sVo Showdown 150
Live on the HOTv Network on PWA:TV
Goodfellas Casino Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada
30th April 2023

After the PWA intro, the entrance video package for sVo Sunday Night Showdown begins, accompanied by the theme song of ‘Showdown’ by Pendulum. Highlights of past action from 2013 to present day are sped up, showing the likes of August Lazar, Bobby Dean, Roscoe Shame, Night, Jay Wildman, Cody Williams & Nathan Paradine! As the video package finally comes to an end with an extended look at the ‘Sunday Night Showdown’ logo, the camera cuts to an exterior shot of the Goodfellas Casino Arena, in the heart of the Las Vegas strip, before cutting to a live shot of inside the arena.

The camera pans around the sold-out crowd, most of them on their feet and screaming loudly whilst trying to get their homemade sign shown in front of the camera. The cameras finally head over to the commentary table, where Julian Fiasco and Jeremiah Sloan welcome the fans watching on the HOTv network on PWA:TV to the broadcast and begin to break down some of the action that will take place on tonight’s show, including a massive main event with Bobby Dean taking on Bronson Johnson!

A Beautiful Scene

The fans in the sold out Goodfellas Casino Arena cheer as “Starts Right Here” by Foreign Air and Kenny Mason hits the sound system, and the sVo Champion makes his way out onto the top of the entrance ramp! There is a big cheer as August Lazar stands at the top of the ramp and poses with the big gold belt for a few seconds, before marching down the entrance ramp and climbing into the ring.

Lazar poses again with the gold, before he is handed a microphone by the ring announcer Natasha Ortiz.

August Lazar: “Las Vegas! What Up?!”

The fans cheer loudly for the big Romanian, speaking in his trademark accent.

August Lazar: “Now we are only two weeks away. Two weeks until the man they call ‘Beautiful’ challenges me again for this….”

Lazar holds the big gold belt in the air again, to loud cheers from the fans.

August Lazar: “The only thing that is going to be ‘Beautiful’ at the end of the PPV is going to be the sight of me, once again, holding this gold in the air!”

There is another big cheer from the crowd, but the big man isn’t done yet.

August Lazar: “Ever since Bobby Dean returned to the sVo, he has had everything handed to him. I have had to scratch and claw to get my spot with everything I have ever earned, not just in this company but in this country! At the PPV I am facing a nostalgia act, a has been, a relic, a parody! Don’t you dare think that you can walk into this ring and take everything I have worked for my whole life from me!”

Lazar holds the belt in the air again passionately as his music hits the sound system but is drowned out by the cheers from the fans.

Let Them Fight!

With Joe Barone scoring the three count over the Las Vegas Champion in the chaotic six man tag match, the referee tries to raise the arm of Blood Money in the air in victory, but it doesn’t seem like Patriot Act are done yet!

Armstrong, Abbott and Jordan attack Blood Money from behind! The brawl quickly swings in the favour of Blood Money, as Junior Gambino rolls into the ring to join the action! Dallas Jordan is grabbed by Johnny Moretti from behind, who holds him ready for Gambino, but as Gambino comes off of the ropes looking for a spinning heel kick, Jordan ducks and Gambino catches Johnny Moretti in the face!

The fans cheer for the misfire from Blood Money, as Johnny Moretti staggers back in shock! With Patriot Act laid out, the Tag Team Champions try to get between Johnny Moretti and Junior Gambino to stop them coming to blows!

A ‘let them fight’ chant goes up around the crowd, as Barone and Anthony Moretti do their best to drag their colleagues in separate directions, with Johnny Moretti ready to go to blows with Gambino! Amongst the chaos, there is a big cheer as down the entrance ramp runs El Froggo, who slides into the ring!

With just Dallas Jordan in the ring and looking dazed, El Froggo takes him down to the mat before locking in a boston crab! The fans cheer loudly, as Dallas Jordan taps out wildly, to the man he declined to give a Las Vegas Championship shot to!

