. With Frost down on the mat, Wrecker rises to his feet and throws his hands in the air.

Frost begins to get to his feet, but the Las Vegas Champion takes full control of the match as he ducks under an attempted right hand of his opponent before dropping him to the mat with ‘the Wreckoning’! The fans cheer for the big move as Wrecker hooks the leg of Frost and makes the cover.

One,

Two,

Three!

The referee calls for the bell to be rung and in the battle between two of the most impressive newcomers to the sVo, it is Wrecker that picks up the big win! The cameras open up to a Jon Page who stands in front of Matt Anderson’s office. He knocks a few times before straightening up his collar on his suit and waiting for an answer. Jon Page taps his feet a few times before the door swings open and Colt Cooper stands at the helms of it.

Colt Cooper:”Look boss, it’s Jon Page. No security no nothing. Want me to kick his ass?”

Matt Anderson says nothing. He motions to let Jon Page in and that’s what Colt Cooper does. Colt smirks while closing the door, proceeding to take his seat and looking in the latest sVo magazine.

Matt Anderson:”What brings you hear Jon?”

Matt Anderson pulls out a bottle of scotch from under his desk. He grabs two glasses and pours some of the scotch in them sliding one of the glasses towards Jon Page.

Jon Page:”If you guys don’t know, Drunk and Disorderly just made things a whole lot harder on you.”

Jon Page smirks.

Jon Page:”They have sent Ruster Reno to the hospital and it’s for sure that he won’t be wrestling here tonight. So it looks like you’re going to be out there on your own tonight against Drunk and Disorderly Colt.”

Colt Cooper throws the magazine to the floor standing from his chair enraged.

Colt Cooper:”You got to be fucking kidding me. You planned this didn’t you Jon?”

Jon Page picks up the glass of scotch from the table and downs what’s in it.

Jon Page:”I actually didn’t, but I do approve of it. Looks like The Company is going down tonight. Good luck Colt.”

Jon Page pats Colt Cooper on the back and exits Matt Anderson’s office. The Cameras fade out to Colt Cooper who stands still enraged.

BBD Returns to sVo!
Ringside

The man in the front row, the man who has been heckling and causing such a disturbance, as to have been ejected once before, only to have gone out and bought a second ticket, suddenly jumps the barricade! Running past the surprised security guards at ringside, this man snatches a microphone, and a steel chair at ringside before quickly rolling into the ring. As the security guards begin to roll in after, the figure blasts them with the steel chair, one after the other.

With the ring cleared and the fans wondering if they should be cheering this mad man on or booing his interruption, the figure drops the chair and reaches up, unzipping his hoody to reveal a ‘Beautiful’ Bobby Dean t-shirt underneath. With the microphone in hand, the figure gives a malicious smile to the camera before raising the mic up to his lips.

BBD: I know what you all must be thinking, this is the allotted time for ‘Beautiful’ Bobby Dean, and his triumph return to the sVo. But wait, that’s not ‘Beautiful’ Bobby Dean! Who is this guy? Hey, isn’t he the asshole who’s been running his big mouth all night long?

Taking the moment to smile, he continues.

BBD: ‘Beautiful’ Bobby Dean couldn’t make it here tonight. I know, what a surprise huh? The sVo, they bill him to come, they continue to book and promote this man, yet what has he done? He fails to show up, he fails to issue an apology to all of you who paid to see him, or even an excuse as to why he couldn’t be here. I must admit, it’s certainly disappointing to have the rug pulled out from under your feet, but I, I would know all about disappointments when it comes to ‘Beautiful’ Bobby Dean.

As this man says the name ‘Beautiful’ Bobby Dean, he says it with a voice dripping venom and scorn.

BBD: You see, the man you all love to hate, is a man I despise. For the man I despise is a man I’m told, I have to love. Why, isn’t it a natural emotion; to love one’s father?

