sVo Showdown 180
Live on the HOTv Network
Goodfellas Casino Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada
14th April 2024

[The camera pans over the roaring crowd at the Goodfellas Casino Arena, the excitement palpable as the stage is set for another electrifying edition of sVo Showdown. The familiar voices of Julian Fiasco and Jermiah Sloan can be heard resonating throughout the arena.]

Julian Fiasco: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another explosive night of sVo action! We’re live from the heart of Las Vegas, where the stakes are high and the drama is even higher!

Jermiah Sloan: That’s right, Julian! The atmosphere here tonight is absolutely electric, and for good reason. We’ve got a jam-packed lineup, featuring some of the most intense rivalries and compelling storylines the sVo has to offer.

Julian Fiasco: Absolutely, Jermiah. And one rivalry that’s been gripping the sVo universe is the ongoing war between the Japanese brothers, Night and Nightmare. These two have been at each other’s throats for weeks now, and tonight promises to be no different.

Jermiah Sloan: And let’s not forget about the whispers circulating around the arena tonight. Could we see JVD step up to challenge Anthony Moretti for the sVo Championship at Countdown to Violence? The anticipation is killing me!

Julian Fiasco: Indeed, Jermiah. But we’ll have to wait and see how that unfolds. For now, let’s get this show started and dive headfirst into the action! Stay tuned, folks, because tonight promises to be one for the history books!

[The crowd erupts into cheers as the cameras cut to various shots of the arena, setting the stage for an unforgettable night of sVo Showdown.]

Looking for Answers

[The camera cuts to the office of sVo COO Amy Page, where the atmosphere is tense as Blood Money storms in, led by their leader, Anthony Moretti. Amy Page looks up from her desk, a mixture of surprise and annoyance evident on her face.]

Amy Page: What is the meaning of this intrusion?

Anthony Moretti: Cut the crap, Amy. We need to talk.

[Moretti strides forward, flanked by his cohorts Joe Barone, Junior Gambino, and Nicky Columbo. He leans menacingly over Amy’s desk, his expression unreadable.]

Amy Page: I don’t appreciate being spoken to like that, Moretti. What’s the issue?

Anthony Moretti: The issue is Money Malone. Last week, you let him waltz back into the sVo without so much as a second thought. After everything he’s done to us, you just let him walk right in?

[Amy Page narrows her eyes, her patience wearing thin.]

Amy Page: I had no knowledge of Money Malone’s presence last week. But regardless, I’ve doubled security for tonight’s event to prevent any unwanted surprises.

[Moretti’s lips curl into a smirk, a dangerous glint in his eyes.]

Anthony Moretti: Security is all well and good, Amy, but that’s not what I’m after. I want him signed to a contract. That way, when we inevitably find him lurking around here tonight, we can deal with him legally. And trust me, we will find him.

[Amy Page sighs, rubbing her temples in frustration.]

Amy Page: Fine, Moretti. You want him signed? Consider it done. But I won’t tolerate any more disruptions or demands from you and your crew. Main event tonight – Blood Money vs the Malones!

[Moretti nods, satisfaction evident in his demeanor as he turns to leave, followed closely by his cohorts. Amy Page watches them go, a troubled expression clouding her features as she contemplates the chaos that awaits her tonight.]

Make A Name for Yourself Kid

[The arena erupts with applause as Kenneth D Williams stands tall in the ring, victorious after a hard-fought battle against the Canadian rookie, Dylan McLeod. Williams extends his hand towards McLeod, offering a sign of respect to his opponent.]

Julian Fiasco: What a showing from Kenneth D Williams tonight, Jermiah! He faced stiff competition in the form of Dylan McLeod, but he managed to pull off the win!

Jermiah Sloan: Absolutely, Julian. And look at this sportsmanship from Williams, offering his hand to McLeod after the match.

[McLeod looks hesitant for a moment, but eventually accepts Williams’ gesture, shaking his hand firmly. The crowd cheers even louder, appreciating the display of respect between the two competitors.]

