sVo Showdown Episode #065
12th December 2010
Goodfellas Casino Arena, Las Vegas Nevada

“Natural High” by The Union Underground hits the sound system as the sVo Showdown entrance video hits the screens of TV’s all over the world! The video featuring the likes of sVo Champion Roscoe Shame, Night, Bobby Dean and Grimnir shows some of the best action to have ever taken place on the flagship show of the Sanctioned Violence Organization.

As the video comes to an end, the camera cuts to the arena and pans around the sold out crowd as pyro’s shoot up from the entrance stage whilst the theme music continues to blast out over the sound system. The camera picks out several signs in the crowd as the fireworks continue to explode around the ringside area.

The camera then pans across to the entrance stage, where a video recap of last weeks action is shown on the giant Violence-Tron before tonight’s action gets under-way.

LAST WEEK ON SHOWDOWN #64sVo Boss Matt Anderson demanded that Nathan Paradine tell the world who the Masked Man Is…..

“Real Solution #9” by White Zombie begins to blast over the sound system as Matt Anderson appears at the top of the ramp to a tide of boos from the crowd in the Goodfellas Casino. He laughs and indicates for a troop of Company suits to follow him down the ramp, ordering them to circle the ring while he climbs to steel stairs. He calls for a mic and his music dies down as he motions for silence.

Matt Anderson: “All of you, shut up! Tonight is going to be a monutmentous occasion in the history of the Company. In just a few moments we will remove the thorn in our side known as the Masked Man and take a step towards eliminating all opposition to our plans. So, without further ado, I’d like to invite down to the ring… Nathan Paradine!”

“Sorry You’re Not A Winner” by Enter Shikari begins to play, the familiar techno beat giving way to screeching guitar as Nathan Paradine emerges from backstage, slowly walking down the ramp. The camera focuses on various signs around the arena such as “Sellout” and “We Support the sVo”, before focusing on several male fans jeering at the Australian Submission Machine. Paradine climbs into the ring and stares down Anderson as his music dies away.

Matt Anderson: “Thank you for joining me here, Nathan. Now, if you’ll be so kind as to call down your masked friend and we can get this over and done with, alright?”

Paradine slowly nods and raises the mic to speak, however there is a sudden uproar from ringside. Several fans part as the Masked Man approaches the ring from the crowd, hopping over the guardrail and shouldering past the security before climbing up onto the ring. He walks to the center of the ring, looking at both Paradine and Anderson before holding out his hand for the mic with Anderson grudgingly obliging.

Masked Man: “You know, I have been here ever since the sVo first began in 2007. I watched men like Mike Polowy, Psyko Stevo, Jay Wildman and Kerry Milano pass through this company before its eventual downfall at the end of 2008. I sat and watched it rise again like a phoenix from the ashes, and I witnessed firsthand the destruction of everything that I helped build thanks to the Company.”

The Masked Man turns to face Anderson, jabbing him in the chest with his finger.

Masked Man: “You’re nothing more than a puppet, Anderson. You’re not even half the man I was, and that’s saying something. You people have destroyed my life and for too long I have stood by in the shadows. Not anymore! Regardless of what happens tonight, I will join the fight against the Company. I have been thinking long and hard about the discussion I had with this man Nathan Paradine on Showdown two weeks ago and I have decided to finally fight for something I believe in; the destruction of the Company. I will go along with whatever decision Nathan makes tonight, because I believe that he knows what he is doing.”

Anderson snatches the mic away in fury.

Matt Anderson: “Shut the hell up! You can’t even reveal your true identity to the world. Why is that? Is it shame? Is it Peter Gimour hiding behind that mask? Paradine, I’m going to give you two minutes to get that mask off before I fire you, understand!? Make your choice now!”

The Masked Man turns to face Paradine, daring him to remove the mask. Chants echoe around the arena, ranging from “take it off!” to “you are fired!”. Paradine’s hands twitch as he contemplates his decision…

Matt Anderson: “Do it! Do it now damn you!”

Paradine turns away from the Masked Man, his face twitching. Anderson raises the mic, his face beet red.

Matt Anderson: “Nathan Paradine, you’re fi-“

Before he can finish, Paradine spins around and grabs the Masked Man, attempting to tug the mask off his face. The crowd explodes, however before Paradine can remove the mask “Travel Now Journey Infinitely” by Trinacria begins to play on the sound system. Paradine turns around in shock, while the crowd greets the sudden appearance of Grimnir with cheers. Grimnir raises a microphone and speaks, his voice betraying no emotion.

Grimnir: “Come one now, what kind of a display is this? We’re all adults, yet we have Anderson screaming like a spoiled child, Paradine scrabbling like an old woman to get that mask off and the Masked Man himself just… well… “taking it like a bitch”, to use a certain expression.”

Grimnir walks down to the head of the ramp, shaking his head.

Grimnir: “Of course, every single fan in this arena knows that there is only one true masked man here in the sVo… myself, of course.”

Grimnir taps his own mask, before feigning a melodramatic sigh.

Grimnir: “However, if you’ve been paying attention to sVo programming recently, you would’ve noticed that I’ve grown a little tired of the masked act. It’s so very boring listening to people talk about how they think they know who you are; which is why I have a proposition for you, Anderson. Next week, live on Showdown… we have a mask versus mask match. Everybody wins that way, you see! Paradine keeps his job and the fans find out the identity of either myself or the Masked Man. Can you see the ratings!?”

