sVo Against All Odds
Goodfellas Casino Arena
Sunday 23rd May 2021

The sVo logo fades on and then off of a black screen before ‘Venom’ by Eminem hits and the opening video package for ‘Against All Odds’ begins to play, featuring classic action with highlights from the likes of Psyko Stevo, Bobby Dean, Anthony Moretti, Roscoe Shame, William Vorheez, Nathan Paradine, JVD & Night.

As the package begins to come to an end, the live camera shows a shot of the outside of the Goodfellas Casino, sitting on the heart of the Las Vegas strip, before heading inside and panning around the sold-out Goodfellas Casino Arena. Fireworks begin to shoot up from the top of the entrance ramp as fans jump out at the camera trying to get their face on TV as the atmosphere for tonight’s show continues to build, with the music playing over the arena’s sound system.

The camera swings around to see the commentary team of Julian Fiasco & Jeremiah Sloan sitting at ringside, before turning to show the giant screen at the top of the entrance ramp as some of the matchups for tonight’s show are shown.

Fifth Man? Pt.1

The cameras head backstage to the catering area where lots of different sVo stars and backstage staff are milling around helping themselves to the buffet laid on for every sVo show. However the cameraman spots two individuals in particular deep in conversation, and zooms in across the room to the corner where the leader of ‘Horizon’, JD James, looks to be talking to veteran Absolute Zero!

JD James looks uncomfortable, with his leg still in plaster after the vicious attack at the hands of Blood Money only a few weeks ago that ruled him out of taking part in the upcoming Organised Chaos match next week at the Roll the Dice PPV.

However, Absolute Zero looks very engrossed in the conversation and is enthusiastically nodding his head along with whatever JD James is telling him! Both men are too far away for any audio to be picked up, and as the scene fades out the fans watching on the giant screen in the arena are left wondering just what the pair were in discussions about!

The Last Lesson?

The camera cuts to a different area backstage of the Goodfellas Casino Arena, in particular the interview area, where Katie Smith is standing with a wide smile on her face and a microphone in hand. Standing next to the smiling interviewer and in front of the ‘sVo’ branded backdrop is ‘The Teacher’, and the sight of the vetern sVo fighter draws a cheer from the crowd watching from the arena.

Despite the Teacher’s face being hidden behind his trademark mask, the pain is clear as The Teacher moves uncomfortably and still looks banged up after being beaten down weeks ago on Against All Odds at the hands of #1 contender Yoshi Ono and his running partner Scott Washington.

Katie Smith: “Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for joining me here tonight and welcome to another episode of sVo Against All Odds! Now we have some big matches tonight, but to start things off I am here with one of the most popular stars in the sVo today, The Teacher!”

The Teacher nods to Katie Smith as he soaks in the cheers that can be heard from the arena.

Katie Smith: “Now, you requested some interview time here this evening as I understand you have a challenge to throw out?”

Again the Teacher slowly nods, before uncomfortably leaning in to speak into the microphone in Smith’s hand.

The Teacher: “That’s right Katie. Now I am not cleared to compete tonight otherwise this challenge would be going out for tonight’s show, but I am told by the doctors that by next Sunday I should be good to go! Now as Roll the Dice is next Sunday, I am here to challenge Scott Washington to a one on one fight at the PPV! Now Scott beat me down pretty well a few weeks ago along with Ono and cost me a few weeks of my career. I want to challenge him to try and do the same without any help on Sunday!”

Smith looks surprised by the challenge as she prepares her follow up question.

Katie Smith: “Well Scott Washington is on quite the roll here in the sVo, and if it wasn’t for the intervention of Jon Page last week he would be calling himself the sVo Champion right now! Do you think challenging him when you have only just been medically cleared is a good idea?”

The Teacher slowly nods his head as if he had been expecting the question.

The Teacher: “I think we all know that my career has been winding down here in the sVo for a little while here Katie, and as soon as I can’t hang with the rest of the young guys I am going to be the first one to hang up the boots! I made my debut eleven years ago here in the sVo, and with not much time left Washington and Ono robbed me of a valuable few weeks of my career! That is why I need my chance at revenge against Washington before I run out of time to teach him a lesson….”