Julian Fiasco: Despite the loss, Dylan McLeod can hold his head high tonight. He went toe-to-toe with one of the sVo’s best and showed incredible heart and determination.

Jermiah Sloan: That’s right, Julian. McLeod may be disappointed now, but with performances like this, it’s only a matter of time before he makes a name for himself here in the sVo.

[As McLeod exits the ring, the crowd continues to cheer, showing their appreciation for the young rookie’s efforts. Williams nods in approval, acknowledging McLeod’s potential before turning to exit the ring himself, basking in the adulation of the fans.]

Against the Best

Katie Smith: Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here backstage with Johnny Dorn, who recently issued a challenge to Night for a match at the upcoming PPV. Johnny, can you shed some light on why you decided to make this challenge?

Johnny Dorn: Hey, Katie. Thanks for having me. Look, Night is one of the best in this business, and if I want to prove myself as a top competitor in the sVo, I need to test myself against the best. That’s why I called out Night for a match at the PPV. I want to see where I stand, and what better way to do that than by facing off against the Japanese icon?

Katie Smith: Strong words, Johnny. But speaking of tonight, you have a match against Bronson Martinez. Any thoughts on that?

Johnny Dorn: Bronson Martinez… he’s a tough competitor, no doubt about it. But tonight, my focus is on him. I’ll deal with Night when the time comes. As for Martinez, well, he seems to think he’s going to make short work of me. But let me tell you something, Bronson, I’m not backing down from anyone. So bring everything you’ve got, because I’ll be ready.

[As Dorn finishes speaking, Bronson Martinez approaches, cutting in on the interview.]

Bronson Martinez: Oh, look who it is, Johnny Dorn, trying to play with the big boys now, huh? Well, let me give you a piece of advice, buddy. Focus on our match tonight, because if you’re not careful, you might not even make it to the PPV to face Night. Got it?

Johnny Dorn: [Smirks] Thanks for the warning, Bronson. But don’t worry about me. I’ll be just fine.

[The tension between Dorn and Martinez is palpable as they exchange glares, setting the stage for their upcoming showdown.]

Consequences

[As Johnny Dorn stands victorious in the ring, his music blaring through the arena, the giant screen suddenly flickers to life, capturing everyone’s attention. The audience falls into an uneasy silence as the ominous figure of Nightmare appears on the screen, his masked visage shrouded in darkness.]

Nightmare: [Speaking in a chilling, gravelly voice in Japanese, subtitled for the audience] Johnny Dorn… you have crossed into a realm where you do not belong. You dare to meddle in affairs that are not your own. This is a warning, a plea from the depths of darkness—stay out of the family business, lest you face consequences beyond your comprehension.

[The message hangs heavy in the air as Nightmare’s image fades from the screen, leaving behind an eerie silence and a sense of foreboding.]

Backstage
Handle Business

Inside the bustling office of Amy Page, the COO of the sVo, the tension hangs thick in the air. Amy sits behind her desk, her expression stern as she addresses the formidable trio standing before her: the Dogs of War, flanked by their enigmatic manager, James Shepherd.

Rick Reid, the imposing enforcer of Amy’s will, stands nearby, his presence a silent reminder of the consequences of failure. His scowl speaks volumes, a reflection of the intensity simmering just beneath the surface.

Amy Page: Alright, listen up. Tonight is crucial. We can’t afford any slip-ups, especially not against Generation Joint. They’ve been gaining too much momentum lately, and I won’t have them holding our Tag Team Championships.

She fixes each member of the Dogs of War with a firm gaze, her voice brooking no argument.

Amy Page: James, make sure your boys are ready. I want them focused, sharp, and ruthless. We can’t afford any mistakes.

James Shepherd nods solemnly, his eyes gleaming with a steely resolve. He knows the stakes are high, and failure is not an option.

James Shepherd: Don’t worry, Amy. The Dogs of War are always ready for battle. We’ll take care of Generation Joint, just like we always do.

Rick Reid shifts his weight impatiently, his expression darkening with impatience. He knows the importance of the task at hand, but he’s not one for idle chatter.