Anderson raises his eyebrow, looking apprehensive.

Matt Anderson: “How do I know you’re not just doing this to try and get Paradine off the hook?”

Grimnir: “You should know that I have no love for either Paradine or the Masked Man. I seek only to entertain the men and woman who pay to attend our shows with a proper spectacle, instead of this… whatever the hell it is you have happening right now.”

Anderson ponders the decision for a moment, before eventually sighing and nodding his head.

Matt Anderson: “Fine. Next week… Grimnir versus the Masked Man, with the loser being forced to reveal their identity. But if this is some kind of double cross… well, trust me. You’d better start job-hunting.”

Grimnir nods, and turns to look at the Masked Man as ‘Real Solution #9″ begins to play. Matt Anderson exits the ring and walks back up the ramp with the Company agents in tow, while Grimnir simply turns and leaves the ring with little fanfare as the show comes to an end, leaving Paradine and the Masked Man standing in the ring wondering just what will happen next week.BACKSTAGE

NOTHING LESS

The scene opens up to the backstage area where we see “The Reflection” of Perfection himself, Cody Williams. He is decked out in his wrestling attire sitting on a metal folding chair while a sVo trainer finishes the last of Cody’s wrist tape. The trainer rips off the last piece and Cody opens and closes his hand several times.

Trainer: How’s that?

Cody Williams: It’s perfect, thanks!

Cody stands up and shakes the trainer’s hand before retrieving his belongings, a shirt which he throws over his shoulder and his trademark sunglasses that he places behind his head. He starts to make his way down the hallway, stretching his arms out and shaking everything out in an attempt to get his muscles loose and limber, while trying to keep them warm. He waves to a few production assistants and passer-byers in the hallway as he continues his walk.

Voice: Well, well, look at who we have here.

Cody turns his attention to the side with a look of wonder and confusion. He makes eye contact with someone who is out of sight, and a smirk fills his face. The view slowly begins to pan out and it is revealed to be Nathan Paradine standing there, his hands on his hips.

Cody Williams: Look what the wind brought in.

Cody extends his hand out to Nathan Paradine and the two shake hands.

Nathan Paradine: I’m looking forward to this little exhibition match that they have planned for us.

Cody Williams: So am I. All I know is that the fans in attendance and all over the world are in for a treat because you and I are about to put on a wrestling clinic like only we can.

Nathan Paradine: Damn right. You better come out there swinging and bring your “A” game because I’m going to be giving you everything I’ve got and then some.

Cody Williams: I wouldn’t expect anything less!!!

The two of them stare each other down, a friendly grin on the both of their faces. Nathan Paradine passes Cody Williams as the two of them continue going their separate ways. Cody continues down the hallway and stops right in front of his locker room door, staring at the name placard before entering.BACKSTAGE

HIGH HOPES

Entering his home Colt Cooper was startled by Chris Wrestling who sat on a chair holding Colt’s International title like a baby in his arms. His fingers gently glide through the plated gold medal cracks as he sings a dreamfly stares at the title.

Colt::”What the hell are you doing in my home?”

Colt takes off his jacket and throws it on the bed. He snatches the International title out of Chris’s hand and throws it on the bed also. Grabbing Chris by his collar he lunges him from the chair bracing him on the wall lifting him up.

Chris::”Calm down. I’m just here to give you a little warning.”

Chris smiles and taps Colt on the top of his head. Colt’s a bit rejective at first, but he lets him go, and Chris falls to his knees. He stands and fixes his clothes up.

Chris::”See that title right there? It’s going to be mines. There is nothing you can say or do that’s going to stop me from taking it from you either. I’m tired of seeing you strutting around here thinking you’re some big dog. You aint nothing Colt Cooper. If you’re so good how come you haven’t won a WOM yet. You know why? Because you SUCK.”

Colt who is sitting on the edge of the bed with his arms folded just laughs.

Colt::”I’m nothing? You can’t compare to what I’ve been doing for the SvO. You’re lucky you even got a International title shot. Oh, I almost forgot….you bought it.”

Chris Wrestling looks as if he’s confused.

Chris::”What does that have to do with anything?”

Colt::”See…if you were like me then you wouldn’t have to pay for a shot at a title. All you would do is collect your pay, let it build, and fight for your shot at a title. But then theirs guys like you who feel they so desperately need a shot. They need a title. When I on the other hand just wait until they feel I’m ready for a shot at that specific title. If anything. You SUCK.”

Grimacing Chris Wrestling looks like he’s ready to explode. Colt stands and becomes face to face with him. He smirks and folds his arms at the boiling Chris Wrestling.

Chris::”I’ll show you who sucks.”

Chris Wrestling turns and begins his way exiting Colt’s home.

Colt::”Don’t get your hopes to high.”

Colt gives the camera a wink and closes the door so he can get ready for his match that’s coming up next.
“Last Resort” hits the sound system and there is a mixed reaction from the fans as Rey Rosario comes out completely ignoring the crowd. Rosario slowly makes his way down the entrance ramp, remaining focused on the ring as he continues to ignore the noise from the fans. Rosario enters underneath the bottom rope and sits down on the corner awaiting the match to start.

“Last Resort” plays as Canadian Crippler comes out completely focused on the ring. He enters the ring and awaits the bell.