Smith solemnly nods her head, before preparing her final question.

Katie Smith: “One last thing, you have obviously been there for William Vorheez every time that Washington and Ono teamed up on him, how did you feel when he didn’t come to help you when they beat you down two on one?”

The Teacher: “At the end of the day Katie, I helped Vorheez out because it was the right thing to do. Did I expect the same courtesy in return?….. Sure! But Vorheez has made his decision to go it alone and I respect that, I just hope he knows what he has gotten himself into trying to keep hold of the sVo Championship with no one watching his back….”

The Teacher nods to Katie Smith to signal no further questions, as the scene slowly comes to a close.

Tag Team Match
Canadian Connection vs. Starr Brothers

‘Man in the Box’ by the Alice In Chains hits and there is a small cheer from the crowd as the team of Darren Starr & Simon Starr walk out onto the top of the entrance ramp! Both Starr brothers signal to both sides of the crowd before quickly making their way down the entrance ramp and diving head first into the ring.

‘Welcome To Toronto’ by K Money hits the sound system, and there are loud boos from the crowd as onto the top of the entrance ramp step Jake Hughes & Scott Cole of the Canadian Connection! Cole and Hughes signal to the crowd with sneers on their faces, before slowly walking down the entrance ramp bopping their heads to the music. Hughes and Cole climb up onto the ring apron on the side of the head camera, and slowly remove their ring jackets. The team throw their jackets into the crowd before climbing into the ring and running to opposite corners of the ring. Hughes and Cole climb to the second rope and stand staring out at the crowd with their arms folded, before jumping down and preparing for battle as the music fades out.

In a rematch from Against All Odds #11, the Starr Brothers look to follow up their recent victory over ‘the Shamrocks’ and get some revenge over the Canadian Connection! The referee calls for the bell to be rung, and the match gets started with Simon Star and Scott Cole starting things off for their teams. Both men circle around each other, with the fans clearly behind the popular Starr Brothers in this match.

Cole and Simon Starr tie up, but Cole quickly grabs Starr by the arm and whips him hard into the ring ropes, only for Simon Starr to return with a shoulder block to knock Cole down to the mat. With Cole down, Simon Starr hits the ropes again and looks for a running elbow drop, but Cole rolls out of the way! Cole looks for an early inside cradle on Simon Starr, but only gets a one count before Simon Starr gets to his feet and knocks down Cole with a clothesline!

The fans cheer loudly, as Simon Starr makes the tag out to his brother Darren Starr, who leaps over the top rope and into the ring before stomping away on Scott Cole as he gets to his feet. The fans boo as Cole struggles to his feet before landing a jawbreaker on Darren Starr which sends him stumbling backwards, before Cole hits the ring ropes and lands a diving dropkick to the knees of his opponent. With Darren Starr on the mat, Scott Cole chokes him out for a few seconds with the bottom of his boot, before making the tag out to his partner Jake Hughes!

Jake Hughes leaps into the ring and begins to quickly stomp away on Darren Starr, before working on the leg of the quick paced superstar with a knee bar submission hold. The fans boo loudly towards the Canadian Connection, but Jake Hughes doesn’t pay them any attention as he continues to try and injure the knee of his opponent! The fans begin to cheer as Darren Starr punches his way out of the submission hold, before limping up to his feet. Jake Hughes looks for a double leg takedown on Darren Starr as he limps around, but Starr cuts him off with an elbow strike to the top of the head. The fans cheer as Darren Starr makes the wise move to tag out to his older brother Simon Starr.

Simon Starr climbs into the ring and quickly lands some right hands on Jake Hughes, before Hughes blocks a punch and fires back with some punches of his own! Hughes grabs Simon Starr by the arm and whips him into the corner of the ring, before following up with a clothesline in the corner! Simon Starr stumbles out of the corner and Jake Hughes takes him down to the mat with a German suplex with a bridge!

