The Tenth Opponent

The arena erupts with anticipation as the Las Vegas & Roulette Champion, JVD, strides confidently down to the ring, his championship belts glinting in the spotlight. The crowd roars in approval, eager to hear what the champion has to say as he stands tall in the center of the ring.

JVD: Ladies and gentlemen, tonight marks a crucial moment in my journey here in the sVo. With Countdown to Violence just around the corner, I stand on the brink of an opportunity of a lifetime. You see, I’m only one win away from cashing in for a shot at the sVo Championship, the one Championship that I have never won…

The crowd cheers in support, rallying behind their beloved champion as he continues.

JVD: And I’ll be damned if I’m going to let this chance & my career slip through my fingers. So tonight, right here in this ring, I’m calling out my opponent for the evening. However the roulette wheel landed on, I’m ready to fight, I’m ready to win, and I’m ready to seize my destiny at Countdown to Violence next week!

The anticipation builds as the crowd eagerly awaits the response. Suddenly, the arena darkens, and the sinister strains of Anthony Moretti’s theme music echo throughout the arena. The sVo Champion emerges from the curtain, a smug grin etched across his face as he makes his way to the ring, microphone in hand.

Moretti: Well, well, well, if it isn’t the “Roulette Champion” himself. JVD, you’re a real piece of work, you know that? Always looking for the easy way out, always trying to skate by on luck and chance. But luck, my friend, is about to run out, because the roulette wheel landed on yours truly….

The crowd boos, with Blood Money having manipulated the roulette wheel all the way through JVD’s title reign. Moretti steps into the ring, his eyes locked on JVD.

Moretti: You want your shot at the sVo Championship? Fine. I can’t wait to be the one that ends your career! We go way back though, so I am prepared to give you a title shot, without picking up that tenth title defence….

The crowd, and JVD, look confused by the sVo Champion.

Moretti: Don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to make it easy for you, but I want to end your career on the biggest stage I can! Live on PPV! So, if you want that opportunity, you’re going to have to put your precious Las Vegas & Roulette Championships on the line as well… You’re not going to need them when I defend this & retire you….

The crowd boo as Moretti holds up his sVo Championship belt.

Moretti: And all that gold is going to look good on me!

JVD’s expression darkens, his suspicions evident as he weighs Moretti’s offer whilst looking at the two title belts he holds over his shoulders, having been on the best run of his career after putting his career in jeopardy. After a moment’s hesitation, he reluctantly nods his agreement.

JVD: Fine, Moretti. You want it? You got it. But mark my words, I’ll walk out of here with both of my titles intact & holding the sVo Heavyweight Championship in the air!

Before JVD can react, the arena erupts into chaos as Joe Barone, Junior Gambino, and Nicky Columbo leap over the barricade and ambush JVD from behind. The crowd gasps in shock as JVD is overwhelmed by the sudden onslaught.

However, just as it seems that JVD is about to be overwhelmed, the arena lights up once again as the rest of the sVo roster pours out from the back. Generation Joint and the Malones rush down to the ring, evening the odds and sending Blood Money scrambling for cover.

The arena buzzes with energy as chaos reigns in the ring, setting the stage for what promises to be an explosive showdown at Countdown to Violence.

What I Really Want

In the bustling backstage area of the Goodfellas Casino Arena, Katie Smith stands ready with her microphone in hand, awaiting her interview subject. Soon enough, Victor Holland strides into view, his focused expression betraying his determination for the night ahead.

Katie Smith: Victor, tonight you’re set to face the impressive newcomer, Dylan MacLeod. How are you feeling going into this match?

Victor Holland: Thanks, Katie. Tonight, I’m stepping into the ring with Dylan MacLeod, and I’ve got to say, I’m feeling confident. I’ve been training hard, and I’m ready to show the sVo universe what I’m made of. MacLeod may be a newcomer, but I won’t be underestimating him for a second. I’ll bring my A-game, and I’ll be looking to secure the win.

Smith nods, acknowledging Holland’s determination, but then raises another topic.

Katie Smith: Now, Victor, you’ve been involved in a heated rivalry with Carlos Vasquez as of late. Is there any chance we might see a showdown between you two at the upcoming PPV?

Holland’s expression shifts slightly, a glint of intensity flickering in his eyes.

Victor Holland: You know, Katie, that’s exactly what’s been on my mind. Carlos and I, we’ve got some unfinished business, and I think the time has come to settle the score once and for all. So, Carlos, if you’re listening, I’m calling you out. Let’s do this, one on one, at the PPV next week. No more running, no more hiding. It’s time to settle this thing, once and for all.

With determination burning in his eyes, Holland shoots a determined glance towards the camera, sending a clear message to his rival. Smith nods, acknowledging Holland’s declaration, as the scene fades to black, setting the stage for what promises to be an explosive showdown at the PPV.

In the sleek and professional office of COO Amy Page, the atmosphere crackles with tension as the formidable figures of Rick Reid, the Dogs of War, and their manager James Shephard occupy the space. Amy Page sits behind her desk, her expression steely as she addresses her associates.