“Last Resort” hits the sound system and on the big screen we see highlights of Canadian Perfect Chris Wrestling. Then Canadian Perfect Chris Wrestling comes out with a huge smirk on his face, trying to prevent the crowd from touching him.

The lights dim out quickly and suddenly, and the cacophany of chatter from the audience falls to silence. The opening bars of ‘Forsaken’ by Skillet hits out over the PA System and a single jet of Golden pyro erupts from the stage, the light from it illuminating a lone, solitary, dark figure. Ethan Rider is dressed in a long trench coat and his usual ring trunks, black with a tint of metallic silver. ‘Rider’ is written in gold lettering on the cuffs of the coat and the right leg of the trunks. Ethan gives a small smirk and straightens up, the lights slightly returning so he is visible. He walks to the ring, only slightly acknowledging the audience with the occasional nod. When he reaches the ringside area, he stands still, staring at the ring as two officials come forward and carefully remove the coat, producing a series of wolf-whistles from the females as he exposes his well defined, ‘Sexy’ abdomen and pectoral. He bounces on the spot a bit, warming up for the match, before sliding into the ring, just after a single flash of golden pyro shoots just millimetres over his shoulder. Bouncing off the ropes and raising two fingers up in front of him, giving another small smirk as the lights return.

‘Ladies and Gentlemen’ by Saliva hits the sound system and there are boos all around for Colt Cooper as his entrance video hits the sVo-Tron. After waiting a few seconds, Colt Cooper appears on the ramp with his normal cocky smile. He positions both of his arms out, tapping his chest taunting the crowd. A spectrum of black and blue strobe lights fill up the arena followed by a down pour of confetti. Colt struts his way to the ring extending his hands to some of his fans, and gives the middle finger to the fans of sVo who don’t like him.

There are boos in the arena as ‘JVD’ flashes up on the giant screen and the arena is basked in a pink glow. “All My Life” by Foo Fighters blares out as James Von Drake walks out, with his wife Lucy Von Drake as always by his side. JVD signals to the crowd before walking down to the ring and sliding in. JVD holds his arms in the air in the middle of the ring as Lucy Von Drake stands outside the ring clapping on her husband.

With all six men in the ring, this one is ready to get underway where the only way to win will be for one team to put a member of the opposite team through a table! Before the bell can even be rung for the match to begin, the Company team of Rider, Von Drake and Cooper quickly jump forward and knock down Wrestling, Crippler and Rosario from behind! The Company stomp down on the members of the Canadian Connection as the crowd boo loudly for the sneak attack.

Von Drake pulls Rosario up to his feet and sends him into the ropes, before taking him down to the mat with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker as he bounces back into the middle of the ring. Colt Cooper slams Crippler head first into the turnbuckle, before dropping him down to the mat with a spinning heel kick as he stumbles back out of the corner. Meanwhile Ethan Rider hits some big right hands on Chris Wrestling, before Wrestling grabs the arm of Rider and takes him down to the mat with an arm drag takedown. Chris Wrestling begins to stomp away on the arm of Ethan Rider, until he is nailed in the back of the head by Colt Cooper.

Colt Cooper pulls Chris Wrestling back into the middle of the ring, but Chris Wrestling twists the arm of Colt Cooper into a wrist lock, before taking him down to the mat with a side headlock takedown. With Colt Cooper down on the mat Chris Wrestling begins to lay into his opponent for Seasons Beatings next week with big right hands. On the other side of the ring, JVD brings Rey Rosario up to his feet, before sending him into the corner of the ring. JVD then begins to stomp away on Rosario with big kicks. Crippler however grabs hold of JVD from behind and takes him down to the mat with a German suplex!

With the Canadian Connection standing dominant in the ring, Rider, JVD and Colt Cooper quickly roll out of the ring to regroup. The fans boo loudly the actions of the Company until the Canadian Connection roll outside themselves and meet them with big right hands! Rosario knocks down Colt Cooper, whilst Crippler sends Ethan Rider into the turnbuckle. Chris Wrestling nails JVD with a knee to the midsection, before dropping him with a DDT on the unprotected floor!

With the Company down on the outside of the ring, the fans cheer as the Canadian Connection pull up the ring apron, and Crippler and Rosario pull out a table! Chris Wrestling looks to be directing things as the sVo Tag Team Champions slide the table into the ring, before rolling in to set the table up.

Rosario and Crippler set the table up in the middle of the ring, but as they do Colt Cooper nails Chris Wrestling with a low blow on the outside of the ring! The fans boo loudly as Chris Wrestling drops to his knees in pain, and Colt Cooper catches him with a Colt of Conduct on the outside of the ring! Ethan Rider and James Von Drake roll into the ring, but as they do Rey Rosario knocks them down with a double clothesline!

The fans cheer the move from Rosario, as Colt Cooper stomps away on Chris Wrestling on the outside of the ring. With Rider and Von Drake down on the outside of the ring, the Tag Team Champions pulls Von Drake up to a standing position before shooting him into the ropes! The fans cheer as Rosario and Crippler knock JVD down to the mat with a double shoulder block, before turning their attention back towards Ethan Rider!

Crippler pulls Rider up to a standing position, before setting him up in a powerbomb position! Crippler and Rosario pull Rider up as if they are going to hit him with a double team power bomb through the table! The fans pop, but before they can throw Rider through the table, James Von Drake saves his partner with a punch to the back of Cripplers head!