One,

Two,

No!

Simon Starr gets a shoulder up and this match continues! Jake Hughes looks angrily at the referee, before rising up to his feet and stomping away on Simon Starr some more. Hughes drags Simon Starr by the arm towards his own corner, before making the tag out to Scott Cole! The fans boo as Cole climbs into the ring, and Cole and Hughes both stomp away on Simon Starr until the referee forces Hughes out of the ring with the threat of a DQ!

Scott Cole pulls Simon Starr up to his feet and looks for a German suplex of his own, but Simon Starr counters with some back elbow strikes before going behind on Cole with a standing switch, before taking him to the mat with a full nelson slam!

The fans cheer loudly for the move as Simon Starr crawls to his corner of the ring and makes the tag out to his younger brother Darren Starr! Darren Starr still seems to be feeling his knee a little, as he climbs into the ring and takes down Scott Cole as he tries to get to his feet with a flatliner. Darren Starr taunts Scott Cole to get to his feet before landing a swing blade on his opponent! The fans cheer loudly as the match seems to have swung in the favour of the Starr Brothers! Darren Starr helps Cole to his feet, before grabbing him in a front face lock and hitting a brainbuster in the middle of the ring! With Cole down and hurting, Darren Starr makes the cover!

One,

Two,

No!

Hughes manages to dive into the ring at the very last second and break the three count!

The fans boo loudly as Hughes tries to land some punches on Darren Starr, only for the referee to have to restrain him and try and get him out of the ring! Hughes looks reluctant to get out of the ring, but as he takes up the attention of the referee, there are boos all around the arena as out of the crowd and over the security ramp jumps a woman wearing Canadian Connection clothing!

The boos continue as the woman grabs a steel chair from ringside and smashes it into the back of Simon Starr on the ring apron, before sliding it into the ring! With the referees back still turned, Scott Cole grabs hold of Darren Starr in the confusion, and lands a DDT onto the steel chair! The boos continue as Cole pushes the chair out of the ring just as Jake Hughes finally exits the ring and allows the referee to turn back to the action! The referee turns around just in time to see Cole making the cover on Darren Starr!

One,

Two,

Three!

It’s all over and just like at Against All Odds #11 it is the Canadian Connection who steal the victory from the jaws of defeat against the Starr Brothers! Hughes and Cole celebrate the victory in the ring, along with the woman who assisted them & is wearing the Canadian Connection clothing! The boos rain down on the trio as the referee helps the Starr Brothers to their feet on the outside of the ring.

Winners via pinfall: The Canadian Connection

Fifth Man? Pt.2

After the big win for the Canadian Connection, the cameras head backstage where they catch up with Absolute Zero walking through the corridors of the Goodfellas Casino Arena. Absolute Zero looks to have a big smile on his face as if he knows something the rest of the world doesn’t…. However the smile is short-lived as he turns the corner and walks straight into the massive frame of ‘The Problem Solver’ Joe Baronne.

Absolute Zero backs up a few steps as he stares up at the snarling face of Baronne, however as he turns to walk back the other way he comes face to face with the former sVo Heavyweight Champion Anthony Moretti! Moretti has a smirk on his face as Zero glances back and forth between him and Barone.

Absolute Zero: “Guys, what’s this all about? I don’t want any trouble….”

Moretti lets out a small chuckle.

Anthony Moretti: “Thing is AZ, we didn’t want any trouble either but then we did say that we would get to whoever JD James called up to be his fifth man in the Organised Chaos match…. So really what is about to happen is all on you…. It could have been easily avoided!”

Absolute Zero begins to back away from Moretti, before remembering that the massive frame of Barone is behind him.

Absolute Zero: “Wait, wait… you got this all wrong! I got no intention of being in the Organised Chaos match against you guys, infact JD hasn’t even asked me!”

Anthony Moretti: “Sure, sure. I guess you guys were just talking baseball or something earlier! I’ve heard enough, you could at least admit it and take this ass kicking like a man…. Big man?”