Amy Page: Alright, gentlemen, we have a lot riding on tonight’s match. The Dogs of War need to prove themselves after last week’s setback.

Reid leans against a nearby wall, a sly grin spreading across his face as he chimes in.

Rick Reid: Yeah, you blokes better not go and mess it up again. Can’t have you embarrassing yourselves on live TV now, can we?

The Dogs of War exchange glances, their jaws clenching with determination in response to Reid’s taunts. James Shephard steps forward, his tone cool and collected as he addresses the group.

James Shephard: Rick, your concern is duly noted. But I assure you, the Dogs of War are more than capable of handling their business tonight. We’ve been training hard, and we’re ready to show the sVo universe what we’re made of.

Page nods in agreement, her gaze shifting between the members of the group.

Amy Page: Alright then, let’s make sure we’re all on the same page. Tonight is crucial. We need a win, plain and simple. No excuses.

Champions Ambitions

Backstage in the bustling corridors of the arena, Katie Smith stands poised with her microphone in hand, ready to conduct an interview. In front of her, the Tag Team Champions, the Canadian Connection—Scott Cole and Jake Hughes—stand tall, flanked by their manager, Ali Young. The trio exudes confidence as they await Smith’s questions.

Katie Smith: Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here with the reigning sVo Tag Team Champions, the Canadian Connection, along with their manager Ali Young. Gentlemen, with Countdown to Violence just around the corner, how are you feeling about defending your titles against Generation Joint?

Scott Cole, the more vocal of the two champions, steps forward, a determined glint in his eyes.

Scott Cole: Katie, let me tell you, we’re feeling absolutely unstoppable. Generation Joint may think they have what it takes to dethrone us, but they’ve got another thing coming. Gunner Lang and Jacob Izaz seem more concerned with tangling with Blood Money than focusing on the prize—the sVo Tag Team Championships.

Jake Hughes nods in agreement, his expression serious as he adds his thoughts.

Jake Hughes: That’s right, Katie. While Generation Joint may be distracted by their own vendettas, we’re laser-focused on one thing and one thing only—retaining our titles. We’ve worked too hard and overcome too many obstacles to let anyone take that away from us.

Ali Young steps forward, a steely determination evident in her demeanor.

Ali Young: Scott and Jake are the best damn tag team in the sVo, and no one is going to change that. Generation Joint can bring their A-game, but they’ll quickly learn that the Canadian Connection is on a whole other level. Come Countdown to Violence, we’ll prove once again why we’re the champions.

As the interview concludes, the Canadian Connection and Ali Young exchange confident nods, their unity unshakeable as they prepare to defend their titles at the upcoming PPV.

With a grin, Holland extends a hand to MacLeod, offering a show of sportsmanship.

The crowd responds with cheers and applause, showing their appreciation for MacLeod’s effort. Holland helps MacLeod to his feet, patting him on the back as a sign of respect.

Suddenly, without warning, Carlos Vasquez’s music hits, and the arena is filled with boos as the ‘Miami Maverick’ makes his way down to the ring with a determined look on his face. Ignoring the protests from the crowd, Vasquez slides into the ring and wastes no time in attacking both Holland and MacLeod.

Holland and MacLeod are caught off guard as Vasquez unleashes a vicious assault, showing no mercy as he lays into them with calculated strikes. Finally, Vasquez grabs a microphone, standing over his fallen adversaries with a sneer.

Carlos Vasquez: (panting) You want me, Holland? You’ve got me. But just know, when we step into that ring next week, I’m going to prove once and for all that I am the future of the sVo. And after I’m done with you, there won’t be anyone left to stand in my way!

With a final taunting laugh, Vasquez drops the microphone and exits the ring, leaving a battered Holland and MacLeod behind as the segment comes to a close.

Unity

In the bustling backstage area of the Goodfellas Casino Arena, the office of COO Amy Page stands as a bastion of authority amidst the chaos. Inside, the tension is palpable as Rick Reid, the imposing enforcer of Amy Page’s will, shares a hearty laugh at the expense of the Dogs of War. Across from him, the Australian tag team stand with clenched fists, clearly incensed by their recent defeat.

Rick Reid: (chuckling) I tell ya, lads, I’ve seen better performances from a bunch of kangaroos! Looks like the Southern Boys handed you a right proper beatdown tonight!

The Dogs of War bristle at Reid’s mocking tone, their muscles tensing as if ready to pounce on the burly enforcer. However, before tempers can boil over, Amy Page strides into the room, her presence commanding attention and respect.

Amy Page: (calmly) Gentlemen, enough. We have more important matters to discuss than petty squabbles over a single match.

Her words cut through the tension like a knife, silencing the room as all eyes turn to the COO.

Amy Page: (continuing) Rick, I’ve been impressed with your performance as of late. You’ve proven yourself to be a valuable asset to the sVo, and I believe you’re ready for a bigger spotlight. That’s why I’ve arranged for you to have a high-profile match at Countdown to Violence next week.

Reid’s eyes light up with anticipation, a predatory grin spreading across his face as he eagerly awaits the details.