Crippler drops Ethan Rider down as Rosario rushes across and lays into JVD with some big right hands. JVD and Rosario brawl in the corner of the ring, but as they do Ethan Rider spins Crippler around! The fans give a mixed reaction as Ethan Rider sends Crippler crashing through the table with the ‘Blade Ridden’! The referee quickly calls for the bell to be rung as Crippler lays motionless in the wreckage of the table after the massive move from Ethan Rider. Colt Cooper rolls into the ring as Rosario is tossed over the top rope by JVD. The Company celebrate in the middle of the ring over the broken body of the Crippler, as the fans boo loudly for the group.

Is there anyone in the sVo that can put an end to the domination of the Company?

THE CALL

The cameras are in the locker room of the still unnamed stable of Roscoe Shame, Bobby Dean and Joseph Equinox, along with Jeremiah Sloan. The four men are at it once again, spitting out names left and right. Bobby Dean offering any name that includes the term “Beautiful” in the title, while Roscoe and Joey are showing signs of annoyance at the self centered “Beautiful” One.

Roscoe Shame: Enough Bobby! Geez! We’re not going to be the “Beautiful Biches” or the “Beautiful Bastards” or the “Beauty Marks” or the “Beautiful Whatevers!” Just leave it!

Bobby sits in his chair and crosses his arms in dramatic fashion. Like a four year old on the verge of a massive temper tantrum, but he is interrupted as Sloan’s cell phone begins to ring. Fishing the phone out of his pocket he takes a peek at the Caller ID and smiles.

Sloan: About freaking time!

Pushing a button he rises to his feet and begins to pace the locker room, showing his anticipation at this expected and most desired phone call.

Sloan: Hey buddy, long time… Yeah I got a deal of a life time for ya… I’ve got a sweet spot lined up for you over here in the sVo with a few friends of mine. We’re talking, World Champion, former Tag Team, International, Las Vegas Champion, and a guy that is a future champion in the making. You’d be joining the best of the best… Yeah… No… Nah, we haven’t come up with a name just yet but we’re getting there… Alright, yeah man, think about it and let me know what you want to do… Later.

Closing the phone, three pairs of eyes are all on Sloan. The pouting Bobby Dean leaning forward in his seat anticipation stamped on all of their faces as Sloan casually strolls over to his chair and sits back down. Look at the other three he smiles.

Sloan: He’s going to think about it some and get back to me.

Bobby Dean: No shit, we heard that!

Shame: Jay, who is this guy!?

Sloan: Alright, I’ll tell you, but you can’t say nothing to no one!

Motioning for all of them to scoot in, closer, closer, closer, all three turn their ear towards Sloan as he whispers the name. Three pairs of eyes go wide in surprise. All three men sit back in their chair, Roscoe with a smile on his face, Equinox a smile on his face, Bobby Dean a grimace on his.

Bobby Dean: Anybody but him Jay! No…

The three men laugh at Bobby’s forlorn look as Bobby goes back to crossing his arms and pouting like a four year old.
The lights get dim and a silence fills the arena. Smoke covers the stage as “Right Above It” cues over the sound system. Strobe lights begin to flicker as the song begins.

Now tell me how you love it
You know you at the top when only heaven’s right above it
We onnnn
‘Cause we onnnn

Karma Jones embraces the music and the crowd filled with boos and scepticism as he makes his way to the ring from the ramp. As Karma is poised on the top turnbuckle the music fades out and the lights come on.

“Sinner” by Drowning Pool begins. On the big screen we see highlights of DJ. Then DJ comes out walking and dancing a bit toward the ring.

The bell rings for the match to start and this one is under way as Karma Jones and DJ slowly make their way towards each other before meeting in the middle of the ring with a tie up. Karma Jones pulls DJ towards the ropes, but DJ breaks away and lays into Jones with some stiff forearm shots to the face. DJ grabs Karma Jones by the arm and shoots him into the ropes, however Jones bounces back and knocks down DJ with a big shoulder barge. DJ struggles up to his feet and Karma Jones takes him back down to the mat with a gut wrench back breaker, before laying into him with some mounted punches.

The crowd boo loudly for the #1 contender for the Las Vegas Championship as he slowly allows DJ up to his feet, before shooting him into the corner of the ring. DJ hits the turnbuckle hard, but as Karma Jones runs at him looking for a splash DJ manages to get his feet up and catch Jones in the face! The crowd cheer as Karma Jones staggers away, only for DJ to run at him and take him down to the mat with a swinging DDT!

Karma Jones holds his head in pain as he slowly begins to rise up to his feet, but DJ quickly lays into him with some quick kicks to the midsection, before knocking him back down to the mat with a spinning heel kick. With Karma Jones on the mat DJ runs and bounces into the ropes, before landing a running backflip onto the body of his opponent! Karma Jones looks in pain as DJ hooks the leg of his opponent to make the cover.

NO!

Karma Jones shows just how tough he is as he pulls himself up to his feet despite the high impact move from DJ. DJ looks disappointed with only getting a two count as he meets Karma Jones with some big punches as he gets to his feet. Karma Jones staggers away, but as he does DJ leaps up onto the turnbuckle, before leaping back with a flying kick to the face of Karma Jones! Karma Jones drops down to the mat in pain as the crowd cheer the high flying offence from DJ!