Absolute Zero again tries to beg off to Moretti, but the ‘Problem Solver’ Barone quickly grabs him by the back of the head before slamming him face first into the wall, leaving a massive dent in the plaster. Absolute Zero drops down to the floor and Moretti and Barone viciously put the boots into the superstar.

Moretti and Barone continue the assault until Absolute Zero is left motionless on the floor, a small trickle of blood coming out of his mouth from what is sure to be some internal issues. Moretti shakes his head in disappointment as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a wad of dyed red dollar bills. Moretti peels off a few dollars and drops them on Absolute Zero, before nodding to Barone and leaving the scene of the crime.

Sliding Doors

The cameras cut again back to the interview area where Katie Smith is standing by once again with a microphone in hand. However this time alongside the hardest working interviewer in wrestling is CJ Dreamer! There is a cheer from the crowd as they spot their home town hero on the giant screen, which draws a smile from the Las Vegas native.

Katie Smith: “CJ, it’s been a few weeks since we saw you on sVo TV?”

CJ Dreamer: “That’s right Katie, let’s be honest about things, it’s not been going well since Orlando Fox scored that shock victory over me at the Countdown to Violence PPV!”

Katie Smith: “I see. Well I understand you are wanting to do something about it tonight?”

CJ Dreamer: “That’s right Katie. You see Countdown To Violence was a sliding doors moment for me and Orlando Fox. He won that match and went on to get himself a shot at the Las Vegas Championship, he got himself a match against the sVo Champion! Me? I went on to struggle to get any TV time at all.”

Dreamer looks down at the floor and shakes his head for a few seconds, as if running the last few months through his head on replay.

CJ Dreamer: “Now Fox squandered all of those opportunities and I am left to only think about what I could be doing with those shots if I had won that match! I could be standing here as a double champion right now! That is why I need to right the wrong of Countdown to Violence. At Roll The Dice I want Orlando Fox in a singles match to correct that blemish on my record and go on to achieve my destiny here in the sVo!”

The fans cheer for the challenge as Dreamer stares down the camera lens, laying down the gauntlet for Orlando Fox for the rematch at Roll The Dice 2021 next week!

After a few seconds the energetic Dallas Jordan steps out onto the top of the entrance ramp and throws up a salute to the crowd. ‘The Patriot’ quickly makes his way down the entrance ramp whilst slapping hands with fans at ringside, before climbing into the ring. Jordan stares out to the crowd for a few seconds before throwing up another salute to the crowd. Jordan retreats into his corner of the ring as the music begins to fade out.

The referee asks for the bell to be rung and the action to get started as Norman and Jordan circle around each other in the middle of the ring. Norman looks to tie up with Jordan, but Jordan picks the leg of his opponent and takes him down to the mat with a single leg takedown. Jordan lands some mounted punches to his opponent, until Norman is able to force his way out of the grasp of his opponent and back up to his feet.

Jordan looks for a double leg takedown on Dale Norman, but the rookie blocks the attempts of ‘The Patriot’, before landing an elbow smash to the back of his opponents head. Jordan staggers away in pain, but Norman grabs him by the arm and whips him into the ring ropes, before landing a clothesline as he bounces back into the middle of the ring! The fans cheer as Dale Norman gets back to his feet looking pleased with himself, however it is short lived as Dallas Jordan jumps up and grabs the rookie in a side head lock! Norman tries to fight his way out of the hold, but Jordan takes him to the mat with a side headlock takedown before landing some more mounted punches. Norman gets to his feet, but Jordan sends him into the corner of the ring before landing a spear to the midsection in the corner.

Jordan doesn’t look impressed with his opponent kicking out of the pinfall attempt, and he pulls him straight back up to his feet before following up with a stalling vertical suplex! The fans boo as Jordan cockily gets up to his feet and follows up by taunting the sold out crowd, before challenging Norman to get to his feet.