The crowd takes a minute or two to actually put two and two together, and the sudden audible gasp riffles through the arena. The man in the ring smiles, again, not a smile that promises warmth or friendliness, but one of sadistic pleasure.

BBD: I’ve grown up seeing my father, like all of you, in the middle of this very ring, under these very lights. I’ve paid for his autograph, I’ve paid for the opportunity to take a picture with the man, I’ve written him letters, I’ve waited for 18 years for one miniscule acknowledgment from the man. And for 18 years I’ve had to endure the moniker of ‘the Bastard’ of Bobby Dean, but from this moment on I shall embrace it! For I AM ‘The Bastard’ Braedon Dean!

By this point, more security guards are rushing down the aisle, to escort this gentleman out. But before they can corral him in, he manages to slip free, rolling out of the ring and jumping over the barricade. Leaving the way he came in.

???: I’m confused… Are we going to see ‘Beautiful’ Bobby Dean in action tonight, or not?

???: I’m assuming that’s a no.

???: Okay, then what the hell was all that about?

???: Apparently, there is a new BBD in town.

???: I liked the old BBD better.

Revolution Calling III
Backstage

The elevator opens up and the space they walk into is fully furnished and decorated with gold and silver artifacts, just like any casino would essentially be clothed in from within, with egg white carpeted floors. Five steps past the elevator and they were all standing at a dark oak door with a platinum “JON PAGE” name tag attached to the center of it. One of the security guards knocks on the door twice.

Reichous Marx: No secret knock?

Marx’s obnoxious comedy falls on deaf ears as a faint “Yes?” can be heard from within the door.

Security Guard: Mr. Page, it’s Mr. Drexler with casino security here. We have both Mr. Reichous Marx and J.R here for their meeting.

Jon Page: Send them in.

The security guard opens up the door to show a room full of bookcases, a beautiful mahogany wrap around desk, and an astonishingly awe-inspiring fish tank rectangular window that looks out towards the rest of the vast Vegas skyline. From where Reichous and company stood, all you could see were the neon green and pink lights splashing against the glass. President Jon Page is stting at his desk with hands clasped. Everyone walks into the office until he speaks up.

Jon Page: You two gentlemen. (He points at the security guards) Thank you very much but you both are excused.

Page nods his head with a smile as both security guards seem hesitant to leave. Marx snaps around.

Reichous Marx: Just what are you insinuating with your delay in going on your way? What, you think I’m going to execute an attack that knocks him out, sack him up, carry him off to the nowheretowns of the desert and toss him on top of a heaping pile of dead hookers? Sounds like an intricate idea of course, but trust me, I’m not an idiot. Leave. Scoot. Be like a tape deck and no longer be required!

Reichous turns back around toward Page.

J.R: May we sit down?

Jon Page: Oh please, both of you make yourselves comfortable. Glad that you both were able to get into town for the show. You’ll be able to see how things work here. We have quite a structured operation. It took years for us to get to where we are of course, but it’s been a labor of love. J.R, I enjoyed speaking with over the phone and I’m glad to finally be meeting the voice. So, you speak of an arrangement that we had about an office for Mr. Marx? Funny, I don’t remember that part of our conversation.

J.R’s eyes dart towards Marx as he nervously responds.

J.R: Well, I do. Mister, let’s cut to the chase. Marcus Myles is top priority, top shelf, and he’s going to get you those ratings that you’re so drastically looking for. Don’t you think, especially someone that will soon be the reason that the lights stay on here, that that’s more than enough incentive for you to provide the incentive of better room conditions for Mr. Myles?

No hesitation.

Jon Page: No.

J.R:; No?

Reichous stares at Page, completely bewildered by the snapping answer. Page rises from his seat.

Jon Page: Let me ask you a question. Do you think, even for a minute, that guys like Nate Paradine, Cody Williams, Frost, etcetera get special rooms? Well they don’t. There is a sense of complete unity in reference to locker rooms. And it doesn’t matter if you’re the Elvis of sVo, I’m sorry, that’s not going to change.