Amy Page: (smirking) But here’s the catch. I want the Dogs of War in your corner, ensuring that nothing stands in your way. Unity is key, gentlemen, and I expect nothing less from all of you.

The Dogs of War exchange wary glances, clearly still harboring resentment towards Reid. However, faced with Amy Page’s unwavering gaze, they reluctantly nod in agreement, recognizing the importance of presenting a united front.

Rick Reid: (smirking) Looks like we’ve got ourselves a deal, boss. You can count on us to get the job done.

With the matter settled, Amy Page nods in approval before exiting the room, leaving Reid and the Dogs of War to strategize for the challenges that lie ahead. Julian Fiasco: Well, it looks like Danny Domino has finally broken his losing streak, but it seems the fans are still not too keen on him.

Jermiah Sloan: That’s right, Julian. It seems like the actions of ‘the Bully’ have left a sour taste in the mouths of many here tonight.

Undeterred by the mixed reaction, Danny Domino snatches a microphone from ringside, his brow furrowing in confusion at the crowd’s response. Ignoring the jeers, he brings the mic to his lips, his voice cutting through the sea of disapproval.

Danny Domino: Hey, what’s with all the hate, huh? I finally get a win under my belt, and you people still can’t give me a break?

The boos only intensify in response, but Danny Domino presses on, a determined glint in his eye as he scans the crowd.

Danny Domino: You know what? I’m sick and tired of being the laughingstock around here. I’m sick of all the jokes, sick of all the ridicule…and I’m especially sick of one person in particular.

The crowd murmurs with anticipation, curious to hear who Danny Domino is referring to. Suddenly, a sly grin spreads across ‘the Bully’s’ face as he points a finger towards the entrance ramp.

Danny Domino: Alex Sterling! You think it’s funny to laugh at my expense, huh? Well, I’ve had enough of your games. So, how about we settle this once and for all? You and me, next week at Countdown to Violence. What do you say, Sterling? You got the guts to step into the ring with me?

The arena erupts into a chorus of cheers and jeers, the anticipation thick in the air as Danny Domino awaits a response from his would-be opponent. The room reverberates with the resounding confidence of Generation Joint, their camaraderie and unity serving as a source of strength as they psych themselves up for the challenge ahead.

Not Scared

Katie Smith stands backstage, microphone in hand, ready to interview the determined Johnny Dorn. As she approaches, Dorn turns to face her, his expression resolute and unwavering.

Katie Smith: Johnny, last week we saw Nightmare issue a chilling warning to you in the ring. Are his threats going to deter you from facing Night at the PPV next week?

Johnny Dorn: Katie, let me make one thing clear. The warning from Nightmare may have sent shivers down some people’s spines, but not mine. This match against Night is a dream match, a clash of two titans in the sVo, and nothing, I repeat, nothing, is going to stand in my way.

Dorn’s voice carries a sense of determination, his eyes burning with intensity as he speaks.

Johnny Dorn: I’ve worked my entire career for moments like these, and I’m not about to let anyone, not Nightmare, not anyone else, rob me of this opportunity. Night, you better be ready, because at the PPV, I’m coming for you with everything I’ve got.

Suddenly, the door swings open, and Frankie and Money Malone stride in, their expressions determined.

Frankie Malone: JVD, we’ve got your back next week against Moretti. You won’t have to face him alone.

JVD looks up, a hint of gratitude in his eyes, but he raises a hand to stop them before they can say more.

JVD: I appreciate the offer, guys. I really do. But this is something I need to do on my own. Moretti’s been a thorn in my side for too long, and I need to settle this my way.

Frankie and Money exchange a glance, understanding the gravity of JVD’s words.

Money Malone: Alright, JVD. We respect your decision. But if Blood Money decides to stick their noses where they don’t belong, you can count on us to have your back.

JVD nods, a silent agreement passing between them.

JVD: Thanks, guys. That means a lot. But let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. I’ve got a score to settle with Moretti, and I plan on doing it fair and square.

Ringside
Challenge Accepted

As the arena buzzes with the aftermath of the intense match, Johnny All Star stands victorious in the center of the ring, his expression conflicted. He holds the microphone in his hand, weighing his words carefully.

Johnny All Star: Ladies and gentlemen, tonight… tonight was not how I wanted things to go down.

The crowd murmurs in response, sensing the unease in All Star’s voice.

Johnny All Star: But sometimes in this business, things don’t go according to plan. Sometimes, you’ve got to roll with the punches and make the best of a bad situation.

He pauses, his gaze drifting towards the entrance ramp.

Johnny All Star: And speaking of bad situations, Trailer Trash Terry, you’ve been running your mouth for far too long. You want a piece of me at the PPV next week? You’ve got it! I will beat you & then whoever walks out as sVo Champion…. I’m coming for you next!

As All Star’s challenge echoes through the arena, the lights dim, and the unmistakable figure of Trailer Trash Terry emerges at the top of the ramp. The tension crackles between them as they lock eyes, the anticipation for their impending clash palpable.