Norman slowly rises up and throws some right hands in the direction of his opponent, but Jordan ducks under the punches of Norman and goes behind to grab a waist lock. The boos continue as Dallas Jordan nails a German suplex on Norman to drop the rookie on the back of his head! Jordan repeats the move, this time with a release German suplex before taunting for his finishing move!

The boos grow even louder as Dallas Jordan flips Dale Norman over on the mat, before locking in the ‘Patriot Lock’! Norman reaches out in desperation for the bottom rope, before quickly realising that there is no getting there and tapping out to the pain! The fans boo as the referee quickly calls for the bell to be rung, only for Jordan to keep the hold locked on!

The boos continue as Jordan keeps the Patriot Lock on Dale Norman with a smile on his face as the referee tries in vain to force him to break the hold! The boos grow louder and louder for every second that Jordan has the move locked on, before there is a burst of cheers as Hiro Ryuu runs down the entrance ramp! Ryuu dives head first into the ring, but Jordan seems to sense his presence and quickly drops the hold before rolling to the outside of the ring!

Ryuu aims a kick in the direction of Jordan that misses, before checking on Dale Norman! Dallas Jordan backs up the entrance ramp with a smile on his face, a point made to the rest of the sVo locker room!

Winner via submission: Dallas Jordan

Fifth Man? Pt.3

The cameras cut to the backstage area where there is a crowd in the parking area as Absolute Zero is being loaded into the back of an ambulance on a stretcher after the brutal beat down at the hands of Blood Money’s Anthony Moretti & Joe Barone earlier in the evening!

Part of the watching crowd is Katie Smith, as always with a microphone in her hand. It doesn’t take long before Smith spots JD James limping into the scene on crutches, and she quickly rushes over to him before he can allude her.

Katie Smith: “JD, JD! What does that do for your plans for Organised Chaos now that Absolute Zero is out of action?”

James looks confused as he stares back at the pretty interviewer.

JD James: “Organised Chaos? What do you mean?”

Katie Smith: “Well Absolute Zero was taken out by Blood Money because he was seen talking to you earlier this evening about becoming the fifth man for Horizon in the match!”

James shakes his head.

JD James: “Seriously? Absolute Zero was never part of Organised Chaos. I was talking to him this evening because I promised Gunner’s boy that I would sort out an opponent for him for next week!”

Katie Smith: “So this whole attack by Blood Money was a case mistaken identity?”

JD James: “It just shows that we have Blood Money running scared ahead of next week! They can’t face the thought of facing us in a fair match… and they should be worried because the fifth person for Horizon is here tonight!”

JD James quickly hobbles away as quickly as his crutches will carry him as Katie Smith follows begging for an exclusive!

Single Match

Fifth Man? Pt.4

We head backstage once again, this time to the locker room of Blood Money where all five members are in attendance. Money Malone is preparing for his match up in the main event of the night against Johnny All Star, whilst Anthony Moretti is angrily pacing forth, being watched by Joe Barone and the Von Drakes.

Anthony Moretti: “I thought the info was supposed to be solid!”

Moretti continues to pace angrily, still annoyed about the attack on Absolute Zero earlier this evening all being for nothing.

Joe Barone: “Don’t worry boss, we will find out who the fifth man is and take them out of action just like we did to Absolute Zero.”

JVD nods in agreement with Barone, seemingly fully on board with the Blood Money agenda.

Anthony Moretti: “You heard JD James earlier, the fifth man is here tonight! Everyone is on high alert, we find out it is and we take them out! If not then we take out one of the other four, I don’t care who!”

Blood Money seem fired up as the camera fades out, but will they be able to take out a member of Horizon before the end of the night?

Ringside
Strike First

There are loud boos from the crowd as ‘Sympathy for the Devil’ hits the sound system and Amy Page slowly walks out onto the top of the entrance ramp, with Scott Washington and Yoshi Ono either side of her. Page smirks as she soaks in the boos from the Las Vegas crowd, before she leads the trio down the entrance ramp and into the ring. Washington and Ono hold the middle rope up for Page to climb into the ring, where she is handed a microphone by Natasha Ortiz the ring announcer.

