The Victory Cup first took place in 2007 and was announced in the very first sVo televised show, Showdown #001, and was announced by general manager Paige Johnson in the very first segment. It was announced at the time that the winner of the tournament would not only be the first holder of the sVo Victory Cup, but would also be crowned the first ever sVo Championship with the final’s taking place at the first sVo PPV ‘Ultimate Victory’.

The eight man tournament kicked off on Showdown later that night with High Flyer defeating Kid X, Johnny All Star defeating Burraca, Joey Peyton defeating Kenneth Simpson Jr & Mike Polowy defeating Santos Rockwell in the main event.

The tournament continued in the second Showdown event with the semi final matches, Mike Polowy defeating High Flyer and Joey Peyton defeating Johnny All Star to set up the first ever PPV main event.

At Showdown episode three both Mike Polowy and Joey Peyton lost their respective matches due to outside interference, leaving neither men with the advantage heading into the Ultimate Victory main event.

The Ultimate Victory main event between Peyton and Polowy was one of the all time classics with both men going back and forth looking like they might be crowned the winner of the tournament and the first ever sVo Champion. With barely anything to split the two competitors, it ended up being an outside force that decided the match up as former P:V wrestler Shooting Star made his first apperance in the sVo, helping out his former stable mate Polowy and costing Peyton the match up & the tournament.

With Shooting Star’s help Mike Polowy was crowned the first ever holder of the Victory Cup and the first ever sVo Champion, however this only painted a target on the back of Polowy, with Spring Heeled Jack making his way out at the end of the PPV to confront the new champion.