The camera momentarily switches to backstage, where joint #1 contender Nathan Paradine is watching the action unfold on a monitor. With Paradine taking on Karma Jones at Seasons Beatings next week, he seems to be enjoying the offence that DJ is dishing out!

Karma Jones staggers back to his feet, but DJ quickly takes him back down to the mat with a snap suplex. The fans cheer as DJ rises up to his feet and looks down at Karma Jones, before pointing up to the top rope! DJ slowly begins to climb up to the top rope, before taunting for the ‘DJ Splash’! DJ leaps from the top rope looking for his finishing move on Karma Jones, however Karma Jones manages to roll out of the way causing DJ to hit the mat hard!

The fans boo loudly as DJ staggers up to his feet holding his midsection in pain, however Karma Jones quickly tries to take advantage of the top rope miss by rolling DJ up into a cover!

One…

Two…

No!

The fans cheer as DJ manages to get a kick out before the three can be counted, but as he gets back to his feet he is clotheslined straight back down by Karma Jones. Karma Jones taunts to the fans and gets nothing but boos, before dropping an elbow straight into the chest of his opponent. DJ holds his chest in pain as he rises back to his feet, but Karma Jones quickly grabs hold of him by the back of the head, before slamming him face first into the turnbuckle. DJ staggers backwards holding his face in pain, and Karma Jones takes him down with a snapmare into a side head lock. DJ tries to twist and turn out of the side head lock and manages to make it back up to a standing position, only for Karma Jones to take him down to the mat with a belly to back suplex!

DJ looks in pain as he uses the ropes to pull himself to a standing position, but Karma Jones doesn’t give DJ any time to recover as he runs and clotheslines him over the top rope! Both men go tumbling to the outside of the ring, as the camera cuts to the backstage area where Cody Williams is sitting in his locker room watching the action on a wide screen TV!

Back at ringside Karma Jones pulls DJ to his feet and tries to whip him into the steel ring steps, however DJ uses his agility to step up onto the steps and jump off the other side. Karma Jones looks shocked at the move from DJ, as he turns and uses the steps to leap into the air and take down Karma Jones down with flying clothesline on the outside of the ring!

The fans cheer loudly for the high flying DJ, as he pulls Karma Jones up to his feet and rolls him into the ring under the bottom rope. DJ climbs up onto the ring apron and grabs the top rope with both hands, before sling shotting himself over the top rope and onto Karma Jones on the inside of the ring! The fans once again cheer the high flying offence from DJ, as he makes the cover on Karma Jones.

One…

Two…

No!

It looked like it was all over right there, but somehow Karma Jones manages to get a shoulder up before the three count! DJ can’t believe that Jones managed to kick out, as the scene heads backstage to the Company locker room where the sVo Las Vegas Champion James Von Drake is watching the action unfold. Back in the ring DJ pulls Karma Jones up to his feet and throws the larger man into the ring ropes. Jones bounces back into the middle of the ring and DJ attempts a huricanarana onto his opponent, but out of nowhere Jones counters it into a powerbomb!

The fans boo the big counter as Karma Jones slowly rises up to his feet with a smile on his face. Karma Jones lays into the back of DJ with some big axe handle smashes, before taking him down with a back breaker. As DJ struggles to his feet, Karma Jones signals for his finishing move! The fans boo loudly as DJ slowly staggers up, only to walk into the arms of Karma Jones and get drilled with the ‘Reapers Revenge’! With DJ down on the mat, Karma Jones makes the cover.

Candi Cross: I’m standing here outside of the TapOut Champions’ locker room and I’m about to get a word with Samuel Amos..

Candi knocks on the locker room door. Samuel Amos answers.

Candi Cross: Hello, Sam! I’m here because I wanted to hear-

Amos snatches the microphone from Candi’s hand. The crowd boos.

Samuel Amos: First of all, I’m tired of telling you people that it’s Samuel.. no no.. it’s Mister Amos to you! Do you understand that..?

Candi nods her head.

Samuel Amos: Good! Now.. let me show you something. Samuel Amos is many things.. I bet you knew that already. Samuel Amos is talented, he’s deadly.. he’s Infamous! ..but I wanted to show you something that you didn’t know about Samuel Amos. Samuel Amos is magical. Huh? You don’t believe me? You don’t believe that Samuel Amos is magical?

Sam places the microphone up to Candi’s lips.

Candi Cross: I never said..

Samuel Amos: Shut UP!

The crowd boos.

Samuel Amos: Shut up, woman. I AM magical because I’m going to tell you what you were thinking. I’m going to tell Candi Cross what she wanted to ask me.. without even knowing myself! Isn’t that special? Here goes..

Sam places his fingertips on his forehead, and pretends to be thinking deeply.

Samuel Amos: You wanted to ask.. it’s coming in clearly.. you wanted to ask what decision I was going to make.. if I was going to join the Company or tell the Company to buzz off! Isn’t that true..? Well.. isn’t it?

Candi doesn’t look too impressed.

Candi Cross: Well, actually.. that is what I was going to ask..

Samuel Amos: I KNEW IT!! I knew that you wanted to know what I have decided and my magical powers suggest that you’re not the only one. I bet the entire world wishes that they have my powers.. wishes that they KNEW what Samuel Amos was going to choose! But that is something that only I know!! Now if you’ll excuse me..