Amy Page: “Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce to you your future sVo Champion Yoshi Ono!”

The fans boo loudly as Amy Page points at Ono, as the Japanese super heavyweight raises his arms in the air as if the match and title is already won.

Amy Page: “However the sVo Championship match isn’t the only thing that you have to look forward to next week, as you also get to see The Teacher get taught the lesson that you don’t mess with the best as he goes one on one against Scott Washington!”

Washington growls into the camera, sending a message to his masked opponent for next week after the earlier challenge.

Amy Page: “I mean seriously, what kind of idiot challenges a fighter like Scott Washington!”

The fans boo loudly, but before Amy Page can follow up, the arena goes pitch black as the opening guitar riff from “Abominator” by Doyle plays. Smoke billows up from the bottom of the staging area, as green laser lights dance across the stage. Just as the opening riff comes to a close, two large hits of a drum can be heard, and pyro goes off syncing with them. The song dives in, as William Vorheez makes his appearance at the top of the ramp. Wearing a long black, sleeveless coat, that has green stitching and it covered in small spikes, as well as a black, beat up, cowboy hat covering his eyes. Vorheez marches slowly down to the ring, his eyes fixated on the ring, looking determined, and focused. As Vorheez climbs onto the ring apron and climbs inside the ring the lights slowly come up and the music fades, Vorheez undoes his jacket and reveals the old sVo Championship underneath. Removing the belt he lifts it high in the air showing that he is the real reigning sVo Champion.

Washington quickly runs at Vorheez, but the sVo Champion side steps Washington and throws him right over the top rope! Amy Page looks shocked as Yoshi Ono rushes forward to attack, but Vorheez cuts him off with some big right hands, before bouncing off of the ring ropes and landing a clothesline that turns the big man inside out!

With Ono and Washington down, the fans cheer as Vorheez turns and stares at Amy Page! Page tries to beg away from Vorheez, but there is a big pop as Vorheez grabs Amy Page around the throat! Vorheez looks as if he is about to chokeslam Amy Page, however Vorheez fakes lifting Page up and instead drops her down! Vorheez stares a whole through Amy Page, as she backs away, a mixture of fear and confusion on her face.

Amy Page quickly gets out the ring as quickly as she can, before backing up the entrance ramp as quickly as she can, not taking her eyes off of the sVo Champion, as Vorheez stands with the title belt in the air as the scene fades out!

Malone looks for a back body drop, but All Star cuts him off with a clothesline! All Star waits in the corner of the ring as his opponent staggers up to a standing position, before running at him and looking for ‘The Touchdown’! However Money Malone has the move scouted and leap frogs over All Star! All Star looks shocked as he spins around, and Malone rolls him up with an inside cradle!

It’s all over and Johnny All Star has ended the undefeated run of Money Malone and gained some revenge over his loss at the Countdown to Violence PPV!

All Star leaps up to his feet and celebrates as the crowd seem a little stunned at the way that the usually clean cut All Star scored the victory!

Money Malone complains to the referee, but as he does All Star celebrates in the middle of the ring! The crowd give All Star a mixed reaction for his celebrations, but as he celebrates the angry Money Malone grabs him from behind and locks in the ‘Money Maker’ in the middle of the ring! All Star shouts and taps in pain, but the referee is powerless to get Malone to release his grip! The fans boo loudly, but then pop as down the entrance ramp runs the Las Vegas Champion Gunner Lang!

Lang dives head first into the ring and pulls Money Malone off of Johnny All Star. The fans cheer as Lang lands the ‘Boomer-lang’ followed up with a ‘Gunner-Struck’ on Malone! The fans pop as Gunner Lang stands over Money Malone, trash talking the Blood Money member, as Johnny All Star sits in the corner of the ring, looking in pain and not very appreciative of the help!

As Gunner stands over Malone, there are loud boos from the crowd as down the entrance ramp runs the former sVo Champion Anthony Moretti! Moretti slides into the ring himself and stalks Lang!