Rick Reid: Enough talk. Get out there and handle business.

With a final nod from Amy Page, the group disperses, their minds focused on the challenge ahead. Tonight, victory is the only option, and they’ll stop at nothing to ensure they emerge triumphant.

Being Held Back

Katie Smith: Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here with “The Miami Maverick” Carlos Vasquez. Carlos, last week you shocked everyone by turning your back on Victor Holland. Can you shed some light on your actions?

Carlos Vasquez: Katie, let me make something clear. Victor Holland was holding me back. Three weeks in a row, his mistakes cost us victories. I can’t afford to be held back in this business. So, I made the tough decision to cut him loose and focus on my own path to success.

Katie Smith: Tonight, you have a match against James Von Drake with gold on the line. What’s your mindset going into this match?

Carlos Vasquez: Katie, tonight marks the beginning of my “road to ten.” I’m tired of being overlooked, tired of being held back. Tonight, I’m going to prove why I’m “The Miami Maverick” and why I deserve to be at the top. James Von Drake, get ready to feel the heat because tonight, I’m walking out with gold around my waist.

Tough Loss

The office of COO Amy Page buzzes with activity as the night progresses backstage at the sVo event. The atmosphere is tense following the Dogs of War’s recent loss against Generation Joint. Inside, Amy Page sits at her desk, surrounded by monitors displaying various matches taking place throughout the arena. The Dogs of War, still reeling from their defeat, enter the room, their frustration palpable in the air.

Amy Page: Gentlemen, come in, take a seat.

The Dogs of War step into the office, their mood heavy after their recent loss.

James Shephard: Yeah, yeah, we heard you wanted to see us. What’s the deal, Amy?

Amy Page: Firstly, I want to commend you on your efforts out there. It wasn’t the outcome we hoped for, but every loss is a lesson learned.

Rick Reid looks furious at Amy for taking it so easy on the Dogs of War, after demanding victory earlier in the evening.

Rick Reid: Lesson learned? We don’t need lessons from-

Amy Page: Interrupting Rick, let’s keep this professional. Now, I know tensions are high, but bickering among yourselves won’t help anyone.

James Shephard: We’re not ones to make excuses, but my boys barely caught their breath since our last match on Friday night.

Amy Page: I understand, and you have a point. Competing two nights in a weekend is no easy feat.

Rick Reid: Seriously excuses? Boss come on….

Page holds a hand up to stop Reid in his tracks.

Amy Page: Now, use this setback as fuel to come back even stronger next time. I have faith in all of you.

The tension in the room eases slightly as Amy’s words sink in.

Amy Page: Now, get some rest. We’ll regroup and come back swinging.

The Dogs of War nod, acknowledging Amy’s words, before exiting the office with renewed determination. Amy watches them go, hopeful that they will bounce back from their defeat and prove themselves in the ring once again as Reid stares a hole through his boss.

Johnny All Star vs. Danny Domino

Face Me

Katie Smith: Backstage, I’m here with Trailer Trash Terry, who seems to have a message for one Johnny All Star. Terry, care to share your thoughts?

Trailer Trash Terry: You know, Katie, I just witnessed All Star’s match, and let me tell ya, I wasn’t impressed. He’s been dodging me for weeks, avoiding the inevitable showdown between us. Well, I’ve had enough of his games. All Star, listen up, stop running scared, and face me like a man!

As Terry delivers his message, Johnny All Star emerges from his match, catching wind of Terry’s challenge.

Johnny All Star: Interrupting You want a piece of me, Terry? You got it! I’m tired of your trash talk, let’s settle this once and for all at the PPV!

Tensions flare as Terry and All Star get into a heated exchange, prompting security to intervene and separate the two.

Katie Smith: There you have it, folks! The challenge has been laid down, and it looks like we’ll have a showdown between Trailer Trash Terry and Johnny All Star at the upcoming PPV!