Samuel Amos hands the microphone back to Candi and she steps out of the way. Just as Sam is about to leave.. he is surrounded by the Company in it’s entirety. Cooper, Thompson, Rider, The Von Drakes, Clarissa English, Serenity and Matt Anderson himself. Sam looks a little bit distressed as all directions are blocked by a member of the company and Matt Anderson is standing directly in front of him. Candi holds the microphone up to Matt Anderson.

Matt Anderson: Well Amos, I’m waiting. What is your choice?

Sam looks a little bit worried as he looks over at Rider, then Cooper, then James Von Drake and then Howard Thompson.

Samuel Amos: You know what Anderson? You’re a funny man. The kind of funny that no one really laughs at, but everyone thinks is sad and pathetic. You’ve been trying to sabotage me since the Submission Elimination Challenge.. and that’s no lie. You’ve been trying to make my life miserable.. quite unsuccessful at that.

Matt Anderson: ..so what you’re saying is..

Amos cuts Anderson off, which seems to make Anderson very angry.

Samuel Amos: What I’m saying is this. You realize that you need me.. because apparently these clowns aren’t enough for you.

Ethan Rider lunges at Amos, but Colt Cooper holds him back, as their orders were to wait for Anderson’s instructions first.

Samuel Amos: You’re not asking me to JOIN the company.. you’re asking me to LEAD the company. You know how I know that..? Because I’m..

Matt Anderson: You listen here AMOS!! You have a choice!! Friend.. or Foe?!

The group move in on the TapOut Champion.

Samuel Amos: I.. uhh.. I .. just.. I need more time!

The crowd boos.

Samuel Amos: This decision.. this is a big decision! This is a career changer! You can’t expect me to make this kind of decision in just one week’s time!
The arena lights fade and a red light begins to slowly strobe as “March of the Pigs” by Nine Inch Nails pounds through the arena over the PA system. The crowd burst into a loud chorus of boos as The Company logo floats onto the sVo tron, quickly replaced by a name.

“N I G H T M A R E”

The curtains part and a man in red trunks with a black streak down the side and a black mask cut away at the top to reveal a freshly shaved head of hair. He half-grins/half-sneers at the jeering audience surrounding him and wastes little time in stalking down the entrance ramp before quickly sliding under the bottom rope and into the ring. He stands, jawing off at various members of the crowd as he awaits the start of the match.

“Stand Up” – Trapt begins to play over the sound system and the lights in the arena cut out. A spotlight searches around the crowd until it picks out The Teacher slowly making his way through the fans towards the ring. The Teacher leaps over the barrier and slides into the ring, ready to bring another wrong-doer to justice.

The rematch from last week is quickly underway as Nightmare dives forward and grabs hold of The Teacher in a front face lock. Nightmare begins to pull The Teacher backwards, however Teacher reverses into a waist lock onto the monster Nightmare, before nailing him with some clubbing blows to the back of the head. Nightmare staggers forward, only to get taken down with a single leg takedown by Teacher. Teacher lays into Nightmare with some big punches, until Nightmare grabs the arm of Teacher and rolls him through into a arm bar submission hold. Nightmare tries to lock the move in, however The Teacher manages to roll out and up to his feet to free himself.

Nightmare runs at The Teacher and takes him down with a double leg takedown, before laying into him with some big mounted punches. The Teacher tries to roll away, however Nightmare grabs hold of him in with a side head lock and tries to squeeze the life out of his opponent. CHALLENGE ACCEPTEDBackstage Tamara Boyd is found, microphone in hand standing in front of a black sVo backdrop. Standing next to her is the still weary and raging Nightmare.

Tamara Boyd: “I’m here with Nightmare who not long ago defeated The Teacher in singles action. Nightmare, during the match clearly you had ill-intentions on your mind however your efforts were…”

Nightmare: “… Tamara, we all saw what happened. That little pissant Alex Brooks had the fucking nerve to stick his nose in my business and somehow managed to DDT me onto a steel chair.”

He seethes with anger, breathing heavily from a mixture of his earlier efforts from the match and subsequent altercation and fury.

Nightmare: “Brooks, clearly you are too stupid to see what should be obvious to you. You are nothing compared to me. A fresh-faced teenaged rookie gunning after the seasoned ring warrior you see before you… it’s inevitable what will happen and as such, I felt it’d be a waste of time granting you a match. But your lucky shot tonight paired with your continued gnawing presence is beyond fucking annoying. And since Matt Anderson is apparently lacking in the seniority to grant me what I truly deserve at Season’s Beatings… I accept your challenge for Season’s Beatings – looks like you’re getting what you wanted for Christmas, but next week, I’ll bet you’ll be wishing you asked for a Kinect for your X-Box or some shit… fucking kids.”

Outburst over, Nightmare storms off, vanishing quickly into the maze of corridors comprising the backstage area and leaving Tamara lost for words.
“Sorry, You’re Not A Winner” by Enter Shikari blasts around the arena as Nathan Paradine appears at the top of the ramp, his arms crossed over his chest and his head bowed. He glances up, the lights reflecting off his sunglasses and he points out towards the crowd, oblivious to their cheers. He marches down to the ring and slides in underneath the bottom rope, climbing to his feet and raising an arm up into the air as the music dies away.