El Froggo keeps the hold locked on despite Jordan tapping, as referees rush down the entrance ramp to restore order, as Showdown heads to a commercial!

Home Visit Pt 1

After the comprehensive win for ‘The Original Rocker’, Lang stands in the middle of the ring and has his arm raised in the air in victory! Lang soaks in the cheers from the fans, but suddenly the giant screen in the arena flickers into life, on a close up of Carny Sinclair’s face!

Carny Sinclair: “Hey, this thing on?”

Sinclair tabs the camera lens with his finger, before laughing manically into the camera. The camera zooms out, to see Reznikov flanking Sinclair.

Carny Sinclair: “Congrats on the win Gunner, real impressive….”

Sinclair slow claps Gunner mockingly, before laughing again.

Carny Sinclair: “But I am not here for platitudes, I am out here because I heard what you said about me last time on Showdown…..”

Gunner Lang stands patiently in the middle of the ring, watching the big screen.

Carny Sinclair: “Now that wasn’t very nice what you said was it Gunner? In fact it was so unkind, we have decided to do something unkind to you…. Tonight…..”

Lang shouts at Sinclair to come out and face him, but as the camera pans out further, the former 2x Las Vegas Champion looks panicked as he works out where Sinclair actually is….

Carny Sinclair: “That’s right Gunner man, we decided to pay a little visit to your son Flip…. See how his broken neck is recovering…. See if there isn’t any other bones of his we can’t break in the process…..”

Sinclair gives the nod to Reznikov, and the big Russian kicks down the front door, before entering the house! Sinclair laughs manically into the camera, before seemingly turning it over which causes the picture on the giant screen to cut to static. The fans in the arena are in shock, as Gunner Lang leaps out of the ring and springs up the entrance ramp to the back, as Showdown heads to a commercial break!

Making a Mark

The cameras head backstage to the interview pit, and there are loud cheers from the crowd watching in the arena on the giant screen as they spot Katie Smith standing alongside hall of famer Night! The former 2x sVo Champion looks focused, still sporting some bruises on his face from his encounter with Hugo Ryzing two weeks ago on Showdown 149. Some highlights of Hugo Ryzing’s attack on Night are shown on a nearby monitor, before Smith begins the questions.

Katie Smith: “Night, thank you for joining me here tonight! Now we just saw some highlights from Showdown 149 where you were viciously attacked after your victory by Hugo Ryzing! Have you had any answers yet about the attack?”

Night: “I don’t need answers, I know exactly why Hugo Ryzing did what he did. I was in his position once upon a time, clawing for my position on the card. I didn’t exactly go about it the same way as he did, but I did something similar, I found the most impressive person I could find who at my time was ‘the Hope’ Isaac White….”

There is a big cheer from the crowd for the nostalgic name.

Night: “Now I didn’t attack White from behind, but I did challenge him to a match, and we tore the house down time and time again for the sVo International Championship. Those matches put me on the map, and I guess that is what Hugo is looking to do from me….”

There are boos from the crowd at the mention of Ryzing’s name.

Night: “Well Hugo, this whole thing could have been avoided if you stood up like a man and came and challenged me, I would have gladly accepted! Competition is what the sVo is and always has been about! I am not about to run from it here, so Hugo, you want to make your name? You want to make your mark? How about you meet me one on one in the ring at Roll the Dice on the 14th of May and let’s see if you really know what you let yourself in for!”

The fans cheer loudly as Night stares down the camera lens, the challenge clearly sent to Hugo Ryzing for the PPV!

sVo Roulette Championship Match
‘Razor’ Rick Reid (c) vs. ‘The Granite Kid’ Kyle McRae

Backstage
End of the Line?

The camera cuts backstage to the Blood Money locker room, where there is still some bad feeling in the group after the misfire earlier in the night after their six man tag team victory over Patriot Act! The tag team champions Anthony Moretti and Joe Barone are still doing their best to maintain order, standing in between Johnny Moretti and Junior Gambino who are ready to tear each other apart!

Johnny Moretti: “You did that on purpose you little shit, you are a dead man!”