Bullied

Wrestlers move hurriedly through the corridors, some celebrating victories while others nurse their wounds from defeat. In a quieter corner of the locker room area, Danny Domino trudges back to his haven of frustration, his recent loss weighing heavily on his shoulders. Meanwhile, Alex Sterling lounges on a bench nearby, a mischievous grin playing on his lips as he waits for the perfect opportunity to stir the pot.

Julian Fiasco: As the action heats up in the ring, tensions are running high backstage at the Goodfellas Casino Arena. Let’s head over to the locker room area where we find Danny Domino making his way back after another tough loss.

Camera cuts to the locker room where Alex Sterling is seen sitting on a bench, scrolling through his phone. Danny Domino enters, visibly frustrated.

Danny Domino: Sighs heavily Can’t catch a break, can I?

Alex Sterling: Chuckles Looks like Lady Luck isn’t on your side tonight, huh?

Danny Domino: Irritated You think this is funny, Sterling? You’ve been riding me for weeks about my losing streak, and now you’re laughing at me?

Alex Sterling: Hey, I’m just stating the facts, Danny. Maybe if you spent more time training and less time running your mouth, you’d actually win a match for once.

Danny’s frustration boils over as he clenches his fists.

Danny Domino: Shut your mouth, Sterling! You think you’re so clever, huh? Mocking me when you know damn well you haven’t faced half the competition I have!

Alex continues to smirk, goading Danny further.

Alex Sterling: Keep telling yourself that, Danny. But until you start winning matches, you’ll always be a loser in my book. Seems to me like you are getting a big old dose of karma right now….

Unable to contain his anger, Danny Domino storms out of the locker room, leaving Alex Sterling chuckling to himself.

Julian Fiasco: Looks like tensions are running high backstage tonight, folks! Will ‘the Bully’ Danny Domino be able to turn his luck around, or will Alex Sterling continue to get under his skin?

JVD vs. Carlos Vasquez

Ringside
The Countdown to Violence

As the adrenaline of victory courses through his veins, JVD stands tall in the center of the ring, the Las Vegas & Roulette Championship gleaming on his shoulder. With the crowd roaring their approval, he raises a microphone to his lips, the anticipation palpable in the air.

JVD: “Ladies and gentlemen, tonight… tonight was more than just another successful title defense. Tonight, it’s about something much bigger. It’s about proving to each and every one of you, and to myself, that I am worthy of the honor and the responsibility that comes with being the sVo Champion.”

The crowd’s cheers grow louder as JVD’s words resonate throughout the arena.

JVD: “I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I’m on a mission. A mission to prove that I am the best damn wrestler in this company. And that mission… it’s brought me here, to this moment.”

JVD’s expression turns serious, his gaze piercing through the crowd as he continues.

JVD: “But I know what’s at stake. I know that if I don’t get those last few wins, if I don’t make it to the top, my career… it’s over. And you know what? That’s fine by me. Because I’ve put everything on the line for this opportunity, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

He pauses, letting the gravity of his words sink in, before a determined fire ignites in his eyes.

JVD: “So, Anthony Moretti, listen up. At the Countdown to Violence PPV, it’s all or nothing. I’m coming for that sVo Championship, and I won’t stop until it’s around my waist. Because I’ve got the fans behind me, I’ve got the drive, and most importantly… I’ve got nothing left to lose. Get ready, Moretti. The countdown to my ten wins and your downfall starts now.”

With a final nod to the crowd, JVD drops the microphone, his gaze never wavering from the fans.

You’re going up against Blood Money, the same group that kicked you to the curb. But you know what? Tonight, you’re gonna show ’em what you’re made of.”

Money nods, his jaw set in determination as he listens to Frankie’s words.

Frankie Malone: “You’ve been itching for this moment, and now it’s finally here. You’re gonna go out there and tear the roof off this place. Blood Money may think they’ve got it all figured out, but they’ve never faced someone like us before. You’re hungry, I’m motivated, and you’ve got the heart of a lion. They won’t know what hit ’em.”

With a reassuring pat on the shoulder, Frankie gives Money a confident grin.

Frankie Malone: “So go out there and show ’em why they shouldn’t have messed with the Malones. You’ve got this, cousin. I believe in you.”