The house lights slowly dim, synched to the sound of a THX surround sound test causing the jam packed audience of the Goodfellas Arena to erupt. The sounds of “Head Like A Hole” (Clay Remix) by Nine Inch Nails blares on the arena’s sound system as gold lights wander around the arena. A strobe light flickers at the top of the entranceway while the entrance begins to fog up. Cody Williams can be seen rising up from the top of the ramp by way of lift. Once the lift comes to a halt he throws his arms up into the air to an eruption of pyrotechnics, followed by fireworks raining down ontop of him from above the stage.Bow down before the one you serve

Cody and Nathan begin to circle each other once again, trying to size the other one up before deciding their next action. Cody and Nathan reach out towards each other and tease at a test of strength. They clasp one of their hands and before they can clasp their other hands they are dumfounded by the sounds of boos from the crowd. They turn around and see Las Vegas Champion James Von Drake making his way down to the ring with his championship belt in tow. JVD makes his way to ringside and looks into the ring and motions for them to continue.

Cody finally gets back up onto his feet and Paradine runs towards the ropes, as his momentum builds up from the spring action of the ropes, James Von Drake grabs his ankle and trips him, causing him to land face first onto the mat. JVD immediately turns around and starts to laugh, much to the dismay and dislike of the Goodfellas Arena crowd. He starts to taunt the crowd and Paradine will have none of it and grabs JVD by the hair, dragging him onto the ring apron. Cody makes his way towards the two of them and assists Paradine, flipping JVD into the ring.

The referee calls for the bell and deems this a no contest due to outside interference. JVD sits up and holds his hands out, pleading with Cody and Paradine. GOLDEN OPPURTUNITY

Las Vegas Champion James Von Drake continues to make his way up the rampway, clutching to his championship belt. Karma Jones and Nathan Paradine start to show signs of life while Cody crawls to the nearest corner and demands a microphone. The ring announcer hands him one and Cody, who is slumped against the bottom turnbuckle raises it to his mouth.

Cody Williams: Hey.. HEY!!

JVD turns around and stares back into the ring, pointing to his chest.

Cody Williams: Yeah, I’m talking to you. When I first signed my contract for the sVo, I came here for one thing, and one thing only. And that is for the World Heavyweight Championship. I came back during Roll the Dice and made my intentions known loud and clear that I was coming after the very championship that eluded me during my first run here.

JVD, now a microphone in hand, throws his arms into the air and rolls his eyes.

James Von Drake: So what? That has nothing to do with me!!!

Cody Williams: Oh, it has everything to do with you. Because you see, when I stated my intentions and my motivtion for returning to the sVo Anderson basically told me that I needed to prove myself to him and to everyone else that I was still a big time player. He wanted me to show that I was deserving of the title shot that I requested, and that the only way to do that was to start from the bottom up and earn it. Remember what happened later that night?

James Von Drake: Yeah I remember, you attacked me from behind!

Cody Williams: Yeah, you’re right.. I did attack you, but not without reason. You see after I was told that I would have to start from the bottom up and work my way up to main event status I made a phone call and called my lawyer to discuss my course of action, my contractual obligations. And he pointed out something that was of interest to me. In my contract it states that I am promised a Championship match.

JVD’s eyebrow starts to raise slowly and he begins to intently listen to what Cody Williams is saying.

Cody Williams: You see, your Las Vegas Championship match at Season’s Beatings will be against the two people who earned that shot and became co-contenders for your belt.. Nathan Paradine and Karma Jones… And MYSELF, “The Reflection of Perfection” Cody Williams!!!

JVD starts to throw a fit and the entire crowd in attendance at the Goodfellas Arena erupts into cheers immediately after the announcement of Cody Williams.

James Von Drake: WHAT? WHAT? NO! NO! You can’t do that!

Cody Williams: Yes.. I can. I am using the championship match that was promised to me in writing and am challenging you for your Las Vegas Championship! See you next week, punk!

JVD shakes his head and starts to walk back up the ramp, not taking his eyes off of Cody Williams who is now standing in the ring, leaning over the top rope. JVD stops and the top of the ramp and grasps his championship belt and looks at it. Cody points towards his direction and makes a motion towards his waist, signifying that he is coming after it. Nathan Paradine finds himself outside of the ring, leaning against the ring apron, staring back into the ring at Cody who looks at him and shrugs. Karma Jones starts to pull himself together and has a look of disgust and anger on his face. Cody rolls out of the ring and throws his arms into the air to the roar of the crowd and makes his way back up the ramp, slapping a few fans hands on the way back.RINGSIDE

Howard Thompson: “Come to my attention that I will be competing in my first match back with that no good piece of trash, Joseph Equinox. Well I’ve been given the right to pick the stipulation of this match.”

He pauses, takes a moment to himself and then continues…

Howard Thompson: “Now I’ve been thinking about it for the whole week and I’ve gotta say… whether or not you think you stand a chance, you’re a fool. Why? Because in the end of it all, I will have the last laugh. I always do, Joey boy…”

Thompson smirks and then cracks a laugh.

Howard Thompson: “That’s why I’ve decided to make Serenity the special guest referee…”

Howie has a conniving smile upon his face like he is up to something, meanwhile the audience boo’s even louder.