Reichous nods his head as he gets up.

Reichous Marx: You know what? That’s fine. J.R, that’s fine. We’ll just let that go. Honestly, it’s with my understanding that a locker room that potentially doesn’t have black mold raising from the elder cracks of the concrete walls wouldn’t be of any additional assistance in breaking ground here. It really takes talent, power, control. Isn’t that right, Jon? Wait, don’t answer that. You actually don’t really have the right TO answer it, believe it or not. Man, it’s been somewhat comical seeing how some of your employees treat you here. There’s got to be a reason for that. Let me ask you, have you ever thought about why so many seem to throw you under the bus?

Jon Page: Hm, didn’t know this was going to be a Q and A, but I will say that in order to be in the position that I am in, Mr. Myles, you have to grow accustom to the fact that you are going to have friends and most importantly you are going to have enemies. It’s just part of the general process.

Reichous Marx: Blah, blah. Good commercialized follow up. Listen, if you’re not going to give me the office that I request and you aren’t going to treat me with the respect that I deserve? Then I’ll just go back to that cellar you’ve given me and turn it into exactly what I find is necessary. My necessities, after all at the end of the day, are much more vital to me than yours. We appreciate your approval of the signing of my contract, but I just hope you went back in the history books to see what I’m all about and where I came from. My father is a self-made billionaire tycoon who rules a good percentage of Illinois. There are people that let him assume the position of a God. If you think for a second, a SPLIT HAIR OF A SECOND, that I am here to be pushed around like a weakened pawn along your tattered chess board, then you’ve got another thing coming. Tonight, I’ll be standing on the outside with a studying mind activated. Come next week though, the revolution begins. Let’s go J.R.

J.R tags along like a lost puppy. They reach the door and Marx opens it.

Jon Page: Then I wish you the best of luck, Mr. Myles. I’m much like you. A competitor, not a bystander, and I don’t take losing very well. Make sure you plan out the right adjustments. It’d be a shame to see you fall face first with the whole world watching.

Reichous doesn’t turn around, doesn’t make eye contact. He just grins.

Reichous Marx: Game on.

Marx exits the office. We see Page’s irritability written like black marker on his face as he lets out a deep breath and gets back to work all the while shaking his head.

JVD slowly staggers up to his feet and is quickly laid into by Burbank with some big punches. JVD staggers back at the punches, before Burbank once again takes him down to the mat, this time with a side slam.

“… And The Light Goes Out.”
Backstage

Nathan Paradine is shown walking backstage dressed in a sharp suit, his bag slung over his shoulder, leaving the Goodfellas Arena for the last time. He passes several backstage crew members and he nods at them in acknowledgement, but doesn’t speak. Before he emerges into the car park he pauses and looks at the empty hallway behind him.

Nathan Paradine: “Bye, I guess.”

He walks into the car park, slowly trudging amongst the rows of cars. He pauses suddenly, looking around slowly before shaking his head and continuing to walk. Somewhere close by, a car rumbles to life. Nathan turns around in time to see a sleek black town car speed towards him.

Nathan Paradine: “What the fu-“

There is a sickening crunch as the car collides with Nathan, sending him spinning wildly through the air before he connects with a loud thud, gasping blood onto the cement, his body twisted and broken. The car pauses and the passenger door opens to reveal Hugo Ortega, a neutral expression on his face as he straightens his suit tie. He approaches Nathan slowly and regards his one-time accomplice with a mixture of pity and disgust.

Hugo Ortega: “I told you Nathan… I do not tolerate failure.”

Ortega turns away and returns to the car, leaving Nathan in the middle of the parking lot as the car pulls away. Once, twice, three times Nathan sucks in breath before trying to speak.

Nathan Paradine: “… help…”

After a moment Paradine’s chest stills, and Showdown comes to a quiet, somber end.