Junior Gambino: “Come on Johnny, let’s go! I have had enough of you….”

Gambino and Johnny Moretti make another lunge at each other, but Barone and Anthony Moretti continue to be able to hold them back.

Anthony Moretti: “Enough! Enough! This bullshit is no good for the family, it’s getting us no where!”

Gambino & Johnny Moretti barely even hear Anthony Moretti over their attempts to get at each other.

Anthony Moretti: “I have had enough of this shit!”

Anthony Moretti slaps Junior Gambino across the face, drawing shock from the youngest member of the group and a smile from his half brother, until Anthony Moretti then turns and slaps Johnny across the face as well!

Anthony Moretti: “You two better settle your differences and settle it quick. Me and the big man have had enough, you squash this once and for all at the PPV, otherwise this whole thing is done! Capishe!?!”

Johnny Moretti and Junior Gambino look shocked, as Anthony Moretti and Joe Barone storm out of the locker room, leaving the pair alone. Are we seeing Blood Money break apart at the seems as the scene fades out?

The Last Dance

The fans cheer loudly for Jacob Izaz, as the fans raise his arm in the air in victory and he celebrates picking up the win in his quest to regaining the Las Vegas Championship gold! Izaz climbs out of the ring and slaps hands with the fans at ringside, as he makes his way back up the entrance ramp, continuing to celebrate!

One man that is not celebrating is in the ring, and that is JVD, who is slowly pulling himself up to his feet after yet another defeat. JVD looks angry with himself, as he calls for the microphone. Natasha Ortiz looks confused for a few seconds, before handing the mic over to JVD.

JVD: “I bet you are all really surprised I lost that match huh?”

The fans don’t know how to react to JVD, as he looks at them and shakes his head.

JVD: “Hard to believe that I was once main eventing PPV’s with hall of famers, winning the Victory Cup….”

Von Drake shakes his head again.

JVD: “Seems like my time in a wrestling ring might soon be up, I don’t want to be one of these guys that sticks around way past their sell by date, although from my recent record maybe I am nearly there already…”

There is a smattering of boos from the fans.

JVD: “That is why I am making a promise to myself and to all of you today. The next time I step into this ring and lose a match, I am done, my career is done….”

Von Drake drops the microphone and gets a mixed reaction from the crowd, as the cameras head backstage.

Acceptance

With only moments to go until the main event of the evening, the camera heads backstage to the interview pit for the last time, where Katie Smith is standing by with a microphone in hand, next to ‘the Human Highlight Reel’ Kenneth D Williams!

There is a big cheer from the fans watching on the big screen for Williams, who is dressed in normal street clothes for tonight.

Katie Smith: “Kenny, thanks for joining me tonight! Now it’s been two weeks since you through out the challenge to William Vorheez for a match at the Roll the Dice PPV! The fans have all been asking me the same thing since, ahs the challenge been accepted?”

Williams shrugs his shoulders looking disappointed.

Kenneth D Williams: “Your guess is as good as mine Katie. I been waiting by the phone, I been checking my emails, I been looking at my DMs and I been scrolling my texts and Whatsapps….. Nothing! Nought!”

There is a smattering of boos from the crowd.

Kenneth D Williams: “Not a word yet from the big man! It seems maybe the big bad William Vorheez is afraid of facing little old me!”

Williams shrugs his shoulders again, but as he does there is suddenly a roar in the background and Williams is knocked down from behind! Smith exits as quickly as she can, as the camera pans out to see that it is William Vorheez, flanked by the Black Brothers! Igor and Boris hold Kenneth D Williams down by an arm each, as Vorheez drops down to one knee in front of a dazed Kenneth D Williams.

William Vorheez: “Consider this your challenge accepted….”

Vorheez sneers in the face of Williams, before standing back up and landing a big boot to his face, that Williams can’t get his hands up to defend himself from! Vorheez wears Williams out with big kicks to the face as Williams has his arms held by the Black Brothers, until security and referees rush to the scene to restore order as Showdown heads to its last commercial of the evening!