Howard Thompson: “You see… you may try to stop my sVo return before it even gets started, but what you need to understand is that I am back to stay… and come Season’s Beatings, I will walk through you and move forward!”

With that being said, Howie takes the mic patch on him and tosses it down to the hallway floor. From there he heads back into his locker room, making sure to keep a close eye on the rest of tonight’s show.BACKSTAGE

DEMANDS OF A MOCKINGJAY

The camera shot fades out to Matt Andersons office. Matt is sat at his desk, his feet up as he twiddles a pen between his thumb and finger, his trademark shades perched casually on the tip of his nose. Suddenly, the door swings open, and the shadows of two burly Company agents fall into the camera shot, hauling Ethan Rider into the room and throwing him to his knees.

Matt: “Ahh, Ethan! I’ve been expecting you.”

Ethan Rider raises his eyes slowly, glaring at Matt from underneath his eyelashes. The agents back off to the corner, just wary of Ethan after his outburst earlier in the week.

Matt: “I hope you’re over your little tantrum this week, Mr Mockingjay?”

Ethan rises to his feet, cocking his head slightly to the side and taking a step towards Matt.

Ethan: “I don’t regret anything I said that night, Anderson.”

Matt: “What a shame.”

Ethan flexes his shoulders, rolling them forward rapidly, before taking a seat facing Matt.

Ethan: “I want something, Matt.”

Matt: “What a surprise! What is it? Tips on how to crush Teacher? Finally come to your senses on that one?”

Ethan raises his eyebrows, tilting his head back, before snapping forwards, his eyes meeting with Matts over the table.

Ethan: “No. I refuse to partake in that match.”

A sneer crosses Matts face, and he barely supresses a laugh.

Matt: “In that case…”

He goes to snap his fingers, nearly ordering Ethans escort to take him away, but Ethan stops him.

Ethan: “Unless…”

Matt: “Unless?”

Ethan: “You know what Matt? I’ve been here, in the SvO, for over two months now. Right, left and centre we have guys like Cooper as International champion, The Rodriguez brothers being handed OUR Tag title shots… What have I been given? Jack shit.”

Matt: “Your point is?”

Ethan: “Isn’t it time I was given something back? When you FORCED me to join your little posse, you promised me title shots and opportunities… I haven’t been given ANYTHING Matt. So I tell you what… I’ll fight Teacher, but If I win – You have to give me a Las Vegas Title shot.”ADVERTISEMENT

“Travel Now Journey Infinitely” by Trinacria begins to play over the arena sound system. The dull tones pick up speed as the haunting voice of a woman sings. As the voice reaches full pitch, the arena’s houselights washes out the arena in light before returning to normal, leaving Grimnir standing at the entrance. He starts to slowly walk down as the hammering drums and energy filled riffs grind through to his very last step. He stands at the front of the ring, points up the sky with both hands, slides into the ring and then kneels, looking as if he were praying. He stays there for a moment and then springs up to his feet, ready for action.

The house lights dim and a cheer erupts from the crowd as the Masked Man emerges from the crowd, his hood pulled low over his head. He slowly moves around the ring, climbing up the steel stairs and stepping between the ropes, cautiously eyeing down Grimnir as he moves to the center of the ring. They both begin to circle each other as the referee calls for the bell!

Both men stare each other down, knowing exactly what is on the line in this match. They both lock up and Grimnir comes out in control, wrenching the Masked Man’s arm behind his back before sending him running towards the ropes. The Masked Man rebounds and Grimnir catches him with a spinning sidewalk slam, however it doesn’t keep the Masked Man down for long. Grimnir attempts to apply an arm lock however the Masked Man manages to drive his knee into Grimnir, breaking the hold. Grimnir lurches forwards and the Masked Man climbs to his feet, clotheslining Grimnir to the mat before attempting a pinfall.

One!

Two!

Kickout!

Grimnir gets his shoulder up and the Masked Man rolls away into the corner, climbing to his feet and carefully watching his opponent climb to his feet. As Grimnir raises his arms and prepares to go on the offense again, a chorus of boos from the crowd draws his attention. The Mavericks are making their way down the ramp, “Beautiful” Bobby Dean and Roscoe Shame, with their sights set on Grimnir! They both slide into the ring and move towards Grimnir, however a sudden attack from the Masked Man sends Bobby Dean tumbling down to the mat! Grimnir and Shame begin to trade blows as the crowd cheers for masked men, however the Mavericks quickly take control of the beat down and send both Grimnir and the Masked Man tumbling down to ringside.

The crowd groans collectively as several Company agents emerge from backstage with Matt Anderson following close behind, screaming at them to apprehend the Masked Man. Ignoring the Mavericks, who are stomping down on a writing Grimnir, they seize the Masked Man and begin to drag him back up the ramp. The agents disappear backstage as Grimnir manages to break free from the Mavericks, diving into the ring. He turns around, his mask slightly askew, inviting both men to step into the ring. They look at each other and nod, climbing into the ring to continue their assault. The edge towards Grimnir, however the arena lights suddenly blink out!

A moment passes…

And another…

Then, slowly, a spotlight begins to shine down on the middle of the ring, revealing one thing; Grimnir’s trademark green and purple mask, with no sign of the number one contender to the title. As the lights return to their usual hue, Shame and Dean look around wildly, wondering just where Grimnir is… and just who he is, as Showdown comes to an end.
